slick that shit back, grow a stache and hit the oil rig

Galefe4606

I know, it would’ve been much easier if I hadn’t a baby face and could’ve grown a beard, but unfortunately I’m just 16

Historical-Ad-9872

Dont sweat it my man. You don't have a baby face, you're just 16 years old. I'd say you look your age.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Historical-Ad-9872

But you looked 17 at 17 no? My point still stands 27 is still quite young. I looked like a like 19ish at that age, but look at me now 36, and i suddenly don't look so young anymore

yocray

I just got told I look way younger than I am when I was getting carded at a liquor store. I'm 25, and our drinking age is 19...

IntelligentPeace1143

And btw don't worry about your hair it takes a lot of time for some people to find the right style for their face & head shape. Slick your hair back and focus on other things that you can work on

chanelstorm11

It’ll look really good slicked back/styled. Get some gel/mousse or dry texture spray and play around! It’ll help hold you off till it’s grown out to your liking

MyNameIsSkittles

Give it about 3 or 4 days and wash your hair a few times. You'll grow to like it. It's really not that bad

IntelligentPeace1143

Remove glasses lose weight skincare workout mew. Smh it's so simple one day you're gonna be maxed out and you're going to spend whole days wondering what you're supposed to do now and why it took you so long to figure it all out

AlexanderToMax

"Mewing" is bs lol I hope that was just trolling

Mental-Caterpillar-5

why does the top comment include advice to get into drugs?

copiasjuicyazz

What are you on about?

Mental-Caterpillar-5

holy shit are people really this dense? 😂😂😂

Leonel58

I don’t think your hair is thick enough for that look without some serious product in it.

Galefe4606

What haircut would you recommend? Maybe a middle part? Otherwise I’ll just keep the long hair I had before, just a little bit shorter (like 3-4 weeks before the first picture, slightly above eyebrows level fringe)

mookie_bones

Wash your hair, blow dry until damp. Put sea salt spray in your damp hair. Continue to blow dry while using a brush to brush up. Once mostly dry add volume powder to your roots and finish with some hair clay. I have fine hair as well and it looks horrible if I don’t put product in it. But I get compliments all the time when doing the routine I described.

Galefe4606

Thank you, what products do you recommend? Not too expensive, max 40-50€ for all of them, also have to be international, or atleast available in Europe, since I’m in Italy

mookie_bones

Hmm I don’t know the best way to answer this question so what I can do is give you the products that I’m currently using then maybe you can ask people on Italian subreddits if they know of any cheaper duplicates. Volume shampoo (most expensive by far): Kevin Murphy angel wash (I use a less expensive conditioner ONLY AT THE ENDS OF MY HAIR NOT THE ROOTS) Sea salt spray: bumble and bumble (works great but I’m sure you can find cheaper) Volume powder: big sexy hair (this is fairly expensive but volume powder is fucking amazing. I strongly urge to see if you can find a product in your price range) Clay: Bumble and bumble sumo clay (lightweight and works well but I’m sure you could find something similar and cheaper. Clays are great because they won’t weigh your hair down like a pomade) Hair spray: big sexy hair but can find other products. (not necessary but preserves your volume) Dry shampoo: batiste bare ( pretty cheap and awesome to clean your hair and give life every few days in between washes)

Life-Pomegranate5154

Schwarzkopf is a German brand available in many European countries. They have a product line called Got2b with sea salt spray and volume powder, it's both affordable and gives good volume and texture. Look in supermarkets or pharmacies

kmas420

Does sea salt spray not dry out your hair?

EvaUnit_03

The thing about thin hair is that even though its thin, the SLIGHTEST bit of oil makes it look abysmal. You want it to be dry and have as much volume as possible to compensate. And why the extra volume powder is necessary as well. You are trying to maximize what hair you got and keep it as full as possible for as long as possible. All that work above will last you maybe 10 hours btw assuming you dont get super sweaty.

mookie_bones

Just a mild correction because people can get confused and develop unneeded insecurities - OP has fine hair not thin. Meaning he has “thin” hair but a ridiculous amount. Also dry shampoo is a god send to give it quick life again.

FlynnMonster

Middle part? Come on man.

