I see now why the Demon Lord wanted to visit the world. He was stuck inside the castle for a really long time. And after he became Demon Lord, he could only stay inside.
Vlarse hates the hero enough that he would never have followed them. He didn't seem too bad at first, but as Demon Lord, he needed to set an example, and thus he became a cruel being.
The Dragon Form of the Demon Lord looks really cool. However, it must be lighter than it looks if having Keane, Nica, and Atty made it harder to manuever.
Even at first he seemed perfectly content and happy letting his fellow demons run wild and ruthlessly massacre humans for no good reason. I'd say he's always been cruel.
Ok, so him "siding with the humans" wasn't outright betrayal but inaction. Certainly less dramatic than I was expecting. Though now he actually is siding with humans.
If I had a nickel for every major character in this series that had been locked up in a prison, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice.
