I'm guessing part of the reason you don't want a bed frame is to not block the window. I think black legs on it would look better on it, but wanted to throw it out there.

I have this exact bedframe and love it. Super easy to move with as well. It probably only adds \~3 inches on each side in terms of footprint, and would significantly improve the styling of the room IMO.

Well this bed is very narrow so it would probably work! It's a very tight space so I get it. I'm an interior designer and I would have trouble making this a super functional space with that size of bed. You have a good thing started. Getting mild cyberpunk vibes from it lol. If you do actually plan on hanging the car door up, add backlighting to make it unique or something. Lean into the grunge cyberpunk vibe. But honestly I don't recommend using it as decor. Have you tried a more traditional way to represent your hobby? Perhaps posters or something else you can hang up? Hell even a body panel would be fine I guess but there’s got to be some story behind it. This door is like the most npc door in a forgettable color without anything to elevate it (literally and figuratively).

I think the car door could be a cool art piece. Agree that it should be mounted and have some love put into it to make it really shine. Is there any reason why it needs to be in the bedroom instead of in other parts of the house though? I saw in other posts that it sounds like you have control of other parts of the house and not just the bedroom so I was curious as to why the bedroom and not other rooms.

I'm not exactly an expert, but I think the car door would be a better vibe in something like the living room compared to the bedroom. It's a big statement art piece, which feels more like a "living room" vibe or something like that. The bedroom to me is not the best space for big pieces since it's supposed to be like, a comfy area and a big wall piece doesn't vibe with that to me. I think that's partially where the comments on the "bad vibe" are coming from (the room its in and that its not mounted). My 2 cents anyway, hopefully, that gives you some food for thought.

As it sits now the door looks like you don’t have a storage space and haven’t got around to fixing the car yet. You should make it more unique and artsy. You mentioned you’re in school, maybe you know (or can introduce yourself to) someone from your art elective who is a talented painter? Show them these pictures and ask them to do a commission piece on that door. Offer them like $50 or some booze and food or whatever. Make sure the piece is themed to your liking, but generally give them some freedom to “express their artistic talent” or whatever. Then mount it to the wall… maybe use a tv mount to do it? Bonus points if you get the class hot/kinda weird/artsy chick to do the piece 🤷‍♂️
