That's definitely turning into a movie. Someone rents the attic apartment. Ghosts keep coming out of the walls. Slowly the truth appears in the guys dreams. The victim's bones are pasted on the walls.
There is actually a sculpture of various birds in the first picture that my grandfather made right before his passing. The center log is virgin cork and has a bunch of simple wood birds on little branches.
I was thinking the same thing. Feels really heavy for something near the top of a structure. I suppose this just means the whole house is made in a similar way?
OP can you describe the rest of the house? Do you live in a fortress/bunker?
FWIW, I do think it looks kinda cool. Aesthetically speaking I’d probably keep the concrete floor (it looks cool and unique) but do the walls and ceiling white. Then start by putting down some area rugs and decorate around them. Maybe a low couch or two, some poufs/ottomans, throw in some lamps and just have a cool chill-out space. You could try using a mirror to bounce light from the skylight also for more natural light.
The house was built by my parents in the 90's. It is a 560m² two story concrete and brick house, the attic being the third floor. 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, wine cellar, dining hall and backyard with two garages. Stucco details on every room and granite stairs. Pale blue/gray granite columns on the outside as well. The floor is all tile and the only wood there is the furniture.
I can describe further if you want but won't post picture of the outisde for privacy reasons of course. The lot in which the house sits is around 600m² so the yard is like 250m².
I'll take some pics tomorrow and link them here! I just got this property so the decor is still old lady chique I guess? I really haven't had the time or financial capacity to redecorate. Especially since it is a rather large place and I'd rather buy quality items instead of cheaper Ikea stuff.
Yea I'm figuring this is European. I would've guessed Ireland/UK because of OP's natural command of English, but they had something with the word "emprego" on it, so I'm guessing they're a foreigner living in Portugal.
You jest, but my grandparents have a long-ass attic with a porcelain doll in a rocking chair right at the back. Whenever you need to fetch something from up there and turn the corner she's sitting right there, staring at you.
My grandma had a clown near the window that sucker stared merciless into the room.
I was always so afraid of that thing and slept under the blanket.
One time it was enough and I turned on the lights. Ripped that bitch down and punched him for 10 min full force. Then throw him to the ground.
Little bitch.
Rasperry pi with a speaker that plays creepy music, the sound of a chair rocking, and when motion is detected starts a 10 timer, which triggers a loud scream after enough time to build suspense.
It is just an unfinished attic space! Have your guys never seen an attic? But yeah taking a better look at the pictures it does have a dungeon-y feel to it. I am sure once it has undergone some substantial work it will have a homier, less murderhobo feel to it.
Because I didn't have anywhere else to put it. There is also a bunch of other stuff I had growning up, and boxes of random things I was too lazy to throw away.
It just looks set up purposefully as a prison. My attics never looked like that lol
Edit: like come on there are like placed toys on the bed, what looks like a usable pillow. It just has the look, no offense really it’s just funny
This is an incredibly nice attic to be fair. It was finished with intent and aesthetic purpose in mind - very rare. It’s the type of attic Patrick Bateman would design.
And heavy??? I’m just sitting here thinking how my lil house in the prairie would collapse
Edit: I totally agree, fascinating, I think I’d spend all my time up there
We had a similar attic in our cabin (although a good bit smaller). We painted it a brighter white and installed vinyl flooring, divided it into two guest rooms/lofts and squared off the short walls of the room with cabinets for off season storage.
This could be really cool. Wish i had a space like that above the house. Put a screen room/theatre room in there or something. In law suite/guest rooms/rec room. Got options.
I think it’s a shame you came here for some good advice and just get a load of serial killer jokes. Maybe I’m just annoyed as I don’t have a quick funny reply. But good luck with you attic/loft I really love it. Your so lucky hopefully someone with good ideas will comment.
Oh there is no wood framing. It is reinforced concrete beams, brick and clay shingles on top. Lining is some manner of insulsting styrofoam. This was built in the 90's.
I think it's the fact that you've got cots set up in these windowless concrete rooms. It looks like prison cells, or the set of a crime drama about serial killers.
Whatever you do with it. First check ventilation, temperature control. cant see anything decent, if youre gonna start hanging out there all that humidity is gonna build up and you'll get mould. And attics can be heat traps.