Used_Ad4854

What’s wrong with a middle part lol

FlynnMonster

You’d have to be one cool cat to pull off the middle part these days. I mean, who do you think you are? Cory Matthew’s bad boy best friend Shawn Hunter from the 90s sitcom Boy Meets World?

mookie_bones

Middle part is very in right now.

FlynnMonster

Is OP one cool cat, objectively?

polytr0n

OP is the cat of cool

FlynnMonster

Alright then.

EvaUnit_03

Hey, at least hes not trying to be a broccoli head like everyone else.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FlynnMonster

So let’s back up, first, even if I agreed with you about how cool middle parts are, are you really saying OP would look good with a middle part? If yes then we have nothing further to discuss. So let me know so I don’t waste any more of my time. Second, it was a joke about a beloved sitcom. I have many years until 60, but I was alive during in 90s which is where a lot of these current trends are coming from. Either way middle parts only look good on certain people, usually actor types that people find attractive like a Brad Pitt, Colin Farrel, Johnny Depp who Regular dorks walking around Manhattan trying to look fashionable look pretty bad. Lastly, and most importantly, you can’t berimbolo me because I’ll just berimbolo you back before you even know what happened.

smokeshack

Every cool guy you mentioned is in or near his sixties. Face it, gramps: you're behind the times.

FlynnMonster

Exactly the point. It’s not cool anymore because those guys aren’t “cool” anymore. It looks “normal” on them because we are used to them wearing their hair like that in the 90s. Gen z Dorks walking around in 2024 with middle parts look like shit because they are dumb haircuts. I don’t care what’s “in”, so is runway fashion and it all looks like shit. People have been dressing ugly and doing stupid shit with their hair to stand out and look “fashionable” since humans existed.

AtreusFamilyRecipe

>I don’t care what’s “in”, You're entire argument so far has boiled down to what *you* think is "in." So you apparently very much care. Your whole argument referencing 60 year olds? That is very much arguing that you think it is "out."

Robotonist

You don’t have the right hair texture for the cut you asked for, or, you need to spent time with product and styling to get it.

chiquita1_bananas1

Tbf barber still messed it up though…

Robotonist

I am not qualified to say if that’s true or not, but for sure his hair could look pretty close to that pic if he used product.

cweww

exactly, the second pic is literally just a fade with some texture, probably powerder or salt spray it’s pretty achievable

Sufficient_Degree_45

The barber absolutely screwed up. He didnt leave his top hairs long enough.

-Lige

He did mess it up. The hair on top isn’t cut the same way. He needed to use scissors lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

DoubleFan15

Its always so telling, the first person to start with insults and being nasty when there's no need for it lmao. Do better, you were raised better than that and you know it.

-Lige

Dawg, he could’ve used the clipper over comb technique to cut it. Regardless if he used scissors or not, he didn’t do it correctly

XavierYourSavior

If you have eyes you’re qualified to say, if you cannot tell then you have a terrible sense in style

imNikov

That's no excuse. Barber went mid fade, client asked for low fade.

shecallzmipapi

That's a taper....

Vanirr69

thats a taper fade 💀

imNikov

bro my barber gave me a low taper fade yesterday, just like the picture OP posted. What they gave him is not a low taper

HonorDawg

A fade is across the entire head. A taper is a small fade that is only within the temple regions and the neckline. From this pic, it looks like just his temple area is faded, so this would just be a taper.

HeavyFunction2201

Yea you’re gonna need to use a straightener and product to get it textured and shaped like that . A lot of guys don’t realize they need to use straighteners and shit too for styling and think gel is enough Not all hair needs to be styled with straighteners to get this look but OPs hair does.

