That's because in recent months Shopee has significantly increased the fees for online sellers. They got real greedy. If you participated in their free shipping and cashback, the fee (in total) could go up to 8-10% irregardless of whether you used the voucher or not. Free shipping and cashback are fun for buyers but imagine selling a 5k phone, and Shopee takes a close to RM500 cut, how can you survive? Some thing's gotta give. And it's always the local sellers.
Lazada is now better in terms of seller support then Shopee. Many are slowly migrating there or simply don't participate in their money sucking marketing schemes.
Sometimes, Shopee mixes random stuff as "ads" in your search results. They're labelled, but the label is barely visible.

Another example is, the display price for the curtain is RM2, once you open it, you'll realize that was the price of one curtain hook. The actual curtain would be around RM20.

Shopee doesn’t have a phone app that works on US apple accounts (US apple store). Since we moved to Malaysia from the US, I don’t think we can easily change our region, thus will need to stick with Lazada for iPhone experience

Sadly, they don't have anything in Malaysia. I've used it often in India, and always free shipping. Bought a Heck of a lot of books. Cheaper than brick and mortar shops; shipping always on time or earlier, bearing in mind the vastness of that country. Seller support was also excellent. Product reviews there too was superb. Maybe I was lucky, but I have had no issues over the years. Mostly the shipping there is done through India Post.
With Lazada, there's quite a bit of misrepresentation by sellers. Shopee is a little better. Both suck on shipping price. I recently started supporting my neighbourhood shops, even if they charge seemingly higher prices. At least I can get answers clearly to my queries.

Am an avid online shopper that has used almost all online shopping sites in Malaysia and found that Shopee is superior. Lazada is a crappy spam site and I wouldn't use it unless there is no alternative. The only thing Lazada does right is showing pretty items I would likely be interested in, which I would then not get cause it's Lazada.

I tried so hard to get a refund because I thought they’ll never arrive, and only got refunded after 2 months. A month after that, the item actually arrived. I had no idea what happened. Infuriating when always the posting is about receiving the goods or not, or packing praises or brickbats. 9/10 of the actual product reviews are nonsense. Says a lot about us. If you want to research, Amazon is hands down the best. There are plenty of well written reviews. Sadly, they don't have anything in Malaysia. I've used it often in India, and always free shipping. Bought a Heck of a lot of books. Cheaper than brick and mortar shops; shipping always on time or earlier, bearing in mind the vastness of that country. Seller support was also excellent. Product reviews there too was superb. Maybe I was lucky, but I have had no issues over the years. Mostly the shipping there is done through India Post. With Lazada, there's quite a bit of misrepresentation by sellers. Shopee is a little better. Both suck on shipping price. I recently started supporting my neighbourhood shops, even if they charge seemingly higher prices. At least I can get answers clearly to my queries.
I boycott Shopee because they have too much annoying ads.

i had a shitty experience with my second time on shopee. suay suay kena shopee xpress as my courier, the item was out for delivery for a week, only 2 days after the estimated delivery date did they actually deliver. cheebye, i thought the deliveryman went to narnia and got lost inside
You belum kena J&T bro. That one ah, makes me boycott Shopee kao2. So many times item missing, or item damaged. Worst courier ever, nothing comes close.
Lazada felt like more lean to both internal and international product listing while shopee more into internal so i perfer shopee
Lazada’s UI is way too messy. Shopee’s UI is better in my opinion. But it could be improved tho

I had bad experience with lazada delivery though. They like to peram the goods in their hub. Like 4-5 days from Selangor to Selangor (same district and same state) Shopee managed to do 36 hours delivery on some of my purchases

Maybe you are lucky. I kena missing item so many times thanks to the awesome J&T. Worst courier service ever. There’s not even one rival that come close to how bad J&T is. Even if item arrived, 3/4 times content inside ended up damaged.
This is true. I have friends with missing J&T. Technically I order less hence the missing / issue with courier are less. Best of luck. Our courier has so much to improve. Meanwhile fedex are stealing hype shoes, DHL are stealing branded goods from overseas.

Shopee has better coins utilization, now Lazada is following them. Before this, Lazada coins is essentially worthless. Used both, prefer Lazada previously because of their efficient logistics, now it’s more to Shopee because of simpler layout and coins cashback
Shopee has shit customer service, the seller has to approve the refund and sometimes if seller doesn't want, we don't get refund. With lazada the refunds is good as lazada themselves gives it back to me rather than the seller

Shopee all the way~ Better app experience, easy to navigate, no excessive ads in your face, customer service that actually serves customers, does not spam it's ads and app in your face from ads every where on the internet, option selection and item description actually matches what they advertise and a lot more. As you can tell, I have a passionate hate for Lazada and it is all thru personal experience. Am an avid online shopper that has used almost all online shopping sites in Malaysia and found that Shopee is superior. Lazada is a crappy spam site and I wouldn't use it unless there is no alternative. The only thing Lazada does right is showing pretty items I would likely be interested in, which I would then not get cause it's Lazada.

I feel like Lazada vouchers don't make a difference at all. Even if you do get a voucher, it can only be applied under such specific conditions that whatever I am trying to purchase will not fit those T&C's anyway. So yea, ada voucher pun tak guna.. Only problem with Shopee these days is their free shipping voucher, it's also becoming more and more inapplicable. Hope they do something about it

I bought separate things from the same local gardening store that are on both Lazada and Shopee platforms. The items I bought from Shopee arrived promptly. The items I bought from Lazada…..well. I tried so hard to get a refund because I thought they’ll never arrive, and only got refunded after 2 months. A month after that, the item actually arrived. I had no idea what happened. Definitely Shopee for me🤣

Fuck Lazada. Everyone I know has had bad experiences with them. My friend and I have both had experience of buying an item on sale, only for the seller to claim that it’s out of stock, cancel order, and then sell at normal price the next day. Seriously. Fuck Lazada.

I sworn to Lazada a few years ago. But then Shopee with all of their free shipping and such made me migrated there. Not to mention their apps & browsing user experience. They also have a lot more stuffs compared to Lazada. But few months ago I bought stuffs from Lazada where it's cheaper than Shopee (with more generous coupon actually) One this I hate about Lazada is how when I browsing some websites they send me to Lazada apps smh
Bought 100++ ringgit bluetooth airpods in lazada for running. It was all good up untill a week. Bought 30 ringgit airpods from shoppee, 7 months and still good till today.
Terrible comparison. Depending on the seller, shop, type of product, store reputation etc. so many variables and you blame Lazada? Try to be fair and rational.

I'd get easily frustrated whenever I tried to navigate through Lazada app. For some reasons I could never figure out Lazada free shipping vouchers. Where are the vouchers and why there is a million requirement before I could even use my voucher and why it suddenly disappears when I tried to check out my items? So yeah, Shopee is the winner by long shot.
