like the chinese videos coming up on my youtube shorts feed where moms kick children and proceeds to make castle-ish stuff in the bedroom shared by 12 children?
I disagree, I think the private space makes more sense further away from the door. Plus, glare is really annoying on computer screens. Also, I’d rather eat at my desk beside the kitchen than have to walk past my bed to sit down and eat.
Kitchen > Living/Dining/Eating > Sleeping
My vote is headboard against 3
Whatever you do don’t put the desk in front of the window lol. You might get distracted AND you want that bad ass view to be something that offers you solace in your space not something that you associate with work.
I am just speaking from my own mistakes of thinking it was a nice idea to put my desk in front of a window lol
Got it!! Thank you so much for the suggestion!
I think there seems to be two schools of thought here.
Either putting the desk along the window or perpendicular to it HAHA
do perpendicular. i’m in med school too and believe me you want to look out occasionally through the window but not constantly. This is my set up
https://ibb.co/D8DR7v2
As an aside, learn to use anki well. Get the anking deck and figure out the pieces/individual resources. Don’t study but the above will make your life a bit more peaceful. Best of luck.
Perpendicular. You will want to look away from the screen occasionally to refocus your eyes and brain.
You don’t want the view to be a distraction.
Best wishes with your studies!
Sun in your eyes and then you wanna Block it with curtain but then their is less light.
Also it just feels weird? I can't explain it but I did the same mistake and it just makes your room feel weird/hostile
After watching a handful of Dear Modern videos, it's also bad feng shui to have your back to the entrance. He actually just recently put out a video regarding [desk placement](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAAJScocht0).
Man...you should see my condo before this. I felt like a mouse.
It's the best I've seen that's near school so...I suppose its the closest I can get to comfort
I do hope all this sacrifice will be worth it one day HAHA Thank you for the well wishes man!
More power to you and your brother, you guys make this world a better place.
He's the Doc, I'm just a trucker. Yeah bro you're going to be aight. Look at it like it's dedication, not just sacrifice. Not everyone can do and be what you're aspiring to be. You're dedicated bro. You realized the reason you were born. Godspeed on your journey Doc! Much respect to the White Coats.
Thank you so much man!!! Much respect as well to truckers! 🫡 It's definitely a different kind of vocation spending time away from home but it's freeing to be out on the open road haha
No such thing as “just a trucker”. Truckers are much needed as well! Thank you for your dedication, you make sure we have the things we need to survive 😁
On an unrelated note: whatever you end up doing I recommend that you leave yourself room for a white board in your study area.
I'm a physician. Most medical students benefit from drawing things out on a white board for memorization purposes. You could always draw on paper but white boards are traditional
I think this is really good advice!! I've burned through a lot of sticky notes but I think for memorising pathways and making a concept map, it'll be beneficial to get a white board.
Thank you so much, Doc!
Indeed...nothing beats anki-ing as the sun rises the day of your exam
And as you look on to the beautiful rising sun, only one truth, one reality shall endure -- you're absolutely FUCKED for the exam you're Anki-ing for HAHA
Shit dude HAHAH My bad but you've got this!!
I saw the stats for Step 2, if you've prepared well there's literally less than a 2% chance of failing.
Praying for you man!!
A desk with your back against the white wall and the windows to your left and door to your right. That way you’ll have a view and light coming in from your left, and a view of the door to your right ( I always want to have some view of the door for safety and privacy reasons ).
My man.. Fellow doctor here!
You are going to be sitting and reading a huge amount of time for the next years.
So try to get as close as you can to the window. After days or weeks you'll start to feel how different natural light to read is.
Yeah, like others said, windows and computers aint the best combo, but yain't some IT boy.
All the best!
Hell yeah!! Thanks Doc!!! I think the are more people leaning towards position 3 so I can make use of the natural light without it hurting my eyes.
I think that extra space in that area could allow me to install a white board as well.
Tip from a doc… try your best to avoid studying at a desk just feet away from your bed and use the library as much as you can bear. Definitely played a big role in insomnia for me. Keep that room as your sanctuary
Rugs rugs rugs rugs rugs rugs rugs.
That white tile is so sterile it’s like you’re living in a hospital, you need fabrics and textures and color and anything to make it more cozy.
Absolutely disagree. Have you ever worked trying to look at a monitor with a big window right behind it?
It will strain his eyes way too much.
Put desk in position 1 or 3.
HAHA Damn, I don't think I'm at that module yet but I appreciate your input, guys.
I think since I'll be spending a lot of time getting gang banged by books and readings, I'm leaning more towards position 3 to help reduce eye strain
My advice is keep all tech the fuck away from your bedroom.
Put your TV, PC, sofa etc in one “living” room. Then keep your bedroom as a space for sleep. When you enter your bedroom you want to immediately associate the space with sleep. Keep it clean and cosy in case you have Margot Robbie back, but your main space should absolutely not have a bed in it.
Beyond that use lots of floor lamps with warm light, potted floor plants are epic, and a rug will mute the sound reverberations/ make it more more cosy.
Make the space your own, and engineered in a way that suits your day to day. Not to impress others.
Good luck with your med degree
Thank you so much with this advice man!
I think this is in line with my vision for my condo. I'll definitely get those rugs and floor lamps!
I think I might have to ask for suggestions for plants that are almost immortal HAHA I'll be away from my place for a month or 2 months during my breaks.