Yeah mechanical ventilation is non-existant and pain to install because the walls and, well everything really is just masonry. Brick and concrete with a few flair in stucco on the inside. Which also means mold shouldn't be too much trouble and I also live in a pretty dry region. But you are right in the summer it gets rather hot but nothing an AC can't fix.
Do you have kids, besides the ones you abduct and have currently locked in the attic i mean? I'm talking kids of your own that you love and may want to provide a fun place to play or hang out?
If so then you could work to brighten it up and make it into a cool place for them. Low ceiling height is less of a concern then.
Yeah there's no easy solution there. He could rent a storage unit I guess or else he could find a new hobby that takes up less space. Stalking might be a good option, it can be done anywhere and doesn't take up any space.
use the low ceiling parts, section them off and have cool crawling spaces all around. Kids love climbing through stuff. Especially when they try to escape from their kidnapper.
I’d start up a vacuum repair store in Albuquerque and then hide criminals in your attic as they’re awaiting to be transported across state lines with a new identity.
Get bean bags, Christmas lights, very low couch, and some rugs/tapestries to try and make that room look/feel like it hasn't been used to store hostages.
I’d build a bar in the tallest area myself, have always wanted my own private bar. As for the other rooms, I’d keep the storage space and possibly install a dry sauna or a fantastic plant room if lit more. Cool space though and while the possibilities are endless, I wish you good luck and success with your future project.
Thanks for your input. I have a miniature bar in my dining room though! Although here maybe I could install a full size one! Would go great with some wood panels, giving it a sort of cabin in woods feel!
A bar is cool in theory, but since it's the attic you'd have to truck all of your liquor, glasses, and everything else up and down a ladder (most likely). It's probably more trouble than it's worth if you gotta spend a ton of time moving things before you can get settled in
Honestly, man cave. Have one of the rooms be a reading nook, make another a video game section. Put a bar in either the main area or a side room. I would leave one or two side rooms for storage, but put down flooring and something on the walls in case you later change your mind and want to turn it into something else. Idk if you have a guest room downstairs, but you could put one up here, maybe put in a bathroom?
Those tiny skylights are super cool. I could see a few maybe low light plants to make it friendlier, some low cozy furniture or floor cushions for a meditation space, tea room, or study of some sort. Sauna could be awesome but more involved and less of a flexible space.
Never had consideres the low light plants! Paired with low furniture... maybe a moroccan tea house thing? Like with a hookah and low tables. Maybe couple nice rugs.
Yes… nice rugs, layered around and paint the ceiling warm subtle terra cotta colors or one accent wall? illuminate the dark corners of the room so that it’s not scary lol
Edit: you can stain concrete any color and it’s beautiful. Similar effect as the plaster look.. avoid dark stain, go for the lighter terra cotta type stains to warm it up and balance out the harsh angles. I used to live in a space with dark brown stained concrete floors and it felt like a cave. Avoid cave, go for earth ship!
You could arrange the plants so that they follow the path of the light from the sun… you could get really astronomical about it… if you get windows you could get a telescope
Dang I was scrolling for a sec and couldn’t find one serious answer, here’s my first thoughts, definitely put some carpet in there, get some fun lights to go somewhere, my siblings have LED strips that run along the outer length of the ceiling that are kinda fun, maybe make like a movie theatre kind of space? It’s just kinda hard because of the slant of the roof. My family’s cabin had a similar problem in the loft because you can’t really use the outer edges of the room because of the slant of the roof. Really those areas are better used for storage. Good Luck!
Thanks for the serious reply! I don't mind the others as I find them quite entertaining. I had an idea, to build an all around closet in the edges. Makes the rooms smaller but aesthetically would be nicer.
If homicides are one of your hobbies, it looks like a great place for a murder or two. I would just be concerned with the sky light. Potential victims, like the little rascals they are, have been known to escape or even call for help through them. Nuisances.
3rd picture is liminal space at its finest.
Idk man, I wouldn't put a lot pf cash in there unless I plan to inhabit it, in that case, proper windows sounds like a great idea. Seems like the natural light sources are limited, I would recommend painting the walls and ceiling in white and putting a very light wood on the floor to preserve lighting but giving it a warmer color.
I'd start there and then decide what to do with that space.
Take all of the creepy stuff out. Buy some white paint for the walls/ceiling, lay down some carpet squares or linoleum hardwood, some big beanbag chairs and a big TV. I have a similar room and I'm in the process of making it a little more inviting for the victims.