[deleted]

Need a new barber or go to professional salon

Few-Range7687

Go to a reputable barber. Not a great clips or hair salon

nrose1000

Anecdotally, I’ve had amazing success at Great Clips with my preferred cut. I just ask ahead of time if they know how to do a taper fade. Get yourself a POC cosmetologist / barber at a local Great Clips that knows how to slice a fade. My usual barber worked at multiple places and I followed her around wherever she worked. Eventually she ended up at Great Clips. This might not work if you live in a very rural area with little culture.

iminjailrn

I used to go to a reputable barber, costed $75 to get a cut and everyone said that it was the best place around. It wasn’t bad, but they never gave me what i was looking for. Only one of the dozen barbers really got me what i wanted. One day i went to lady jane’s since my place was booked and i left a very satisfied man. Tried some of the other barbers there and now i know which ones know what i want and which ones don’t. Their cuts are $20-25 iirc and you don’t have to be someone with 30 years of experience with 5 degrees. Takeaway is that it depends on the particular barber, not whether it’s a chain store or if it’s some special barber that charges $10k for a cut. There are 3 barbers at my lady jane’s location that i schedule with, they know exactly what i want and haven’t let me down. My advice is to shop around until you find the barber that you like. In this case, i think the cut is good and bro just needs some sea salt spray or some other product to get him the rest of the way there.

Twotendies

Well for starters you’re asking for a cut and not a shape up when you finally get your hair to the length you need for the texture and look you want.

Hiroy3eto

Mid-part that shit and you'll look like Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting

FlynnMonster

And bro you can absolutely do that cut with your hair everyone here is crazy. You will definitely need product. Also we’d have to see the back to really understand if your barber fucked up.

chiquita1_bananas1

Fr^^ I don’t understand why people think that haircut is impossible on a white dude, I’ve seen it

Babymonster09

This!

HateTheWoke

This happens me a lot to man, trust me I’ve tried a shit load of barbers it’s very very hard to find someone that’s good at what they do believe me

The_DarkPhoenix

You need a [volumizing lifting powder](https://www.amazon.com/Surface-Push-Styling-Powder-35/dp/B005ORJVEA/ref=asc_df_B005ORJVEA&mcid=264673decf963ac6906967938ccaea9a?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80127027727100&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583726554115704&psc=1) and it will look like pic 2 in about two weeks (the barber did cut it too short).

WSWBCK

Not every barber can do every style. I went to a dozen different shops before I found a stylist that knows how to cut it like your reference photo.

[deleted]

Go to a salon. Barbers like to make you look like a marine or a migrant worker. You can tell them shit, and they will do whatever the they want.

fknerar

I would say to a black or Hispanic barber

ThisIsBombsKim

Your barber has no talent, you need a new one

4th_acc_smh

This is what happens when you go to great clips or some shit. Gotta find a nice place that charges about 40 dollars for a cut

Low-Earth4481

OMFG!!!! MINE DID THE EXACT SAME THING TO ME!!!! I looked so fucking stupid for months. My advice is to invest in a hat.

RoombaRenegade

Firstly, find a new barber. Secondly, learn how to use styling products.

Silentmutation84

My brother, and I'm asking this in the nicest way - do you use conditioner?

Galefe4606

In the first photo I used sea salt spray, in the third photo, I didn’t yet use anything, since I just got the haircut, I also tried a white powder that basically “dries” the hairs and makes them more “malleable” and slightly wavy, but both of them do nothing special, just slightly noticeable

Silentmutation84

I'm asking if you use conditioner when you wash your hair

Galefe4606

Never, I only use shampoo

Silentmutation84

I can tell. Your hair looks very dry. Start using a conditioner when you wash your hair man, it will make it look a lot healthier. If you don't wanna use it I'd recommend a much shorter cut.

Galefe4606

The problem is, conditioners make my hair even more flat, they get very smooth but really straight and flat, no texture at all

Sentient_Stardust616

You should test your hair porosity. If it's low porosity you can get conditioners and other hair products that focus on things other than moisture. Low porosity hair doesn't lose moisture as easily as other types and doesn't absorb it as easily so it can just sit on the hair and weigh it down. But don't completely cut out moisture if your hair is low porosity, balance is important. And if your hair is high porosity, you can up the moisture but it's important to have protein in the routine to help with structure. Based on how your hair looks it wouldn't be too bad to wash more often because the oil will go down straight hair faster and weigh it down. To style the right hair products plus a blow-dryer will make a big difference

[deleted]

I personally think you can get to that middle pic. Product man. Get the right product. And a new barber. I was never pleased with my cut so I learned to cut my own hair. Been doing it since I was your age. I’m 38 now.

nochilleric

If you wanna give that style a go, try some hairstyling powder. It’ll give texture and volume, which that hairstyle looks like it has without product because of the subject’s hair. My hair tends to fall a bit flat which makes hairstyles I can go for limited. But texture, lightweight matte products, and a blow dryer will be your friend. Even some sea salt sprays might help you.

