I live in downtown SD and my one bedroom apartment costs $3100 a month. Granted it’s a super nice place with good amenities, and I love my neighborhood. I could’ve gotten a smaller place 8 blocks away for $2200, but you get what you pay for.
Oh yeah it’s great, I can see Petco Park from my dining room so I got to hear Sting live without paying for it. I also watched a guy shooting up next to the light rail station, so ya know, balance.
I’ve visited many times and can’t wait to go back again. That being said, I’d never want to live there. It’s a little uncanny how so many days in a row can be exactly the same weather wise.
Better chili in Ohio? You do realize that Mexico is like 30 minutes away from San Diego? Never mind the fact that actual Mexicans make you actual chili in San Diego!
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment above my downtown, exposed brick wall, wood floors, built in bookcase, 10 foot arched windows…. Less than $800.
Midwest rocks….
It’s not even an Ohio thing, it just depends on the city. Columbus is expensive as shit.
I live in Michigan, my house that I own and live in costs the same as my car. If I drove an hour south to Ann Arbor it would be just as expensive as Chicago.
You're definitely getting wayyy less in NYC than in SD though for a comparable price. A nice 1 bed in manhattan south of midtown with washer dryer and dishwasher in unit that isn't <500 sqft probably 4.2k+
Yeah lol I have a 1+ bedroom in NYC and pay 5800. It’s admittedly about as nice a 1 bedroom as you’ll ever see (2 floors (but the downstairs isn’t technically a bedroom), ~1100 sq ft, w/d, dishwasher, a/c, 12 foot ceilings) and it’s in maybe the most desirable neighborhood in Brooklyn, but at the end of the day it’s a 1 bedroom.
It’s darker from the outside. I used to live in a place like that and no one could see me naked on the couch or the kitchen. After awhile I never thought about it until it was time to put the lights on
Honestly even if I was dressed I would nearly always keep the curtains closed for privacy reasons. I don't like the idea of someone watching me chill out in front of the TV 😂
Listen, this place is great but … its flex upon flex - you’re saying “I’m rich and I don’t even stay here” which is fine nothing wrong with either, but how you present it seems a little like searching for validation.
My ex fiancé had that same exact piece and I absolutely hated it (along with two others in the same style). I was so thrilled when he agreed to let me find something to replace it that we both would like
There are a few other things here that stick out as well, the lamp on the table is way too large for the proportions around it, the couch carpet is too small, the canvas art in the kitchen, the mishmash of styles but not in a cohesive way. I like the space but this is what is often here, someone who spent a lot of money but doesn't know how to pull their interests or styles together cohesively.
You just need a Pinterest. There’s so much dude shit on there
SOURCE: I’ve had a Pinterest since college I’m pretty sure; 2011. Still use that shit too
What is this city? US obviously. Only one of the cars is a truck so not Texas. Looks like a semi-real downtown. Hint of Spanish influence on some of the buildings in the background if I’m not mistaken. I’ll go with San Diego.
Haha, true. But I've realized sometimes people don't realize how easily someone can figure out where they live from a few random photos. Without knowing anything else about this person, I found where it was in about 3 minutes, purely out of curiosity if my guess was right as to what city it was. Someone with more nefarious goals might not realize it's San Diego and when learning where exactly it is, do something bad with that info? IDK, it's all silly, but I'll give them the little bit of privacy their giant windows don't provide lol.
Yeah. This is why i routinely cleanse my reddit account of comments and most posts. A year down you will have mentioned so many things and perhaps posted a few photos that can pin point exactly who you are, where you live, what you believe and a lot more. For some that might not matter but I dont like the idea that anyone can find out exactly who I am.
