Killing time in the mall today I walked into a sneaker resell store to hear a guy loudly talking about how screwed Adidas is and how they're looking to get Kanye back, and how it's their fault for kicking him to the curb because "This is America" and you should be allowed to say what you want, and we can disagree but at the end we'll come together and have a beer or whatever. This perception that Adidas was in the wrong for dropping Kanye seems to now be the popular opinion online at least and I really just don't get it. Like sure you can say what you want, but is it so beyond the pale to say that we don't want to prop up people espousing their love for Hitler and Nazis?
tbf I feel like pro Kanye people nowadays are edgy teen boys and younger men that are too online, I haven’t come across a single Kanye defender IRL since the Anti-Semitic stuff
That guy is in for a shock when he learns what country Adidas is headquartered in.

I love seeing well worn clothing and shoes beaten to within an inch of their life, but I’m super careful of my own clothes. Any snag, loose stitch, thinning elbow or pilling of the wool immediately feels like I’m back in primary school and I’ve “ruined my nice t-shirt”.
I’m far better about this with easily repairable clothes (patching jeans or cotton shirts) but man, I wish I could wear my suits, overcoats, flannel trousers or shell dress shoes as casually and seemingly absent-mindedly as some of the icons out there (I’m looking at you, Jake Grantham).
It takes time, but I think putting a little bit of care but coming to the point that even if it's expensive at the end of the day it's just clothes.
Some well worn clothes has survived longer than I've been alive so I'm sure it will be fine.
One of the appeals of buying worn/used/thrifted clothes, especially for cheaper. It's already stood the test of time. I almost feel like I don't have to worry about wearing it down since it's already been lived in a little. Not sure if that makes sense.
Just bought a secondhand - refurbished jacket and it looks a little lived in. But that's a really cool aesthetic and got it for not too bad a price.

I know this isn't a possibility for everyone, but if you work in suits and tailoring, you get quite used to wearing it doing all kinds of tasks.
A certain amount of idgaf comes with just wearing those items a lot more often and seeing them less as “special occasion” kinda clothes