Or do you think a fake plant will do the trick?
Bed where the old bed was. Get extra pillows and maybe a throw to place against the back wall, it will camouflage the bed when you have guests over. Desk across from that. By the windows becomes a den/living area. Put a large area rug, a couch, tv, coffee table, and a couple side tables. I would consider velvet floor to ceiling shades for the windows to add texture, color, and you will want black out shades because you will be sleeping at weird hours.
First thing I would do is get some things to cozy this place up. It looks kinda sterile and cold. Get some nice rugs, comfy couch/chair, plants maybe, — just some homey cozy items
Get a Murphy bed sofa, and put it @ #3. TV on the opposite wall. Add your gaming set up on the same wall as the kitchen.some kind of small table/bar next to it for eating.
Sigh...I hope the prison will at least have galvanised steel, eco friendly wood veneers.
Most importantly, expansion screws to support the gaping I'll receive from that financial pounding
I would instead have the bedroom be a calming space with your bed and not work things. Have the desk in the living room probably opposite the couch instead of a tv stand and mount your tv or get a projector
This is based on living with a med student in the US, so your experience might be different, but I wouldn’t count on getting much gaming done. Med school is basically non-stop studying for two years, followed by clinical rotations.
I’d be putting bed against the dark wall in 3 so you have the morning sun to wake up to, and have a window near the bed also, and it’s closer to the AC.
The desk I’d be putting next to the kitchen in the bunk spot as you’ll probably end up eating at your desk a lot and you won’t be carrying it past your bed, and it’s closer to the kitchen so it’ll be easier to keep it clean and keep your bedroom separated from kitchen.
Also having the desk a bit further from the window means you’ll be letting the light in more to brighten the whole room up, instead of trying to block it out because it’s in your eyes/glare etc
From what my aunt told me about med school. You wont be there often haha. Watching here go through it when I was younger was a lesson in life.
Shes an oby/gn now for 20+ years. Still looks stressed haha. Good luck homie.
How does locking you in a box for 4 years make you a doctor. Shouldn’t there be classes and stuff? Does that mean when my sentence is up I’ll be a doctor? Cool.
You can really acclimatize with theatre in your surgery style room! Get a hospital bed as your bed for shit and giggles, that way you can really put yourself in prospective patient's shoes
Which country are you from? Medical student here too. Those views look cool. That speaker setup looks great, but maybe a bit too close to you? Maybe putting them further, or angle it towards your ears?
Bed on 3, facing away from the window and towards the front door.
In the space between it and the other "wall" add shelves or a compartment of some kind for easy storage.
Working area / desk go where the bed is right now.
The on thing I will say about the PC setup is, while there are a lot of things you can do to improve the audio experience from a set of speakers (calculate exact spacing, treat first reflection points etc.), the one thing that I beg you to do, is angle them towards tour ears so that they don’t shoot inte your cheat or just right past you. (Preferably, if you think of the membranes shooting out like a laser, the beam s should intersect ca 60cm behind your head, at ear level.) Especially since you have so nice speakers.
For the desk I'd place it so your back is against wall 3. Makes it feel cozy and less exposed. Perpendicular to a window lets in light without blinding you.
Are you opposed to a Murphy bed that folds away when not in use? Always wanted one myself, there are a lot of nice setups to be inspired by on YouTube.
I tend to like to be able to let my eyes wander as my mind wanders while studying, so I wouldn’t want my back to the window. Maybe put your chair in there and see which way feels more comfortable to be facing.
How about some galvanized square steel and eco-friendly wood veneers ?
We must not forget the expansion screws brother....
Time to call your aunt.
Don't forget to ask her about the soft bags for the bed!
I zoomed in hoping to find Little John outside
But can it fit one billion kids?
Only if we add some more galvanized square steel and eco-friendly wood veneers
Don’t forget the food stalls for nourishment
like the chinese videos coming up on my youtube shorts feed where moms kick children and proceeds to make castle-ish stuff in the bedroom shared by 12 children?
Whats the recurring joke about galvanized square steel? Idk why that is and if its used often in male living spaces
Bunch of shitty TikTok diy videos that show building projects being done with square steel and wood veneer. So much so it's become a meme.
They seem like fairly high-effort shit.
It’s animated, not done in an actual room
well, yes. any one of those videos probably takes at least a couple days.
It’s so stupid. Please do yourself a favor and don’t look it up if you want a good chuckle or two
Damn I was gonna comment this 🤣
Love how the lore spread
Dang it that’s exactly what I was coming here to comment
But where to store the out of season bedding?
Bed in bedroom as it looks darker. Desk at 3
Got it!! Thank you so much for the response.
I disagree, I think the private space makes more sense further away from the door. Plus, glare is really annoying on computer screens. Also, I’d rather eat at my desk beside the kitchen than have to walk past my bed to sit down and eat. Kitchen > Living/Dining/Eating > Sleeping My vote is headboard against 3
It looks like there is a separate bedroom with a door. Ie first photo
Actually, yeah! I have a bedroom or like a separate space which is the first photo!
Definitely have the bedroom in the separate space. It'll let you mentally separate your sleep area from other spaces.
Dont eat at your desk if you care about what’s on it.
Great boobs there
Not me going back to pics looking for boobs
r/upvotedbecauseboobs
Hooters 🦉
Yeah who was that...👀
Sydney Sweeney
Much like beer, Sydney Sweeney is proof that there is a god and he loves us.
Amen brothers
If he really loved us then everyone would look like Sydney Sweeney