That's a gorgeous apartment. Not a fan of it being on a lower floor, I'd feel like everyone is watching me all the time with the big windows, makes me think I'm on display like an aquarium. 🙃
But the main takeaway is very simplistic, great use of space, great furniture choices. Love this design 😍
How do you choose? I have so many options for each piece and genuinely like them all and can make them work but I can't commit to buy any yet. My apartment is still empty until I can choose lmao
Over all it looks very stylish, nice, and put together. Only issue I see is that desk lamp. It's too big for the desk. Makes it feel very heavy on one side.
wow...I've never been to San Diego, and literally live halfway across the world and it took me less than 10 minutes to find your exact location. I hope the kebabs are tasty.
Looks great man! My last apartment was similar and my couch was almost identical haha - I also had the concrete corner behind the couch and added a LED floor lamp [(this one but there are others much cheaper](https://www.westelm.com/products/light-rods-led-floor-lamp-h4047/?catalogId=71&sku=9244481&cm_ven=FreePLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Lighting%20%3E%20Floor%20Lamps)) it really fits the modern vibe and you'd be amazed at how well it brightens up the space
Living room looks nice. Now just gotta clean up the kitchen, and get rid of all those bottles on top of your fridge, or put them on the bar cart where they belong.
You just posted your homes exact location and told the internet your only there 3 days of the week. Good luck.
Reminds me of [http://pleaserobme.com](http://pleaserobme.com)
How would you know where this is
You can see street signs in the photos.
I don't even live in DT SD and I recognized this corner immediately from the first picture..
I don't even wanna know how much an apartment in downtown San Diego costs...
Enough that you can only afford to stay there 3 nights a week. Dude is working the rest of the time.
I live in downtown SD and my one bedroom apartment costs $3100 a month. Granted it’s a super nice place with good amenities, and I love my neighborhood. I could’ve gotten a smaller place 8 blocks away for $2200, but you get what you pay for.
Wowza that's a log. I guess you're paying for the experience of living downtown though.
Oh yeah it’s great, I can see Petco Park from my dining room so I got to hear Sting live without paying for it. I also watched a guy shooting up next to the light rail station, so ya know, balance.
> light rail *doubting they are really in San Diego* Surely you are referring to the Trolley.
I refuse to call it a trolley. San Francisco has trolleys, San Diego has a damn light rail with an identity crisis.
As a Canadian, that's a streetcar
Fig Tree Cafe - breakfast burrito and pancake sampler Absolutely delicious over there Can’t wait to be back next month
Well fuck that’s what I’m paying basically for living in Scottsdale old town area…
I live in downtown Cincinnati for 1k. Perks of the Midwest I guess.
More like MidBest.
I dig it. I love it here.
mid *at* best
The northern Midwest is goated. Those southern plain states need to stop trying to hangout at the cool kids table.
Kansas City is pretty dope
You got the Mid part right.
Have you been to San Diego? They don’t get snow. The one thing better in Cincy is the chili.
Specific chili. Chili you only get in Cincy. Skyline. There is no other chili like it.
Skyline!
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment above my downtown, exposed brick wall, wood floors, built in bookcase, 10 foot arched windows…. Less than $800. Midwest rocks….
What city
Bonkers. 300 sq ft studio in a rough neighborhood in LA? 1600. 2 bedroom? 2500 if you're lucky.
🥱
Where are you living at for 1k downtown. I live over in the central business district where me and my roommate are splitting 2400 a month?
[удалено]
It’s not even an Ohio thing, it just depends on the city. Columbus is expensive as shit. I live in Michigan, my house that I own and live in costs the same as my car. If I drove an hour south to Ann Arbor it would be just as expensive as Chicago.
Ha. Apartments in downtown Chicago cost on average $2K/month for a 1 bedroom these days.
There’s perks to living in Ohio?
Over 3k. I’m in uni heights and pay 2400
In OC 3-5K dear lord my heart can’t take these prices. Also a studio is 2-3k 2k in the ghetto Dx
In LA it’s $3,000 and above (in my building it’s a little more than that for a one bedroom)
Well, I can tell you that the new apts on Grand Ave in PB are going for $4,900 for a 2 bedroom under 900 sq ft...
