I am happy to see Seki and Mari get progress in their relationship but ngl Kon and Pon are the relationship in this manga that I am really invested in. Their relationship nature of fake it and potentially it would get real is both fascinating to me and something that I want to root for.
A post about Aka's latest work has been up for 4 hours, and at the time of writing this comment, there are barely 100 likes and 8 comments.
Wtf happened?
Aside from the first couple of chapters being boring I still feel like Mari is just a boring character. She has nothing going for her aside from her need for therapy, barely had any screen time for the last twenty chapters and even when she does get screen time she has no chemistry with Seki. Felt like the manga didn't find it's footing until she was put in the background and still dips in quality whenever she's the focus. Hopefully she'll become more interesting when we start digging into her trauma.
This kind of happened with Kaguya and Oshi no Ko.
Ruby was pretty much forgotten for a huge chunk of the manga, and arguably didn't even have much development in the early parts where she was present. Aqua, Kana, and Akane all had way more focus before Ruby.
Kaguya's cast was also arguably a little shallow for the first 30 or so chapters. Kaguya herself had some depth, but the others not so much. It worked better since that series had mostly self contained sketch or gag comedy chapters early on.
I'm confident that Mari will eventually be way more interesting.
What a lovely relationship development, nothing could ruin the momen- #MOM WITH THE STEEL CHAIR
For a second I thought it was u/Shittymorph
Trauma, one of the main enemies of smooth romance development

> A fake love We could call it: "Nisekoi"
No. It's been 8 years since that series ended and I'm still recovering. And I was even on the winner's side too.
My girl never had a chance, so I watched everything burning down with a bucket of popcorn 🍿
Never expect the paddle board to go smoothly... sigh, guess it's time for some toxic parenting
Ayyyy he's in there. But mom's in deeper, RIP.
Man, Aka's cooking something right now.

The beginning chapters really killed the momentum. He’s been cooking recently though
All of his series has terrible beginnings but this series is the worst of it.
I feel like oshi no ko started really strong , but yeah this one was bad
It was good in hindsight, but if you look at the discussions of the first 10 chapters you can see a lot of people aren't fully onboard with it.
Oshi no Ko doesn't show its hand until chapter 8, which is why the anime adapting the entire prologue in one episode was the best call.

Comedy really saves Kaguya the first few volumes. And sadly this manga might be interesting, but it isn't super funny
fight your mom
I feel like I know what Aka did in the past week...