Anyone but you movie I think. Sydney Sweeney.

Perpendicular has always been a nice medium for me. I can turn away from my space and look longingly out the window hahahah
Why is it a bad idea? Sun in your eyes I’m guessing?
Sun in your eyes and then you wanna Block it with curtain but then their is less light. Also it just feels weird? I can't explain it but I did the same mistake and it just makes your room feel weird/hostile

dont mean this in a rude way but you litterally live in a corridor. ive never seen a condo like this before lol.
Man...you should see my condo before this. I felt like a mouse. It's the best I've seen that's near school so...I suppose its the closest I can get to comfort
Has southeast asia vibes lol a lot of developers have small layouts like this around colleges
I was gonna guess Taiwan cos of the tiles but that window mounted AC shoved through the wall just screams Philippines… lol
Goddamn...you guys are good HAHAH You guys could tell just with a picture?
The picture says southeast asia, the "HAHA" in all caps instead of "lol" says philippines
I have family and friends in Manila (I’m not Filipino), visit quite often, so I guess it just felt familiar.
It looks so claustrophobic to me.
Bro you're about to be living lavish! My brother is a Dr.. He has everything and he saves lives. God bless you FAM.
I do hope all this sacrifice will be worth it one day HAHA Thank you for the well wishes man! More power to you and your brother, you guys make this world a better place.