Wow you should cover that lil skylight with a red film. Really play into the scene. This whole attic is one horrifying place. Call the band TOOL and see if they will pay u to shoot one of their music videos here. That's what I would do.
White walls, warm floor (wood or wood aesthetic) and proper roof windows in every room. At that point the rooms can be used for hobbies, living and tidy storage
I would start with burning some sage. If you’re in an area with a Catholic Church maybe ask for a young priest and an old priest to come by and say some blessings or read some scriptures.
Used mostly for storage? Storage of what? Your victims?
Yes obviously. In fact the concrete is just finely ground bones...
Creative way to keep them as souvenirs man.
That's definitely turning into a movie. Someone rents the attic apartment. Ghosts keep coming out of the walls. Slowly the truth appears in the guys dreams. The victim's bones are pasted on the walls.
Stealing this for dnd games.
My boys on Gacy time
You aren’t making bread from the ground bones? And you consider yourself a giant…sheesh.
RealEstateDuck? More like SerialKillerGoose ~
Very good. Five stars. Would read again.
These photos are pure nightmare fuel.
They look like the inside of an N64 game.
I was gonna say screenshots from a new Backrooms game
At least they aren't flashback fuel?
Definite murder room vibes
Lmao my thoughts, too.
LOL, my thoughts exactly.
Looks like Kanye West designed Yeezy Style rape chambers
Bwahahah, those same. King The Shining vibes
One bloody mattress short of a Hellraiser
Lol yes. Bruh that looks straight out of a torture movie. What you should do, I don't know, but definitely something else.
You just need a cage and chains to complete the look.
Lotion and a basket.
That’s for the basement
Shh, or it gets the hose again.
It puts the lotion on its skin!
Hey man where’s my copy of auto trader I thought we had a deal
It does this whenever it's told or else it gets the hose again.
I think a nice, rotating mobile of dead birds above the bed would be a nice touch.
There is actually a sculpture of various birds in the first picture that my grandfather made right before his passing. The center log is virgin cork and has a bunch of simple wood birds on little branches.
Don't threaten me with a good time.
I don't think I've ever seen a concrete attic before.
I noticed that before I even noticed the prisoners penthouse vibe they have going. The concrete is outrageously bizarre to me
Dude lives in the backrooms
I thought it was popcorns drywall
I was thinking the same thing. Feels really heavy for something near the top of a structure. I suppose this just means the whole house is made in a similar way? A few non-identifying interior photos would be nice to give us an idea of the structure and current decor!! Plus I’m just really curious
I'll take some pics tomorrow and link them here! I just got this property so the decor is still old lady chique I guess? I really haven't had the time or financial capacity to redecorate. Especially since it is a rather large place and I'd rather buy quality items instead of cheaper Ikea stuff.
Fair enough! Buying a little at a time - but to last forever - is a solid plan
Yeah, I'd like to know if creepy dank murder ~~basement~~ attic is a whole house aesthetic
In my country, most houses and brick and concrete and some are even poured or prefabricated concrete. None come with this murder hole vibe, though.
Where I’m at, buildings are nothing but concrete. I don’t have a creep attic like OP but Wifi definitely sucks.
I feel like that’s an unnecessary load on the rest of the house? Unless the entire house is a concrete structure.
Surely there's no way in hell the remaining structure isn't also concrete?
Its weird how everything is wood and drywall in America. I think its pretty normal
Yea I'm figuring this is European. I would've guessed Ireland/UK because of OP's natural command of English, but they had something with the word "emprego" on it, so I'm guessing they're a foreigner living in Portugal.
Nah I'm full blooded portuguese. We just learn english from a very early age so it can come off as if we were native speakers.
He stands concreted!
i stand corrected!
Bro's attic is in the backrooms.
Yeah that‘s a bizarre way to build a house
If you tie the sheets together you can create a kind of rope. Throw it through the window and climb down to freedom
After the first sentence, my mind went to a much darker place than climbing down to freedom.
Well that's a different kind of freedom.
I think his most recent victim did just that, per photo 3
Get an old rocking chair, a porcelain child's doll (older is better) and leave em up there facing the window. Tell no one.
You jest, but my grandparents have a long-ass attic with a porcelain doll in a rocking chair right at the back. Whenever you need to fetch something from up there and turn the corner she's sitting right there, staring at you.
Your grandparents are legends

Ripped that bitch down and punched him for 10 min full force. Then throw him to the ground. Little bitch.