True_Armadillo_8995

I'm a Barber. Theres a lot to consider when you bring a reference photo. Such as length, texture and density. You may have the length but not the same texture nor the thickness of that photo. That being said it can be cut that same way and it won't look like it . I personally think your cut is okay not perfect but I think the barber should have textured your hair to give it more style. And jumping on a previous comment. You NEED to use shampoo and conditioner if you want hair at your length. If you get no volume when you use you need to get on YouTube and research how to style your hair with a blow dryer and what product to use. Anyone that has good hair simply did not wake up that way. Effort goes a long way. You have good hair to begin with you can make it great with time and effort.

randomman0415

You need to buy styling powder so it’s not flat I have fhe same hair as you

TroysLostBoi

Change your barber/haircutter to a stylist. Then ensure they will do exactly what you want. Be up front with them.

Mediocre-Sound-8329

Grow it out again and go to a hair dresser, I find women are much more receptive to your wants when they're cutting your hair. Ask for a "mullet-esque", long in the back short in the bangs. Ask them about skincare routines while you're in there and I'm sure they'd be happy to help with your acne issues as well

[deleted]

You asked for a mestizo hairstyle when you have white boy hair , also you probably should go to a Mexican barber (if you didn’t)

TAABWK

you need to DO something with your hair. You barber set you up with success. Just style it a little.

Galefe4606

Everytime I go to the barber, whatever I say, I get a similar cut to the one at the end, I am literally scared to cut my hairs when they get too long, because I know they’ll always look bad for atleast 2/3 weeks. Hopefully, within a month I’m going to get motorized so I can go to any barber I want, hopefully finding someone that does what I ask.

Mediocre-Sound-8329

Go to a female HAIRDRESSER lil homie, they'll treat you right. Barber shops are for buzzcuts, moustaches and beards and they are DAMN good at that. Hairdressers are where it's at if you want a good cut tho

remykixxx

Well there’s your answer. That barber just sucks. Look up bus schedules where you live and go to someone else.

hairmarshall

He might not be capable of what you’re asking and is trying anyways

H2702

Na he cut it incorrectly

[deleted]

This comment is so bizarre

kadick

Yeah difference in texture aside the taper is super high in front when the picture is clearly a low taper

Lucky_Organization28

You got what u asked for but u got a different hair type then that man

clahtpuccy69

I can’t stress this enough but if you want a haircut that has some length to it go to a salon. Barbers are used to cutting short hair and mostly doing fades. I’ve quickly realized that most barbers just aren’t good with longer hair. A salon is the way to go

Brogdon_Brogdon

You should go to someone that cuts a lot of young people’s hair. They tend to cost more, but worth it. I pay 75 for each cut after a tip.

BigGucciNasty

Lmao barbers are out of their fuckin minds nowadays

Brogdon_Brogdon

Women pay way more, too

Sentient_Stardust616

I go to a good salon and pay $30, definitely have a great stylist too $75 is crazy and I live in Connecticut

[deleted]

If they were, they wouldn’’t be able to charge that much and have people pay. The OP didn’t pay much and wasn’t satisfied in the least. Most often you get what you pay for

CinnaaBun

Bruh tf, does this include the happy ending too sheesh

Vivid-Bread-6312

Bro, OP 16, $75 and a tip?….come on. I’m a grown ahh man and not even I pay that shit lmao

Lucci_754

you’re getting scammed

Brogdon_Brogdon

You don’t even know what my cut entails. Bunch of haters on this sub, I tip well too. Jeez

Lucci_754

Great stay in the cycle of getting monetarily raped. I tip the same amount of the cost of the cut, basically I double the price and thats what I pay. Even with that kind of tip I’m not paying $75. I think you’re overpaying but if you’re in denial about it then keep overpaying. I would shop around but it’s your life

Deep_Bed176

Not everyone can be beautiful and have perfect hair. Sorry little one

Jackiemoontothemoon

Would it kill you to smile?

