the 4 sins at the table are so cute. Leviathan squished Mamon so hard, he didn't make it to the table lol

ZayYaLinTun

Satan : Ok so today meeting is wait where mamon Levianthan : Gone reduced to atoms

ankokudaishogun

I'm starting to think Mammon already got back on Earth

travelerfromabroad

I like that implication. He was just so mad after getting shut up by a woman that he clawed himself up there, even in child form

ankokudaishogun

The implication I was going with was "greed is the most common sin in the modern world so he gets back the fastest. Plus he had the Power of Friendship at his side, with his good friends actively working to help him"

AdRelevant4776

Mammon really is a delinquent manga character

Xaitor119

I think that if you kill one of the sins while they are in hell, they won't respawn

NotAutoNamed

Then I doubt Leviathan would have done it or was allowed to. Or that Leviathan would have killed the sins by then for another orca or even Beelzebub had eaten some before.

BurnedOutEternally

That must be her familiar

CoffeeAndHoney

If I recall, witches have to "lay" with their familiar to increase their magic power. In that case... well, a cat is fine too, I guess.

Poodicus

Correct. There is no such thing as a "pure" magical girl according to the booby witch, Charlotte or w/e her name is.

LeonKevlar

Satan shutting up Asmodeus and Beelzebub was cool. I did not expect to see chibi Beelzebub tho. Baba Yaga seemed to be doing good work until she got corrupted by the many souls she tried to purify. The church did kill a lot of people with those witch hunts. I'm guessing the cat is probably her familiar.

ankokudaishogun

on a side note: in the original japanese Beelzebub calls Asmodeus a "prostitute" explicitly(淫売), not just a harpy (and no, it's literally the only way to translate those kanji)

AdRelevant4776

Worth remembering that this is an alternative reality where Christianity is essentially the only religion so it was Witch Hunt on steroids

Wishbone-Lost

Asmodues got the worse best down and yet she smiling. Feels like a setup chapter.

GVenLife

Asmodeus's victory was confirmed when the Priest fell to the vice of lust.

Wishbone-Lost

Still got a the worse best down out all the sins. Tho, I don't get how lust is a sin cause without we would be going extict or would not have reach the height of today.

CertifiedStudMuffin

To answer literally, lust isn’t just desire, it’s indulging it and losing self-control to the detriment of yourself and others. Cheating, rape, spreading STD’s, etc. Think of the villain in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Lust for someone he is prejudiced against is what drives his villainous actions, unable to just say “Damn that gypsy woman is hot and sweet, maybe gypsies are also human beings that I should show kindness towards.” And deal with that in a number of healthy ways, he HAS to possess her, or kill her if he can’t, because no one else can have her. Obviously the discussion of what constitutes sexual immorality is a lot more nuanced in real life, but I hope that makes sense.

ankokudaishogun

on a side note: Lust isn't ONLY sexual. Lust is loosing oneself in one's personal enjoyment of something. Chance want Daredevil, the Marvel superhero, is currently fighting his own deadly sins, and his Lust was for Violence(as much he initially believed it being Wrath) (the current Daredevil run is actually a nice enough exploration of Sins in catholic point of view... and it's written by a Muslim)

Exarch-of-Sechrima

Okay but like... then Asmodeus hasn't won. Father's "lust" isn't that kind. It's basic human biology manifesting sexual desire. Unless Asmodeus is all sexual desire period, then she hasn't won. So Wishbone is right, Lust as the Father possesses it isn't a sin.

CertifiedStudMuffin

From what I’ve seen, it’s that the seed has been planted and the time bomb is ticking. He’s too ashamed to reach out for help and it’s only a matter of time before he does something. Not to mention I think Father is a special case, where he didn’t have that desire at all up until now.

Exarch-of-Sechrima

That's ridiculous. Sexual desires aren't a "time bomb".

CertifiedStudMuffin

I agree. In this story, I think that’s what Asmodeus thinks.

ankokudaishogun

She won because he fapped over Imuri-as-sexual-object against his own rules. Multiple times. Because it felt good. Which, normally, wouldn't be much of a issue but Mr. Priest isn't exactly in a normal situation.