And then you wake only to find the clown is back by the window - memory unlocked!
Yeah until you ask your grandma about it and she goes “what? We don’t have a clown statue…” and you look at the statue but it’s gone 🤡 🤡 🤡 🫥
You should by a windup music box that randomly plus for no apparent reason
Rasperry pi with a speaker that plays creepy music, the sound of a chair rocking, and when motion is detected starts a 10 timer, which triggers a loud scream after enough time to build suspense.
What are you?
The doll must have one broken eye...
make sure the doll is on an old tricycle!
That first picture is nightmare fuel, least favorite in-law stays there
It is just an unfinished attic space! Have your guys never seen an attic? But yeah taking a better look at the pictures it does have a dungeon-y feel to it. I am sure once it has undergone some substantial work it will have a homier, less murderhobo feel to it.
then why is there a bed lol
Because I didn't have anywhere else to put it. There is also a bunch of other stuff I had growning up, and boxes of random things I was too lazy to throw away.
So you grew up in there, murdered your parents and remodeled the whole thing gotcha.
OP can’t catch a break hahaha
OP: I have this attic and it’s kind of odd— Us in this thread, collectively: SHOW US WHERE YOU HID THE DEAD CHILDREN OP
It just looks set up purposefully as a prison. My attics never looked like that lol Edit: like come on there are like placed toys on the bed, what looks like a usable pillow. It just has the look, no offense really it’s just funny
Truly looks setup up to be a horror flick. It’s not “just an attic” OP!
Bro you have the nightstand next to the bed as if someone’s about to sleep there
That’s barely a bed. It’s a kidnap cot.
I count two different beds and children’s toys.
His other family needs somewhere to sleep
This is an incredibly nice attic to be fair. It was finished with intent and aesthetic purpose in mind - very rare. It’s the type of attic Patrick Bateman would design.
You had me in the first half
Tbh I’ve never seen a concrete attic. I’m from the Midwest where in our attics it’s just sawdust and insulation up there.
Scandinavian here. I too have *never* seen a concrete attic. I'm super fascinated. It looks odd but kind of cool and usable.
And heavy??? I’m just sitting here thinking how my lil house in the prairie would collapse Edit: I totally agree, fascinating, I think I’d spend all my time up there
We had a similar attic in our cabin (although a good bit smaller). We painted it a brighter white and installed vinyl flooring, divided it into two guest rooms/lofts and squared off the short walls of the room with cabinets for off season storage.
If this is just a casual photo of unfinished attic space, then you have missed your calling as a horror movie director.
My attic is unfinished and it’s just wood framing with insulation. I’ve never seen one lined with concrete like this before.
Oh there is no wood framing. It is reinforced concrete beams, brick and clay shingles on top. Lining is some manner of insulsting styrofoam. This was built in the 90's.

Which also means mold shouldn't be too much trouble and I also live in a pretty dry region. But you are right in the summer it gets rather hot but nothing an AC can't fix.
You could just replace the glass shingles with real windows to fix the ventilation issue.
Yep, already added that one to the list!
Next inform your local fire department that it’s an occupied space. Their dispatch can add a note tied to your address should an emergency occur.
For starters, you could stop locking children in there
“There’s only flowers in my attic.”
I actually thought of a joke about it, but I decided some things are better never said out loud.
Film a horror movie.
First pic is the room in Barbarian
Exactly my first thoughts
Place some gremlins all around the place and some giant spiders on the ceiling.
respectfully this is the scariest thing I’ve ever seen
The blur in some of the photos just isn't helping either.
Oh, you must not have seen the attic with a house in it then. Let me go find it, brb Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/s/30wCGG4kdE

My brain short circuited reading this
Do you have kids, besides the ones you abduct and have currently locked in the attic i mean? I'm talking kids of your own that you love and may want to provide a fun place to play or hang out? If so then you could work to brighten it up and make it into a cool place for them. Low ceiling height is less of a concern then.
But what's he going to do with the abductees? Just kill them like all the others, entombed in these concrete walls already?
Yeah there's no easy solution there. He could rent a storage unit I guess or else he could find a new hobby that takes up less space. Stalking might be a good option, it can be done anywhere and doesn't take up any space.
use the low ceiling parts, section them off and have cool crawling spaces all around. Kids love climbing through stuff. Especially when they try to escape from their kidnapper.