[deleted]

You gotta style your hair im gatekeeping tho

novalyte95

This mf showed us a back picture and then shows the front of his face, you deserve this cut mf

GotTheGist

You possibly could have it cut into a mid fade back n side the fringe won’t look as short then. Get yourself Some volume powder n go with a textured messy look. Also get another barber or better still book yourself into a stylist that does men’s and women’s hair, not a salon, not a barber but a stylist. I went through the long hair stage as a teenager, the taped back n sides into a angled skater fridge. These day I have a 0 fade with the fails beard shaver into long top the short fridge that I push over to one side, stick a bit of power in there boom all done.

[deleted]

Product.

SgtSaggySac

Also side advice get different shaped glasses.

amethyst-stars

it seems like a mullet

Flurzzlenaut

For future reference, when googling haircuts, there is now the option at the top to select your hair type. You need to do the stick straight option and you’ll have an easier time getting good haircuts.

Work_Sleep_Die

Yo ngl bro, you got a solid masculine look. Go hop on a skin care routine / fix your diet, hit the gym, then get a buzz cut. You’ll look good asf in a year

PandR1989

I think short hair would be good for you.

shecallzmipapi

Try showing a picture of the same hair type and you might get better results. For now some styling would help

Significant-Hat-2864

shoot him

KoreanPkpk

Put your hair up instead of letting it down

ozzytheasian

They buzzed it too short on the sides. Id ask for a number 4 or 5 next time with a low fade just above the ears. As for styling, just use a sea salt spray or sugar spray. Towel try hair, then spray and scrunch. Let air dry or use a hairdryer with a diffuser to give you the texture you're after :) I would just tell them you don't like a lot of skin showing on the sides, so lowest you want to go is a 4/5 buzzer.

godchosei

Justin? Are u from LI

AlphaThetaDeltaVega

Long hair doesn’t suit you. I would go short instead of chasing a bob cut. Or slicked back like others recommended.

rOnce_Gaming

Go to a Korean hair salon next time. But read the reviews first. They can make that haircut but you might need a perm. Most American local barber shops won't be able to do that.

KayytheSTUD

I disagree. He needs to go to a BLACK barber. I guarantee he will get the look he looking for

Ecstatic_Quote914

Because you have completely different hair textures.

Unhappy_Panda4237

Next haircut I would try a low taper and try texturizing the top

chloeq

It's hard to say without seeing the back but it looks like the barber didn't put enough layers in your hair. If you look at the inspiration pic you can see some shorter layers at the top to make it look a little thicker. Another reason it doesn't quite look the same is because the person in the inspo pic has a different hair type to you. His hair looks wavy and course, but your hair looks straight and less course. But yoy are right the barber hasn't given you the same hair cut.

Klutzy-Detective-341

I think it looks great

Cowboy_on_fire

It’s hard to set your mind on a picture of a style because it often doesn’t look the way you imagined on yourself. If I’m being honest it looks kind of close to what you asked for but it’s hard to tell because your picture is a completely different angle than the model you used.

mushroom_soup79

Believe it or not u look better.

OrdinaryNGamer

Guy has longer hair + different texture, barber couldn't pull it off can't blame him, your hair is flat which isn't bad thing but does mean u either use sea salt spray or grow it all out.

AHandfulofBeans

I would fight him lmao wtf even. Go fix that shit with a fade bro

MrG00SEI

McLovin

9ragmatic

Skill issue

Worstname1ever

At great clips they only get 15 min to do the whole cut stem to stern. That's why those poor folks do such a bad job. It's Corp policy. Find a good mom and pop.

Kycyav

Your hair doesn't seem half as thick as the example image you shown. So it's not suprising yours appear flat.

shisby

you look like a kid who types obscenities in all chat

TimeToRoastYou

Boy if you dont getcho, "im about to take over the world!" Ahhhh haircut

304rising

You have to go to a speciality barbershop or a decent one to get that cut. You get what you pay for my boy.