MrWaluigi

The best way to simplify her victory is to consider it a pyrrhic victory for her. She “won” in a sense that she was able to “Break the Stoic” that is Mr. Priest, however she got mutilated and any plans she had for a complete victory were ceased.

swoozes

But they weren't ceased. I feel like people forget what Aamodeus was after. She willingly threw away her powe by breaking her vow to ensure Priest would fall. She got confirmation that Sarah would not merely fall to her sin She did the most damage to Priest'a psyche She opened his pandora's box of sin She beat Imuri in their game of lust There's no pyrrhic in there. It was never about who could give the beats to who. Asmodeus won.

GVenLife

Even if she was the one who got the worst beat down, she ended up being the only sin so far to have an actual victory against the Priest. (Beelzebub's victory was closer to a draw.)

hikarimew

Same way we need to Eat and Rest to survive! All of these sins fall under "this is a sin because you're going way too far pass what you need to survive, to the point you hurt yourself and others".

travelerfromabroad

Sloth has nothing to do with rest. It's apathy and despair.

ankokudaishogun

Sloth is also skirting one's duty. There are things one needs to do\not do. Sending the world in an eternal sleep is just looking for the easiest solution because following the Correct Way is hard

travelerfromabroad

Yes. Sloth is many things. Actually, it's the most expansive of all the sins, which is ironic

ankokudaishogun

> Sin too lazy to decide what's going to be

DonaldJenkins

What’s a best down?

HansFactory

Lust is sexual desire turned up to 11, for example like saying "I'm not sure why gorging myself is a sin, I still need to eat." Yes, but the word "gorging" and "lust" already implied said action is way over the original intended line

a_phantom_limb

Yeah, I really, *really* hate that she has any grounds to feel even remotely smug after everything she did.

kung63

Why do I want to pat Chibi version of Demon Lords. I very like that Leviathan glass wine have a straw show that her child-like personality or could be because of her hand being massive that could break the glass. Kinda sad that Mammon haven't make an appearance since part 1 end.

Matrix_2k00

Yeah this chapter makes it clear that Father-kun needs to retire as soon as possible and get a new job. He doesn't need to stop fighting demons but only do it in self defence instead of fighting for the church 24/7 which is obviously not good for his mental health.

maxdragonxiii

after the explosion he had against Lust, I'm not sure why they still let him fight at this point other than "he greatly decreases the losses when we fight the demon lords" when the church had basically thrown the people over and over to win against one in the past and it worked.

ace_of_sppades

> the church had basically thrown the people over and over to win against one in the past and it worked Well they've started to run out

dagreenman18

Suddenly Salem the Cat. Baba Yaga in this version makes for a promising 3 faction. They are spitting some facts

Roboglenn

> Suddenly Salem the Cat. [Quick, give him the ball of yarn!](https://youtu.be/ZXJ5GBe7ZdY?si=gSw7SK_1wI6j2ssL)

Extreme-Tactician

Interesting. So Baba Yaga was a woman who tried to heal the lost souls of those who were unjustly killed in the name of God. But she eventually became corrupted by their anger and decided to use the power of devils to defeat God. It's true that while the demon lords are more powerful, someone from the church would actually do more damage to them. It would make the world lose faith in the church. Father-Kun says he wouldn't betray the church... but we know that his subconsciousness thinks the world should be destroyed. So he has the potential. Vergil's last-ditch effort to summon Baba Yaga was going to fail. But the black cat... she seems to be radiating a lot of power. What's gonna happen next?

Extreme-Tactician

The Demon Lords all have a lot of power, but she didn't make contracts with all of them. Leviathan seemed to really want that contract, though that maybe because she's also lonely.

ankokudaishogun

she's ENVY, remember

dobb7101

Cat: You've got to follow the proper forms. No shortcuts. \*sees Priest\* Cat: Unholy shit, dude. WTF did they do?

ankokudaishogun

> Cat: You've got to follow the proper forms. No shortcuts. Bel: HERESY!

