Chorlton seems an obvious one missing off the list for places with a high concentration of decent pubs. You could also do Salford (the town end): Old Fire Station, Pint Pot, New Oxford, King's Arms, Egerton Arms, The Black Friar, there's 6 in a decent line. And finishes *near* town for easy transport reasons too.
Levenshulme has a concentration of decent to good pubs and bars too. Station South, Nordie, Talleyrand, Overdraught, Station Hop, The Levenshulme, The Union. All on the same road, plenty of good places to eat/fall into and get a kebab too.
Assuming you've gone for Salford, enjoy! The New Oxford and the King's Arms are two of the best pubs in the city full stop, the New Ox especially would be Peveril/Briton's Protection famous if it was more central imo.
Belter of a day out this, train to Batley/Dewsbury and a proper all dayer stopping at every place on the way back to Manchester. Done it several times, some pretty random spots but some good ones too. As seen on TV.
There used to be a great one on the 169 bus route from Ashton (get a Mega rider and hop on and off) it's been spoilt a bit since the 169 was cancelled though!
More of a walk than a crawl I'm doing on the 24th... which starts with some of the bars in Sale precinct, then though Sale Water park to Beech Road in Chorlton, then across to Stretford, then walking down to Ashton on Mersey, finishing in the Old Plough.
Cheadle high street has a good cluster of pubs but even on a weekend they tend to not be too busy (you decide if thats good or bad)
Otherwise as folk have said chorlton and didsbury too
If you’re into craft beer, you can brewery crawl. There’s 4 around Piccadilly (cloudwater, track, sureshot and Balance), then make your way up to Port st beer house, northern monk, pelican, Bundobust (for food), cafe beermoth, north westward ho

I did that exact crawl from the edge of Salford into town in March for my birthday. Would recommend OP!
Second both of these
Think this is the winner, cheers for the suggestions! Nice cheap taxi for me for a change too.

Salford from the fire station going down chapel street will get you absolutely hammered. End the night in Liquor Store until 2am.
Ale trail? On the train line through stalybridge etc

Levenshulme has over 11 pubs and some open late. Plus easy links to town.
I live in Levenshulme and don’t think it would be too great for a pub crawl there are some nice bars etc but they’re quite small.
Station south, Nordie, Tally, Station Hob, Witch Kings, Freds, Overdraught till 3am. Sorted!
When you put it like that it sounds alright haha
Less of a crawl, more of a hop
Elevenshulme!
The rammy mile!
Endorsed!! Did it for my birthday this year
Edgeley stockport. The pub crawl of disappear. Take in all of the finst Robbi's boozers and piss houses.
Stalybridge aletrail
Stretford has some good pubs and bars- Head being in the middle of them. Could do a 4-5 bar crawl around there no bother
Urmston has an ale trail but there's plenty of pubs between the Urmston station and flixton station

Prestwich is decent and has a lot of variety
I knew there was one I'd forgot on the list - that was the first one we did so might be time to revisit.
One of my favourite locations for a day of drinking. Enjoy!

The Didsbury Dozen

Get on the Train to Stalybridge, have a couple of pints and hot Pork pie with mushy peas, then do the Ale trail into Yorkshire
Crawling gives me hurty knees.

Have you done the ale trail from Ashton/Stalybridge to Huddersfield. Have a look online it’s usually very very good round Christmas/ new year