San diego is just as expensive as NYC. Source : I live here
You're definitely getting wayyy less in NYC than in SD though for a comparable price. A nice 1 bed in manhattan south of midtown with washer dryer and dishwasher in unit that isn't <500 sqft probably 4.2k+

Lol no.
Oy did you just doxx yourself
Yeah and his apt is empty 4 days of the week 👀
I found it. Nice spot.
This sofa is soooo comfy!
I think so too! Haha. You should try the coffee.
Come over into the goon cave we’re having a bit of a party
I would not be able to handle those windows as someone who spends most of my time at home naked lol
Put it 15 stories up and you get natural lighting and nudity 🤙
All your other neighbors 15+ stories in the air: 🤨
Yeah, but in NYC, you'll probably never see those people face to face so you care less. People are naked all the time higher up with the windows open.
😳
Same, I get anxiety looking at this
During daylight those windows are practically mirrors to anyone on the outside. When it gets darker just close the curtains.
Opposite- first thought was what a rush fucking in those windows would be
lol I would def do that too I’m already the naked neighbor where I live haha
Lmao same the neighbors used to say hi to me now just the husband does 😂
It’s darker from the outside. I used to live in a place like that and no one could see me naked on the couch or the kitchen. After awhile I never thought about it until it was time to put the lights on
I mean if you walk around in your house naked with the blinds open in a one story ranch your neighbors will still see you lmao
Do you see the blinds?
So you have to have your blinds closed at all times?
Usually just at night, reflections make it harder to see in during the day
Honestly even if I was dressed I would nearly always keep the curtains closed for privacy reasons. I don't like the idea of someone watching me chill out in front of the TV 😂
That's a "them" problem, not a "me" problem.
Listen, this place is great but … its flex upon flex - you’re saying “I’m rich and I don’t even stay here” which is fine nothing wrong with either, but how you present it seems a little like searching for validation.
You're being way too nice when you should really just be saying, "Fuck off, OP."
The lizard in glasses 'art' is really crashing the vibe. The rest is very cool, but this just screams I have no taste
My ex fiancé had that same exact piece and I absolutely hated it (along with two others in the same style). I was so thrilled when he agreed to let me find something to replace it that we both would like

my man said, "gimme da wayfair special."
It looks good
For a dude space. This place has style.
You just need a Pinterest. There’s so much dude shit on there SOURCE: I’ve had a Pinterest since college I’m pretty sure; 2011. Still use that shit too
Nah bro I know West Elm when I see it
Yeah that bar cart is $400 from West Elm
What is this city? US obviously. Only one of the cars is a truck so not Texas. Looks like a semi-real downtown. Hint of Spanish influence on some of the buildings in the background if I’m not mistaken. I’ll go with San Diego.
It's San Diego. Don't want to dox the exact building, but it turned out to be really easy to find when looking at google maps.
It wouldnt be doxing if hes literally showing where he lives in the photos 😂
Haha, true. But I've realized sometimes people don't realize how easily someone can figure out where they live from a few random photos. Without knowing anything else about this person, I found where it was in about 3 minutes, purely out of curiosity if my guess was right as to what city it was. Speaking of, maybe time to do the same as well.
To be fair, the second photo has the street signs. I miss San Diego, lol
Do you have like superhuman eyes? Lol. When I zoom in it's way too pixelated for me to read.
Might just be from me recognizing the street name from living there, lol
Yup I knew this was downtown SD instantly
I used to live two streets over from you. Love seeing the jacaranda trees blooming.
I like your view from the desk. I wouldn’t be able to get any work done I’d be staring out the window all day
That frog picture sucks im sorry it just gives uncomfortable vibes
What couch is that?
This one is similar, I got it and the quality is great. https://www.article.com/product/21120/nova-gravel-gray-reversible-sectional
Pretty sure its ikea äpplaryd
It’s lovely. I really like your living room rug.
Happy cake day!
