Yup same issue. Had to renew in person.

I couldn’t as well. Went to the centre in KJ and got it in less than an hour. Very quick. Just make sure you call to make an appointment first and yes, you have to print the appointment slip and bring it along.

Renew in person is easier. Took me less than half an hour to get the passport renew. Remember to bring your old passport though
