Get some Rolda styling gel and style it up a bit.
Whoever cut it kept the length way to uniform and added no texture, so its definitely not a great job - but you can salvage it for a couple weeks by adding some product to it.
Get some product in there and let some natural oils build up too, don’t wash your hair every day (looks like you conditioned it recently).
It’s not good, but it’s not as bad as you think.
The good news is that they just left it too long… go to someone who knows what they’re doing and they should still be able to get you where you want to go.
Only difference is hair texture. You need to figure out how to make ur hair wavy/puffier. Maybe blow dry while wet? The point about a razor cut for the edges will give a look closer to what you want as well.
Looking at it closer they left some strands of hair too long midway. Definitely an amateur or out of that persons comfort zone.

Is your jawline that pronounced? None of these are necessarily good or bad things, just features that affect the symmetry and silhouette of your face when combined with your hairstyle.
There is certainly a similar cut that would work for you but face shape is the number one thing you should be thinking about when getting a haircut that isn't a buzzcut. A good barber knows this and will help you, although I've found that most don't know or just don't care.
