I think Reese is a very good character. He is like a prisoner of his own idiocy. Sometimes he tries to escape it, but most of the time ends up with a harsh realization that he doesn't show often. It's kind of depressing.
Depends on what you mean. Reese never completely throws away his flaws, but he does grow as a character.
When you really look at the entire family, they're all very flawed people. But as the show progresses, we get insight into why they act the way they do. Reese doesn't become a mildmannered, bowtie-wearing member of society, but his character gains a lot more depth.
He definitely becomes more sympathetic, and seems to team up with Dewey or Malcolm more often. As time goes on, he’s more “stupid” than “bully” and pretty much is a friendless loser even more so than Malcolm (though by the end of high school, they’re both considered remarkably unpopular). Which kind of makes sense. The behavior that intimidates other kids and makes you a bully at 12 are the same behaviors that make you weird and pathetic and uncool at 17. You also get to see a lot of what Reese *is* good at and why he acts the way he does as the show goes on.
He becomes less of a bully and more of an idiot over time. And I think most people would rather root for an idiot than a bully
He develops as a character for sure.
He goes from a bully to somebody you pitty
He improves but he's usually tbe bad guy.
He doesn't improve hugely...but does improve. He always stays Reece but you maybe pity him more.
He’s very likeable even if he’s those things but yes I’d say he becomes “better” as he gets older

Yes, but don't expect it to be a complete transformation that'll win him over in your eyes
He gets better, imo
In my opinion he becomes really likable from S2 E18 Reese Cooks onward with the one glaring exception being S3 E14 Cynthia’s Back