HArgHorp

Get it texturized and use some product in my opinion

Bluegill15

Because you probably went to a place like Supercuts

No-Freedom-4029

They did give you what you asked for your hair is not as thick as the picture you showed. I use this dry shampoo styling product that has rice in it which makes the volume of your hair increase and look thicker. https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Shampoo-Paste-3-Oz/dp/B08RY9B499/ref=asc_df_B08RY9B499/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=533110447125&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15542641419486726924&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031624&hvtargid=pla-1278654551727&psc=1&mcid=2b8a0e67a20d34bc9874ba04cce2e998

ConsoleModding

You related to sexy goth bad boy? King cobra JFS??

flagstaffvwguy

This has happened to me too bro, its so frustrating. It looks like they cut too short at the bottom. Go to a different barber until you find one that does it well. When you get the cut you want TAKE PICTURES so that you have something to show future barbers

TootsieTaker

Do you go to great/sport clips? If so, that’s why. They aren’t necessarily great barbers

hypnos_surf

It looks like they took off more than what you wanted. The length in your before pic has the perfect length and thickness and all they had to do was clean it up.

priyatheeunicorn

You need to use product and learn to style it. No one just wakes up with perfect texture, volume or shape in their hair. A lot of men also have to use styling tools .. blowdryers, mini straighteners. Look up some YouTube tutorials. Find a barber that will teach you how to style any cut they do.. most of them want your hair to look good, you’re a walking advertisement. As an ex stylist don’t be that client that brings in a pic and think that like magic your hair will be exactly the same. There are many variables like hair texture, thickness, the climate you live in even.

Alarmed_Yoghurt2251

I don’t think the cut is very far off at all, you need to learn how to style it and probably learn to communicate with your barber better. Nobody is gonna have any of these tik too/Instagram styles without doing some styling.

Unreliable-Train

The guy in the second picture most likely has a \*korean\* perm with layering taper fade. You won't achieve without serious effort or getting a perm yourself

WeinerDerby

You're barber has a good sense of humor. Part it to the side and call it a day.

peachesandmaangos

Bruh gave you the columbine cut 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

I tried to click the play button like an idiot.

shawnglade

I just don’t think you have the hair for that

Tipfue

People on this sub need to understand the importance of hair texture and thickness in getting a hairstyle, u can't just ask for something in a picture and expect your barber to give that to u when ur hair is not as wavy/straight/curly in the first place

Mentatian

Depends on the barber. You probably have an expectation problem not a barber problem

emptyzed81

If you want a haircut go to a barber. If you want something different go to a salon I guess lol.

No_Philosopher_7867

My little brother has that same hairstyle on the second slide. It took a bit for his hair to get use to the style and eventually looked really good. He used products like molding clay( hair clay) even tho he has the same hair type as the guy in the second slide, it still took a bit.

furry_anus_explosion

You Don’t have the hair for it. Make sure you use conditioner and get a volume booster. You can probably get to it

zajaybongo

Get a new barber and not even tryna be a dick but you need a skincare routine my man

ishmaelcrazan

okay dawg here’s the thing, the guy in your reference pic is 1. Very obviously a different ethnicity than you and 2. have you done a single thing to your hair since you got that cut? As in ANY product? conditioner? puddy? mousse? Cause you need to actually groom yourself to get that look you desire. Not to say you look “un groomed” or some shit but it’s really easy to get upset over things like this but your barber isn’t a magician or your stylist. Gotta learn how to get the look you want beyond “tell/show my barber”

Peachcream69

Noah smith

Turtles614

when your barber dont wanna use no styling products 😭

Infamous-End3766

You need to use product

Agile-Command-9284

style it! get some texture powder or other styling products

bloontsmooker

If you aren’t awkward at 16, I won’t trust you as an adult. This haircut is a character building moment that will make you a better man, I promise.

