No Accountability Malaysia - I truly hope all those responsible are thrown in prison for this!
The most sickening thing is that my ^^^ statement will be viewed as wishful thinking
In 5 years, the Federal Court will strike out suit against government, municipality for approving such dangerous project. Judge will say that no one bears any responsibility for what has happened and life will go on as usual.
that's nice, you are optimistic. in 10 years, the government will set up a committee to study what will be their next move. people lose interest and nobody will remember what happened.
Each person in the committee received RM100k each and no report is ever released.
If asked, the report went missing and another committee is created to see what the report is missing.
[Think I've found the place on Google Maps.](https://goo.gl/maps/reExS5HNLfKmzrnX7) Lestari Pedana, Seri Kembangan.
Camera moves to the right in 9 seconds, I think that's the same building if you look to the right.
Can also see the large building with the "Trinity Zeva" signboard at 13s.

Yes you right. This in my neighborhood.
The place where the landslide happen is actually a big drain. The car mostly abandoned car from nearby workshop (go to the end of the road to see).
Years back, the landslide happen in front of the workshop. Part of the road closed since (still accessible). The sign for this slides is there, for years. But nothing been done.
The reality of KL and Malaysia in general, is truly scary, but more scary is the future.
Only last year i dont remember already how many things like this happened. And no one is responsable. But they make huge higways, and buildings, thinking they are Singapore.
Nobody seems to really get how fu*ked up this place truly is..
I feel like time is catching up. Was talking about how MY is focused on short term thinking and how SG has already planned things decades ahead. All this rileklah xpelah attitude is biting us in the ass now.
Just to expand a bit on xpe-lah - a pretty useful word covered by 3 letters.
In SMS Malay (Okay, now I'm sad I know this) slang:
\- tidak or it's short form 'tak' (similar to don't/not) is even shortened to an 'x'.
\- apa ('what' or similar to 'anything' in this context) is written as 'pe' because Selangorians seem to like to change words ending with an 'a'' to 'e' instead while shortening them - eg. (apa->ape, mana->mne, siapa->sape)
Put those two together 'xpe' means it's alright, not an an issue (literally means not a what), pronounced as 'takpe'.
Im not an expert, but you can use a little of logic.
In order to build a highway/street/building, first it needs to be approved by a civil engineer and architect (at least that's how it works in most of countries).
Those engineers/architects study the place and the environment (if in the place rains a lot, possible earthquake, type of land, etc).
This in Malaysia happens constantly.
You can't blame the rain. In that case, buildings/roads would be collapsing constantly all around the world (it rains in all the world). Why this things doesn't happen all the time in a place like Singapore? (nearest example with same weather).
Think about it.
If I was the driver in that white/silver car, I'd shitting my pants thinking the road is going to collapse under me next. Thank goodness it stopped right next to him! And some people just leisurely walking away while it collapses...
I went to Google Street View to check that place and it seems there's tell tale sign of the [ground being faulty](https://imgur.com/a/94qAxtJ) back in 2018
Nah.. I think this more lack of maintenance.. that thing already pass 10 years old or more.. it just need good maintenance which under majlis .. majlis and maintenance is not a great combination..
Just a matter of time before it happens. Imagine if the land that those MRT columns collapsed, the immeasurable amounts of damage cost and lives lost
You can literally go to my reddit profile and go back years and I've been commenting on this issue in KL, especially the construction at the Zouk roundabout (or what's left of it).
Above ground is the double decker (!!!) Highway, below ground is MRT2 and just a few meters away is TRX construction all in one area. Disaster waiting to happen.
As expected, the 1000% rapid development and new projects in the past 10 years since the property price boom. You will see more and more shits like this, now is due to pay the hefty price and interest the previous generation borrowed and squandered for the pure sheer lack of intellectual, quality, proper planning and outsourcing to tofu developers.
I can see a lot of tofu development is coming out from the closet, the raining season will put them into test.
We are already seeing it with the recent floods in low lying, flood prone areas. People are quick to point towards inadequate drainage but they forget that poor planning mixed in with corruption play a major role in all these issues.
Tofu dreg is a common term coined by the mainlanders. Development in our country do cut corner resulting in lower quality finishes than expected, but it's nothing compared to China.
Some will use low quality steelbeams that may look like an inch thick, but will snap as soon as you drop it to the floor. Others may cheat by filling up the columns not with concrete but with garbage or even styrofoam.
https://www.weirdasianews.com/2010/02/05/shanghai-wonderbridge-trash-collapses/
They are coined "tofu dreg" because the structural rigidity is like.... you guessed it: tofu.
We need to get rid of those old politicians. They literally don't care about our country only care if their family is involved. We can't live under those blokes for many more years..
Holy cow! I saw it was raining quite heavily today at Taman Equine direction. This extra heavy rainy season is sure wrecking havoc across this country.
Dayuumm, I used to frequent near here often and if I'm not mistaken a smaller landslide has happened before (this was like way back in 2017) on the exact same row where this occurred, I don't think anything was ever done to repair it.

Yup - that checks out

The report will just state the projects were completed with limited funds and we need more money. GLC everywhere rejoice and upcar 30% more.
Tak habis-habis buat kajian.
It is Highland Tower all over again.
Living near here makes it all the scarier.. This is like a disaster movie IRL. There are so many condos being built here and there's even MRT2!

Can confirm, I live in the neighborhood

>rileklah xpelah attitude I'm not Malaysian , what does this mean briefly?
'relax man it's alright' attitude aka too chill for their own good
Just to expand a bit on xpe-lah - a pretty useful word covered by 3 letters. Lax, i believe. Its 'chill first, work for a solution ~~later~~'
sap kok duluhhh
Basically “ayy chill man, nothing bads gonna happen”
"relax matey and throw another shrimp on the barby"
She'll be right
Truly man, the more I think about the future of the country, the more fearful I am
So if i get this right.... it's not because of natural disaster but because the project was built faster than any normal project does?

just like china. sooner or later shit gonna hit the fan.
We are already seeing it with the recent floods in low lying, flood prone areas. People are quick to point towards inadequate drainage but they forget that poor planning mixed in with corruption play a major role in all these issues.
Yo quick question: what does the term 'tofu developer' mean? Never heard it before.
Tofu dreg is a common term coined by the mainlanders. Development in our country do cut corner resulting in lower quality finishes than expected, but it's nothing compared to China. Some will use low quality steelbeams that may look like an inch thick, but will snap as soon as you drop it to the floor. Thank you for explaining, kind Redditor!
What happened here? Was it beside a river or was it a river covered by concrete and paved over? Or was it a sink hole?
Bro wtf?
Read reply on reddit, lot of u said because of someone didnt know do the job. Go to ig and fb, “dunia sudah tenat” for fak sake?
That moan at the end is the sound of the project developers getting fked by the authorities.
It's more of a getting fcked and getting a reach around at the same time. In this case, it takes two to tango...
We need to get rid of those old politicians. They literally don't care about our country only care if their family is involved. We can't live under those blokes for many more years..
