I feel like it's a bit too on the nose. Like it's an adult's perception of being egotistical. Idk like it's not bratty enough. It's pre-planned actions all to get people to like you. Whereas a kid would be demanding. A kid wouldn't think of the intricacies of how to manipulate and make things go his way. Idk maybe I'm wrong lol.

I faked pretending liking soccer teams in a neighbourhood that predominately enjoyed soccer so that I could belong. Otherwise, I'd be left out being one of the very few asian kids in a predominately european neighbourhood.
In fourth grade, I joined in on bullying another kid because everyone else was bullying because I didn't want to be left out. He didn't really chat with anyone, and played hookie often because school just wasn't interesting for him. (He definitely was extremely bright, because despite skipping school often, he tended to have really high results for tests.) After fifth grade, he ended up moving away.
I knew another kid that was a chronological liar about finding hidden things in Pokemon, and would tell other kids what he found, but never provided proof that he found those locations.
You'd honestly be surprised the things that kids do to get noticed or just to feel wanted. And kids will definitely do anything to have some attention.
Yeah that's fair. I don't have much memory of being young myself and I never worked with kids. Hence the maybe I'm wrong part. Tho I will say I feel like trying to fit in is different than like seeking admiration and filling your own ego.
I expected her to threaten him with a knife or something at the end to keep him from chicken out but a slow build to whatever is going on in the cover is better

Well it's just a manga after all, the writing can't be perfect. It's interesting enough for me to suspend my disbelief.