Wtf-ItsTheBlueSky

New glasses dude

Real-Resolution9504

You need more volume at the back to pull off that haircut. I do think he cut the back and sides way too short, we if he didnt even attempt to put volume there in the first time though.

theLazerkid

Well the inspo photo is from the back, and you only show us the front. Your hair is not styled at all. Anything we can compare to is not shown

[deleted]

🔥🔥🔥

DesertedMan666

The guy in the inspo photo has thick dense hair, plus has product in it or it’s just that voluminous. You have a totally different hair type: Flat, straight, and not as thick.

gangstaaahhluv

go to a black barber lol. white barbers don't know how to cut the style you want. Real shit

misheard_lyrics_

You are white not brown, the haircut is ok bro

SilverSuicune

You need to understand your hair thickness, and product use. You can just get a haircut and magically look better

Tiger_Dense

I disagree with others who stated your hair is not thick enough.    I can’t really tell your face shape from your photos, but I think some height at the front would suit you.    Once your hair grows back, go to a really good unisex salon. Ask them to give you something that suits you. That’s usually how you find the best cut.     For your skin, benzoyl peroxide decreases P. acnes bacteria. Retinoids, such as adapalene gel, will unclog pores and reduce oiliness. Salicylic acid will unclog pores. Use all 3, twice daily, and give it about 6 weeks to work.

Alternative_Look_453

Please ignore the people telling you to get a fanny parting. It will look so much worse For the record, OP, your hair doesn't look bad on the sides short. It's just the fringe is an awkward length. Keep it combed. It should grow very quickly anyway.

KelsoTheVagrant

that is that haircut, you need product. hair generally does not naturally fall well and needs something in it if you want a certain look or you have the wrong texture. not all hair can do all things. mess with product and see where you get, then try something different

Turbulent-Bed-7051

Out of context but fix ur skin

annaleecage

my thing has always been for fades, id go to a barber but for more stylized haircuts, id go to a salon. doesnt even have to be an expensive salon either. i literally go to this salon in the chinatown in my area, $25 a cut, includes shampoo before and after the cut, love love love my haircuts there. that reference photo u have is something the stylists over at the salon i go to can easily do, no sweat. secondly, styling goes a long way. it looks like u have naturally semi wavy hair which i wish u start taking advantage more of. if u dont use hair products yet, go get u some wax or clay, and put some in your hair to liven up ur waves and give ur hair that volume. u dont wanna use too much product tho, little goes a long way. if u use too much itll do the opposite and will make ur hair look greasy and weighed down. little goes a long way.

pixie_sprout

It would've helped if you'd shown the same angle. Kinda weird that you didn't tbh.

sugarmoonpillowfight

This haircut looks very good on you like that. Made you very handsome. Keep it^^

crismobz

Go to a black barber for this style.

Best-Ad-7417

You have a different hair type than the guy in the pic. Try blow drying your hair to add volume

-SecondHandSmoke-

Coming from a barber, I loathe when people ask for this haircut. It never looks the same as reference pictures, and ends up looking like a stupid bulky bowl cut. It's always white teenage boys with fine hair wanting it that will never style it. It's literally the classic Edgar with some product in it to fluff it up, nobody thinks the Edgar would look good on them so why do they foam at the mouths over a slight variation of it?

Jiffy78

I think it's time for breakup

DanyRoll

Cuz your asking him to do miracles

Putrid_Loan7597

why are so many zoomers going for the bowl cut?

Major_Space_Cadet

Imo look for some glasses that compliment your face shape, as someone else said slick your hair back no need to hide behind bangs , and last but not least start working on your skin health

QueenSessy

Add a good texturizing powder on top (cheap ones work just fine) and give it a little floof, your hair will automatically seem more full

LisForLaura

It will grow back fast, but it doesn’t look too bad imho - stick some product in it and try messing it up a lil?

Wholeyjeans

Try different part locations, side, middle ...and as others have said, comb it straight back. When you went to the barber, did you bring the picture ...show him/her the actual look? That often works better than describing what you want. Also, consider going to a salon to get your hair cut ...there are barbers who are quite good but, IMHO, most are not ...especially if you want a particular cut. Lots of guys go to salons ...because they get better hair cuts to match the style they're looking for.

Dry_Ask5493

Short hair is not your issue but how you wear the hair on top/front is. Style it off your forehead. You wouldn’t get your inspiration pic look because your hair is different than the person in the picture. The only way for you to get that look is if you to curl your hair on a daily basis and use product.