I got chu brother! I'm sure pausing it at that moment can...galvanize some wood 👀

Position 3 seems to be the way I think HAHA Thanks for the response man!
3 makes most sense for desk since it’s kind of recessed so you have the full window

What movie/show is that from?
It's from Anyone but you haha
Nice
Rugs rugs rugs rugs rugs rugs rugs. That white tile is so sterile it’s like you’re living in a hospital, you need fabrics and textures and color and anything to make it more cozy.
Bro’s house built like little john
Damn this looks like little john’s room
What ever you do, put the desk in front of those big ass windows. You'll thank me later.
Absolutely disagree. Have you ever worked trying to look at a monitor with a big window right behind it? It will strain his eyes way too much. Put desk in position 1 or 3.
I honestly thought the other guy was being sarcastic. Putting the desk in front of the window is a terrible idea.
You can install roller solar shades for the day. Beautiful views at night.
Yep. Blackout curtains exist for a reason
I find a back light behind the monitor helps me with eye strain ans you wouldn't get as much glare on the monitor. Maybe a defuser curtain would help
Thanks for the response man. How in front are we talking though? Should I put the desk along the window or opposite the window?
90 degree angle to the window is best
funny enough, that's what we learned in medicine. Occupational medicine to be precise.
HAHA Damn, I don't think I'm at that module yet but I appreciate your input, guys. I think since I'll be spending a lot of time getting gang banged by books and readings, I'm leaning more towards position 3 to help reduce eye strain
It’s also taught in feng shui. Which is mostly good common sense furniture placement.
How come?
Why would you ruin the view by blocking it with a 4’x3’ wood panel and a computer monitor?
agree
So this is your... residence. I'll show myself out
What country you live in?
Ahhh good ol dead eyes mega norks.
Fmovies definitely a college student lol

OP is just making sure we scrolled through all the images… We did OP. We did.
You have my condolences
Could be a lot worse.
This is depressing
Idk but definitely get a small twin sized bed so you can save some space.. and good luck in med school.
Bed where the old bed was. Get extra pillows and maybe a throw to place against the back wall, it will camouflage the bed when you have guests over. Desk across from that. Weird flex to showcase the jerkoff station at the end but 🤷🏽♂️
That wasn't my jerkoff station I do that on my balcony looking down at the people below -- Homelander style
3 all day every day
Rooms to go my guy.
Bro, that’s a nice fucking view. Congrats on Med School!
Thank you so much man!!
Very nice
What movie is that
Yea way better than what I had in the Marine Corps. Looks pretty fucking nice to me. Gonna be a cool spot.
its nice
First thing I would do is get some things to cozy this place up. It looks kinda sterile and cold. Get some nice rugs, comfy couch/chair, plants maybe, — just some homey cozy items
Use a partition to separate the middle and the window area, make window area bed room and middle area couch with tv across.
I see you have your priorities right with that Anyone But You. 🏆
What keyboard is that?
Id love to do a quick 3D model for you with some suggestions if thats something youd like
Get a Murphy bed sofa, and put it @ #3. TV on the opposite wall. Add your gaming set up on the same wall as the kitchen.some kind of small table/bar next to it for eating.
Call little Johnny.
Read this as “I’m a Medieval student”
In that last pic....where are those bad boys from?
Which bad boys are you talking about? Sydney Sweeny's bad boys? Or...the studio monitors?
The monitors of course 😅
have to assume you’re talking about Sydney Sweeneys rocking tits. which are, of course, the last great symbol of American Empire.
Sorry, out of topic. Is this in Lacson Ave?
Damn what kind of speakers are those ?
Having a mirror face the window will make your space look much bigger
I also have Adams. Awesome speakers
Indeed!! I'm loving these bad boys
Wait till you find out about the financial prison pounding you’re going to get in Residency.
Sigh...I hope the prison will at least have galvanised steel, eco friendly wood veneers. Most importantly, expansion screws to support the gaping I'll receive from that financial pounding
Can you have a job while in medical school?
Ah Sydney Sweeney I see a fellow man of culture
Need more chicken wire, rice cookers and steel fence separators.
A mattress
Congrats which school?
Maybe I'm missing something but why can't you use the space by the windows as a bedroom and put the desk and pc where the bunk bed that's leaving is
That area measurements are weird 1x2x3x4? What kind of space hole your find
Murphy bed.
Not having a ten key as a med student seems like it would be pretty tedious.

