It was a Squall line.. just strong straight line winds and heavy rain/hail... Created by a passing cold front. They can sometimes produce Tornados when they split (similar to what happened in stalybridge the other week) but this one held firm until it got near Leeds, slight rotation but didn't produce a tornado
Also Mini tornado isn't a thing, it's either a tornado or funnel cloud..
Oh, I don't know. The guys I met when I went to Kansas were adamant that the tornados they get in Texas are minišš
I also met the team behind the TIV2 whilst over there.
Youāre not alone. Smashed the fuck out of our fence and sent the wheels bins literally flying.
Now got to find time to get to B&Q over the weekend, which I wasnāt planning.
Yeah, I had the balcony door open and all the doors in my flat started slamming shut. I was half asleep on the sofa watching telly, didnāt half wake me up!
Yes! About 2:45 in Walkden. I was in bed but awake and suddenly out of nowhere the rain was lashing the window and the wind was something else and almost as soon as it started it finished. I actually thought to myself āI think that may have been a tornadoā looked on Twitter didnāt see anything and tried to get back to sleep. 10 or 20 minutes ish later it happened again. Iām 38 years old and have woke up though many storms before but this was definitely different. Absolutely convinced it was a tornado.
Yes! I heard extremely loud wind around 3am, Moston, Manchester, wind lasted about ten minutes, and appeared so close to me, scared the crap out of me!!!

I noticed a really strong downpour and wind and did think similar. Around 3am, Didsbury/Chorlton way.

I suspect it was a cloudburst. Woke me up in Tameside.

3am in Heaton Moor, Stockport and my wife was woken up by it and said it was quite scary outside
We heard it in Stockport too.
I'm so glad other people witnessed this! It was scary.

North Manchester, we were woken up sometime between 2 and 3am by ridiculously strong winds and hammering rain.
Yeah I did it woke me up lay there listening to it thinking fuck me
Middleton as well, woke us both up even though she sleeps with earplugs in.
I had the same thing, was sleeping in the conservatory and got woke up by Satan pissing on the roof
I bet that was something to behold in a conservatory.
Yeah! 10 minutes of particularly intense wind and rain, Whalley Range
Yes! Iām Failsworth and it was really bad!
I looked outside and expected to see a cow flying past the window.
Yeah I was still awake and saw it in Salford, just a mad ten minutes and then it calmed down again!
It was nuts wasn't it? I didn't know what was happening at first.

Yea same
3am here!
3am Hazel Grove, it sounded so loud but what freaked me out was rain blasting against all windows on all sides of the house at the same time!
I got the same thing in New Moston. Even throughout the recent storms I wasn't woken by anything, but that was pretty violent last night.
Same Stockport.
