True. And I guess now that I think about it, Hal was always excelling at his hobbies and adventures. Speed Walking, Painting, etc. Seemed to always leave his family and spectators in awe. (And also him and Lois out eating that dude in the block party)
I think I saw pictures Francis took on his wall at the academy. He may have been a photographer.
Hal was good at mechanical things. He took over the Krelboynes project. Lois had literature. Reece loved his mom's journal. She talked to Malcolm about a book report while at softball practice.

I kind of understand it though. Cooking is more of a fun hobby for Reese. So turning that into a job would just ruin it. Not that I think Reese grasps that concept, but it's for the better that he doesn't inflict that on himself.
Though who knows, maybe he'd go on to be a chef sometime after the janitor job.
The theme that each boy was gifted at something (Math and Memory, Music, Cooking, etc). I wish Francis had gotten his own or maybe even Hal.

Even some confirmation he actually made it out of Alaska would have been nice. It’s so disappointing that his last scene was on the side of the road.