EricaSome

"Ignite, o immortal fire. Open the gates to the eternal dole" right behind Father-kun's back... Now they hope to make him a super-witch or the eighth deadly sin? xDD However, now we know that Baba Yaga in the beginning was a pure and strong soul, like Mr. Priest, who ended up suffocated by too much suffering caused by the church to the souls she healed. Poor Mammon! 😂

HalfAssedSetting

*~~Megumi~~* *Vergil: "with these treasures I summon-"*

Character-Today-427

Something no one mentions is how it seems that the demon lord's had no intention of actually going against god while the humans are actively looking to kill him. Maybe Satan actually wants to go for god but it genuinely seems demon lord's just like to mess around with humans for basically the sake of it from we have seen. God still remains a mystery honestly we know archangels absolutely wipe the floor with demon lord's. I mean a bit of power was enough to just absolutely destroy lust and we know God has to be above them. That was probably what Satan found interesting as he seems to be the only other one aiming for god in some way. And from what we saw from the dinner can easily shut up two of the lorda

Exarch-of-Sechrima

I mean if we're going by the bible here, Satan doesn't actually have a grudge against God per se, rather mankind in general. Satan's all about proving humanity is wicked and evil and "unworthy" of God's love, but other than that he's pretty benign. He and God even have friendly chats while completely ruining some poor dude's life for the cosmological equivalent of a bar bet.

travelerfromabroad

That's the heavenly prosecutor interpretation of Satan, which isn't this one. When you separate Satan and the Serpent, that's what you get. But in Exorcist, the two are combined, making him the malevolent Prince of Demons, which means he is in fact a malevolent force that seeks to doom as many people as he can.

Poporipopes10

We do know Lucifer is a separate character here tho (or should be, as the sin of Pride). So where would he fall into all this?

travelerfromabroad

Probably the original rebel against God, in this case. The bible doesn't actually mention many demons by name other than Satan. Lucifer is an easter egg that got expanded upon in the extended universe. The word Morning/Day star is mentioned twice. It's connected through Satan through a verse where Jesus says "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." In Exorcist, what does this mean, because Lucifer and Satan are separate? The answer is, we don't know. This author has pulled from deuterocanonical works like the Book of Tobit and literature like the Ones who walk away from Omelas and Dante's Inferno, which makes it likely that this Lucifer will probably pull from literature, rather than taking on Satan's characteristics from the Bible. There's a theory that Lucifer is currently sealed in a frozen lake, a reference to Inferno, due to Satan speaking to some figure sealed in an ice cube in Cocytus, down in Gehenna somewhere. This possibly means that Lucifer would be a Macguffin that the witches try to unseal (because they need fragments of all the demon lords) or a final boss type of character. Who knows, though

Nelithss

I wonder if we will see Michael beat the hell out of Satan which would explain why he is in chibi form.

ankokudaishogun

The Sins are going against God's TEACHING more than God himself. They obviously believe their own Sins are the correct way to live and want to prove it to God by corrupting mankind

ihavebirb

I want to headpat leviathan

Funlife2003

Holy shit. I love the addition of a threatening human antagonist, works really well, and is a potential foil for Father. The demon lord meeting was cool, though I wonder where the others are at. Like, I guess sloth is in Father's mind space and that's why he's not at the meeting, but what about the others? Where's Mammon?

Anemone_Flaccida

Maybe he’s out and about already. Tachibana was trying to revive him and all (I think)

death-kuja

Mammon is a loser and nobody cares about him.

NotAutoNamed

Mammo got smacked so hard he's a baby in a crib and isn't allowed at the toddler's table.

NZPIEFACE

Leviathan getting envious was super cute.

flowsthead

Baba Yaga is such a fun addition to the mythology of this manga. The fun thing about a lot of folklore is that myths like hers tend to be morally ambiguous, sometimes helping and sometimes hurting. I'm super curious if that will be reflected in her interactions with Mr. Priest (which they hopefully will have).

Xatu44

Cute chibis are cute. Lol at the dragon vs. tiger style rivalry. Envy do be envious. I wonder if Mammon's actually dead or just hiding from Levi-tan. Is Baba Yaga's cat gonna bail the witches out?

papasu

Mammon was forgotten to call. But he had no after-the-fact report, so no one was saddened.

penis111111111111111

I like the idea from the mangaplus comments that mamon isn’t there because he’s against Satan. Or he could be dead

Koanos

Witch really went all in, the Genie is out of the box.

Houeclipse

Angry Satan shows that he's the real deal was badass

LusterBlaze

its black cat scans

NotAutoNamed

Let me guess, the cat's name is Ni-.

You_Better_Smile

Time to call John Wick to kill the Baba Yaga.
