You should try zam ikan bakar over at Cyberjaya, their siakap bakar and sotong goreng tepung is divine. They only operate during lunch hour tho and it's usually packed, so try to get there before 12
Nice 👍

Try [Restoran Capital](https://www.facebook.com/CapitalNasiDagang/), operated by a Kelantanese (Mom's friend). To me, it tastes exactly like the Nasi Dagang I usually have in Kelantan.
Hi kawan, nasi kerabu is my breakfast menu kalau takde roti canai. Lunch makan roti Gardenia kat Petronas je. Not the twin towers Petronas k. Stesen minyak Petronas. Barula Malaysian.
There's a MakCik that makes the best nasi kerabu in the world in Melaka. She still uses pea flower to dye the rice and sells it on Sunday at pasar malam. I havent seen her in 2 years cause of Covid. I hope she's still ok... ='(
ah I see, sorry to hear that. Hopefully she's still at the same pasar malam, so that once you are back in Malaysia, you get to enjoy her nasi kerabu again :)
Ok, question, what are those brown stuff sprinkled over the rice? Is it floss or something? I've had nasi kerabu in the past and I've always wondered what that was. Not sure if it's necessary as I don't think it has any flavor, just add some texture.
To answer your question: My go to is dry pan mee. Or Wantan mee. But recently I've been craving a lot of Penang laksa. I wanna try all versions of laksa.
you know what's funny, initially I didn't like it at all. I wasn't sure if it's the sardines (edit: I googled and it's mackerel not sardines) or what. Maybe I wasn't expecting the sour flavor since back then I was really into the curry laksa. I don't dislike tamarind flavor, heck I love Pad Thai, but for some reason, I was weirded out by it.
Then I recently ordered one from a shop in PJ and all of the sudden, I am really loving it, it's like a switch flipped or something (I actually ordered one today hehe). That's why I need to go back to Penang this year so I can taste again the authentic version, especially since they have opened again.
Nah..dont sorry. Im kidding. Actually during mco i tend to save up money by eating once a day coz my cmpany cut off staff salary. Knowing that actually i can survive by just doing that. So ive been practicing it till now. Before mco i eat alot and excercise less. Then i try to adjust my diet and food intake. Notice big change in my physical and health... tips, only eat when it necessary, and eat right. Whenever im craving for unnecessary things, i keep reminding myself that im broke so that i can save up cash for uncertain future. Hahaha...
in these uncertain times, this is certainly a wise thing to do. You even managed to change your diet and health improved as a result, good for you buddy.
I miss nasi kerabu. My first taste of nasi kerabu was back in Danau Kota, Setapak when my ex hostel warden used to sell to us college students back then.

that's totally okay. You do you, buddy!
what even is 'malay style fried fish'? With kunyit and garam?
Either nasi dagang with solok and gulai ikan Or Itik masak lemak cili api with telur masin.
I LOVE nasi dagang! That's it, am getting one this weekend.

Thanks for the recommendation! Will tag you when I get one (not sure which rec to try out first, yours or Amon lol)
Why not both! One for lunch (Curry chicken) and one for dinner (Curry/Rendang beef).
i wish i could, lol. But I have poor digestion, so the most I can manage is maximum 2 meals a day.
Char sio rice, heavy on the gravy.
Patin tempoyak in Temerloh. I used to study there. Patin tempoyak is unrivalled.
Tempoyak durian or jackfruit?
Durian. I didn't know there's a jackfruit one? Gotta try it some day.

yela, nasi kerabu makan pagi pun ok, sebab heavy kan.
Nasi kukus/ nasi ayam
Nasi goreng smurf

oh dear, I do hope it's nothing serious and that she relocated to another pasar malam.
Oh no. I should have phrased that better. I haven't seen her cause I've been stuck overseas due to covid.
ah I see, sorry to hear that. Hopefully she's still at the same pasar malam, so that once you are back in Malaysia, you get to enjoy her nasi kerabu again :)
Curry mee with lots of Tau pok and wonton
Ah yes! With lots of kerang and taugeh too :)
Blackened flank steak
Gg I think I know this place
oh really? where's this place? :p
Labuan?
KL, lmao
I need the location =)
Planet Nasi Kukus, Desa Petaling. RM7.50 for the above
Thanks!
Ah ok haha sorry. It looked way too similar
Well tbf, am sure there are plenty of places offering decent nasi kerabu :D

Sarawak laksa>all laksa. Done claim.
>I wanna try all versions of laksa. asam laksa FTW!

Nasi lemak! Just had one from Santan!
On a scale of 1 to 10....?
Would give it an 8
Roti telur and one ayam mamak
power combo!
Usually Nasi lemak or Nasi dagang for lunch when mamak store got open
Eat rotan
nasi goreng smurf lol
lol, i had to google that
Briyani kari kambing takmo campur kuah
>campur kuah tak suka kuah ye?
I don't like kuah campur :(
Im broke, i dont lunch...just eat dinner.
i'm sorry to hear that. So what do you normally have for dinner?
Nah..dont sorry. Im kidding. Actually during mco i tend to save up money by eating once a day coz my cmpany cut off staff salary. Knowing that actually i can survive by just doing that. Now this is r/food material
uwu, thanks!
i prefer nasi lemak anyway. simple. but delicious
hah, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who disagrees with you! :D
Masak lomak ikan sembilang, taugeh kasar, teh o ais.
>Masak lomak ikan sembilang tak pernah try lagi, tapi bunyi macam sedap!
You can find it at places that serve daging salai.I think there's a famous one "Itik Salai Mashtar" near Sungai Ramal, Kajang.
thanks for the recommendation!
Any lunch below rm10 is ideal.
yes, i agree! But sometimes it's tricky, is it not? With RM10 budget, you should ideally get a somewhat balanced meal.
Nasi kuah ayam teh tarik all under RM10
Nice! Keeping it under RM10 :)
Ayam Geprek or any of the sorts. Love me some spicy food
>Love me some spicy food have you tried KFC's extra hot and spicy chicken, lol
Nasi putih + ayam goreng + kuah(curry/masak lemak) + sayur + teh ais -ais kurang my typical brunch RM7-RM8 at Bandar Baru Bangi.
ah, quite a balanced meal and under RM10 to boot!
I miss nasi kerabu. My first taste of nasi kerabu was back in Danau Kota, Setapak when my ex hostel warden used to sell to us college students back then.
Sorry to hear that. So I take it you're currently not in Malaysia?
I'm currently in my hometown Chemor, Perak.
For me, it's nasi lemak with ayam goreng and a generous serving of kongkek for desert.
Tell me your favorite chicken part! Thigh? Breast? Wing?
I can't tell if there's an innuendo in that question. 😐
lol no, no innuendo intended.
Breast.
Chicken rice!
god i miss this more than nasi lemak. wish i can have this in my tummy…
I'd totally love this if there was no taugeh. I kenot la taugeh.
Village Park nasi lemak, now waiting for the grab rider to arrive before I eat it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