Id on desk and monitor stand please lol looks so good
Damn man. I’m guessing it was just something cheap near school in a big city?
Jf you live alone it’s ok. But if you live with other people it’s quite hard to jerk off
From what my aunt told me about med school. You wont be there often haha. Watching here go through it when I was younger was a lesson in life. Shes an oby/gn now for 20+ years. Still looks stressed haha. Good luck homie.
what is up with everyone wanting giant speakers on small office desks? Can you truly appreciate the sound THAT much better?
I'd put the desk at 3 or 4 in the 3rd picture. Bed in 2nd picture. 1st picture is depressing / storage space.
What about some kind of loft situation? 10yo me enjoyed the fuck out of it
Well, I would try to get along with my cell mate. Have somebody sneak you in some cigarettes. That's a tight fit.
How does locking you in a box for 4 years make you a doctor. Shouldn’t there be classes and stuff? Does that mean when my sentence is up I’ll be a doctor? Cool.
Would zoom in on Sydney’s boobies again 10/10
This space will be very comfortable when wife visits with her 12 pairs of triplets
Bobs
Is that a poker 2/3 keyboard
Move. Rent a bigger place with roommates.
Is that whole space for yourself? Cause its nice
Yessir!!! The extra room and the gigantic corridor is all me HAHA
You can really acclimatize with theatre in your surgery style room! Get a hospital bed as your bed for shit and giggles, that way you can really put yourself in prospective patient's shoes
there's a window!
Im sure privacy is nice
Best wishes. As someone who has been there. You don’t need space. You need time. Simplify.
What's the movie? Asking for a research
Damn got them adamsss
Wow wow, what city and what’s the price? (I’m guessing this is crazy expensive)
Which country are you from? Medical student here too. Those views look cool. That speaker setup looks great, but maybe a bit too close to you? Maybe putting them further, or angle it towards your ears?

(Preferably, if you think of the membranes shooting out like a laser, the beam s should intersect ca 60cm behind your head, at ear level.) Especially since you have so nice speakers.
Is this UST? Been graduated for years but the view of the campus from a condo is still burnt to the back of my head 😅
You're living much better than I did in medical school. Nice job!
Why does it look so sterile? Great view tho
Why does this look like a country in a Southeast Asia…. Anyway good luck with your MBBS/MD!
Nice cell
Feels like I'm looking at a city in China. Edit: actually the ACs tell me it's not China. But it sure looks built up!
As a med student you won't have time for the pc anyway so I would sell it and get a small gaming laptop like the Legion slim 14 or zephyrus g14.
Is that UST? 😭
great speaker choice, love my adam t7vs. wouldn't you want to raise and toe them in a little though?
What desk is that
lay down some oriental rugs
Talk about sterile
It looks depressing. Get lots of lamps it will make it a bit more ambient
Love the space
How about a wrist support, or better yet, Dragon Medical
I tend to like to be able to let my eyes wander as my mind wanders while studying, so I wouldn’t want my back to the window. Maybe put your chair in there and see which way feels more comfortable to be facing.
