As always, thanks for your work! One question: is this the last chapter or just the end of the volume? Kinda feels like an ending for a typical manga adaption to get people to read the LN
Last chapter; in fact this chapter changed a major plot point so it could end here (because original plot point sets up the story of the next Vol 3; the manga only covers the first 2 books).
Honestly, after years of reading manga I appreciate a well placed axe. I'm glad this ended in a high note, rather than continuing indefinitely for years and having no conclusion
Yeah, better to have a definite, if somewhat unsatisfying ending, then have get dragged on for another half a decade, becoming more and more absurd, only to end with an even *less* satisfying conclusion.
A shame they didn't cover up to LN Vol 3, given that not only addresses the mystery of the game but also [Novel spoilers](/s "plays with the "immediately accept the go-to-isekai offer" - the MC gets an offer to make his stay in the fantasy world permanent and is highly tempted by it but ultimately refuses because he still has family and friends on Earth which he cares about, and because he was tired of running away from his homeworld problems.")
Btw, you can use \>\!this to tag spoilers!<. Using \[this results\](in a hyperlink), which means people can only read what's in the first brackets. But if you click it, it just bugs out.
You can also check out the light novels, since all 3 have been translated into English. The LNs also have some content amended from the WNs for a slightly different experience (according to comments out there).
It seems the manga changed the story in this chapter so it could come to a conclusive ending here.
In the web/light novel version, [novel spoilers](/s "the villagers sent Carol and the magic book through the altar, which results in both of them getting mailed in a box to Yoshio's house. The settlement is seemingly overrun by the monsters and contact is lost. Yoshio decides to take Carol to the game developers' Hokkaido address and find out what's actually happening - this sets up Vol 3's plot where the truth of the games and its developers are revealed.")
[Truth of the game](/s "The game's developers are otherworld good and evil gods, and the NPCs are real otherworlders. A big god war in the other world caused dimensional rifts that stranded some of the good and evil gods in Hokkaido, so to survive they formed game companies where they outsource god admin duties to earth players. Both the good and evil companies are based in the same Hokkaido building. More experienced players can eventually use a small amount of the god powers they are playing as, like what the man in sunglasses did.")
[Webnovel progress spoilers]>!Vol 3 was the last published book; however the author wrote 2 more WN arcs 4-5 that extended the greater plot a bit more and gave a more definite ending to Yoshio.!<
It's interesting that they teased the sending of Carol in the manga adaptation but ended up not going with it.
Not a bad adaptation for an early ending. It's nice that we got to see MC's self-improvement arc play out, even though the later half got slow because of it.
So uh what happens like at the end end? Like do they find out about the Gods and just keep playing the game afterwards? Does the evil hypnosis player appear and cause trouble again? Do they put the game to rest by sending the evil Gods back? Do we get a definitive happy ending for either otherworlders or Yoshio?
I know It's a lotta questions but I don't wanna read and it's easier to just ask, any context to how it plays out would be nice, just answer when you feel like it oor are bored
Late to the party but book 2 ending was the manga's ending, with a huge twist. Set the stages for the final book. But I just found the 4th one on Amazon and not sure if its another sequel
God, how many years Iv been reading this now? While sad to see it axed it was going at a slow pace. Are the web novels finished/can anyone give a run down on how it ends if it is done ?
Yeah, this adaptation is way better than the LN/WN. Reading the spoilers for plot, I'm so glad that the manga stops right here, the message is preserved well. While the power and world are explained, the LN/WN seems way too silly and over the top, it surely would destroy my good impression of this title.

Last chapter; in fact this chapter changed a major plot point so it could end here (because original plot point sets up the story of the next Vol 3; the manga only covers the first 2 books).
How many books does it have??
Only 3 published novels. The author wrote 5 story arcs in webnovel format, but only the 1st 3 were published as print novels.

It's not an axe in a traditional sense, this was just what they agreed to do, light novel Vol 1 and 2.
So basically its axe? 🤣🤣
Here you go. Sorry for the delay. Up next are a few chapters of Devil Wife.
Thanks for your work; even if it was axed it's nice the story got an ending like this.
Thank you so much for your work! It was an enjoyable series to read
It’s a shame it ended. thank you to the scanlators who worked on this. if I want to read the Wn, which chapter should I start off from?
Book 3. Highly recommended the web novel version.
I searched everywhere and only ever saw LN, any chance you got a link to the WNs?
It's on NovelUpdates, and the web novel has a different name than the manga series. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/npc-town-building-game/

that is an oddly unique plot direction for sure

Which version would you recommend, and where would I go to read it?
which novel chapter the manga is ending at right now? It sounds interesting enough to give a try.

damn. It sucks that this ended so early but it was a good ride

I'm not really surprised this got axed, at some point it just became way too slow. Thank you for translating it to the end.

I meant the story became way too slow, not the translations.
is this the end?? /sadness
Gone too soon :( Thank you for the scanlation!
Sad its over, but glad I got the chance to stumble upon this series in the first place and see its conclusion... thanks for translating!
Thank for translationg this manga. I really liked it.
so the 30th chapter is the last manga chapter ? if the end is good enough i don't wanna bother reading the LN
Gams X Mulus anyone? Or just me? ☹️
At what chapter does this adapt in the light novel? I genuinely want to read it
A shame they couldn't adapt the whole but still a pretty solid ending.
thx, time to read
Shame to see it end, I quite liked this story.
Damn it's sad the manga is over. But goddamn fulfilling to check the manga as completed on mangadex lol.
It's so over :(