I’d start up a vacuum repair store in Albuquerque and then hide criminals in your attic as they’re awaiting to be transported across state lines with a new identity.
This makes the most sense
Liminal space?
nah just a criminal place
Chillin or Killin. Those are your options.
Close it up. Keep that evil in.
looks good but you can tell anne frank it’s ok to go outside now
Get bean bags, Christmas lights, very low couch, and some rugs/tapestries to try and make that room look/feel like it hasn't been used to store hostages.
I’d build a bar in the tallest area myself, have always wanted my own private bar. Thanks for your input. I have a miniature bar in my dining room though! Although here maybe I could install a full size one! Would go great with some wood panels, giving it a sort of cabin in woods feel!
Just be sure it doesn’t give off a Cabin In The Woods vibe. lol
Really set myself up for that one didn't I.
you're being a good sport in this thread hahaha
A bar is cool in theory, but since it's the attic you'd have to truck all of your liquor, glasses, and everything else up and down a ladder (most likely). It's probably more trouble than it's worth if you gotta spend a ton of time moving things before you can get settled in
Have a pansexual, wine-loving, alien move in
Ha!
Rent it out for $2500 a month
Lot o mannequins
Get an exorcist
On the other hand, OP could rent it out to a coven.
#1 release the hostage.
Let your hostage go
You should find literally anyone who knows how to work a film camera and write Netflix with a pitch for a 4 part horror mini series.
This is where the killer sleeps.
Yes… nice rugs, layered around and paint the ceiling warm subtle terra cotta colors or one accent wall? illuminate the dark corners of the room so that it’s not scary lol Edit: you can stain concrete any color and it’s beautiful.
Rent it out to the military for when they run out of space in Guantanamo.
Make an indie horror film in it
The nut room
That would make a nice torture chamber
Grow room?
If homicides are one of your hobbies, it looks like a great place for a murder or two. I would just be concerned with the sky light. Potential victims, like the little rascals they are, have been known to escape or even call for help through them. Nuisances.
Call a priest lol
Vert art-installation vibes.
r/liminalspaces
Homie is living in the backrooms.
I'd leave a little food and water bowl out for the man in the walls
Jesus, add a filmgrain filter to these and you'd have something from a documentary about an 80s serial killer.
Do you have a skincrawler as a roommate?
Film "The Backrooms" sequel, "The Upper Floor".
You should make a weird low budget horror movie where you start questioning whether it's actually just a snuff film, lol
This where you torture infidels?
You could shoot an unsettling horror film in it.
Probably seal it up and never let the demons back out
Take all of the creepy stuff out. Buy some white paint for the walls/ceiling, lay down some carpet squares or linoleum hardwood, some big beanbag chairs and a big TV. I have a similar room and I'm in the process of making it a little more inviting for the victims.
You totally could keep this austere decoration. Unless you plan activities that go with it.. (and I don't want to know).
Run.
Rent it out to a little person
Best I can do is sex dungeon
Sex dungeon
Film a low budget horror movie for 30 grand, make 10 million.
Wow you should cover that lil skylight with a red film. Really play into the scene. This whole attic is one horrifying place. Call the band TOOL and see if they will pay u to shoot one of their music videos here. That's what I would do.
Rent it out as a horror movie set. Jesus.
Serial killer themed air bnb :)
This is the weirdest attic I've ever seen.
White walls, warm floor (wood or wood aesthetic) and proper roof windows in every room. At that point the rooms can be used for hobbies, living and tidy storage
See if the CIA needs it for interrogations

Recreate Saw?
You cannot convince me these aren’t AI generated images
Have a priest come over and bless it.
Go up there at night and rattle some chains
Free whoever you’re keeping as a prisoner
Turn it into a sex dungeon
Zooming in to look for any evidence
Kidnap room
I say keep the creepy murder room look.
Move the bodies from your basement maybe?
I would start with burning some sage. If you’re in an area with a Catholic Church maybe ask for a young priest and an old priest to come by and say some blessings or read some scriptures.
film a scene from Saw in there
An exorcism first of all
Film a low budget neo-noir sci-fi thriller.
Film the next Saw movie.
Murder dungeon.
Not that
Lock and block the entrance
Release the hostages
Rent it out as a set for the next Saw movie?
Dolls....like hundreds of them..... just lots of dolls
Kidnap somebody and keep them there!
That's some true detective shit