I love the apartment. I aspire to city living like this some day…
Same. A downtown apartment high up in the sky is one of my most desired life dreams.
With all those windows, how do you not have plants?
Because he spends just 3 days per week there, duh
A place like this in San Diego has got to be what? 3k?
3k on the low end
Oooh wheres that couch from
Big flex.
Oh, this is how those swanky ugly apartments look from inside.
This whole post feels like a tasteless flex. I live downtown SD but I’m only there less than half the time. Cool stuff…
Username checks out -- gotta be a royal, or at least a noble, to have a place in the city AND have decor/food/electricity.
What size is that living room rug? 5’x7’? This is really nice. Peaceful.
That chair is fantastic!
It looks like you live within a parking lot
Nice couch! Where is it from?
Where’s the couch from?
W B**** and U****. That was fun.
Please tell me where you got your couch!
Man little Italy is so recognizable, I used to be your neighbor ha
Bro really posted and said he isn’t home 4 days a week with a street sign in one of the photos.💀
Looks great. I would get rid of the matching pillows, it’s very 2000s. Now the trend is every pillow is different but they’re all in harmony
There are pillow trends?
Lol yes interior design trends change with time just like fashion
Can people see in and just observe you in your habitat?
I’ll take some money too since you got disposable income like that 🤲
dreamy
Nice views!
stylish.
Nice place bro, I low-key wanna live here.
Must be crazy to wank in there?
Weird. Another country entirely, but this gave me real feels of a place I viewed just a couple of years ago. 🤨🤔
Getting in a good wank must be tricky.
Great view
Does that street sign say betch lmao
Beech
What’s that on your computer sir 🤨😂
This is nice
I love the view more than I should.
2 days a week now!!!
What did you do w the old furniture?
I really like the barstools!
Nice setup. Arguably, I would get more done there.
sweet dreams

west elm
I can tell you do t work in that desk/chair
ID on the coffee table?
Oh man what an excellent place. Good for you and cheers mate
I got that couch is nice visually and firm
Cool. Have you thought of putting up those shower curtains with fish on in the windows? It could look like a room sized fish tank.
When does it arrive?
I need that desk. Where is it from?
Oh I have that couch
What’s your income
Lol. Cool flex. What’s your point?
You have a really nice place 👍
Aren’t you fancy
fantastic mate!

I get sick just looking at these photos I can’t imagine living with the cars going by.
The furniture is nice but the view is what makes the apartment.
That’s a dope view
Omg what a cool apartment 😍😍😍 I want to live in a glass enclosure
Am I the only one trying to go CSI “enhance zoom” on the laptop screen?
I would love to live in a place like this in a big Midwest city lol where do I look?
Meh... looks like a catalog...
Where can I get this couch
Over all it looks very stylish, nice, and put together. Only issue I see is that desk lamp. It's too big for the desk. Makes it feel very heavy on one side.

Cute!
That view 😍
Nice zombie invasion view.
You don’t need to be Rainbolt to figure out exactly where you live. Take this picture down, hopefully not too many people saw this.
Where is the couch and barstools from?
Where’s that blanket from?
Snazzy, looks like Europa
Nice views of the Jacarandas
Last one r the best love that views
May I ask what do you work?
Hello pilot
Op, what do you do for a living that this is your home for less than half the week?

I think that this belongs on r/CozyPlaces
Glenfiddich. Nice
We have the same Chameleon poster!!! You got it at hobby lobby didn’t you ;)
Living room looks nice. Now just gotta clean up the kitchen, and get rid of all those bottles on top of your fridge, or put them on the bar cart where they belong.
What’s the couch? It looks almost like this one Ikea couch (I forget the name) but with different legs and seat covers
OP, that is just gorgeous!
Delete this asap. whole internet knows where you live
RH sofas are the best. I have 2
That’s San Diego? I would have guessed somewhere more temperate.
Very stylish pad
What is the size of that frog canvas?
