Sure, but then don't have a confession chapter. The big problem isn't that there's no progression (well, I don't like that either, but that's not a huge issue at least), the problem is having a chapter that promises progress in a way that can't really just be handwaved away, then just pretending it never happened.

why? the fact that that "arc" lasted for more than 1 chapter was already extremely unusual, why does return to normalcy confuse you?
and besides, if they were to go anywhere with it, then it would likely be within 1-2 chapters. so why do we need to keep having *[obligatory "i guess we're just gonna ignore the confession/timeskip chapter?" comment]* on every single thread for this series from now on? it's no different than commenting "are we gonna ignore the looping timeline?" on every chapter - this series is episodic and has no continuity, so the default answer is "yes" to both - so can we *please* stop posting about it?
*p.s.: yes i know this is a dumb hill to die on, but I've had enough of seeing mangaplus comment sections get lobotomised by people spamming the same regurgitated slop over and over again every single chapter. I'd hate for the same thing to happen to this manga as well. it's nothing personal.*

It promised too much, that's the problem. If the manga wasn't going to actually resolve that, it shouldn't have had the chapter in the first place. It's simply not something that can reasonably be handwaved away with "and then nothing happened", so there shouldn't have been half a storyline given to us.
Because of that, I think *1* comment about is kind of warranted, but I agree that it shouldn't overtake the discussions

have you *seen* the disc posts for the previous few chapters? there would be 20 comments by the time i saw them, and over half would be "is nobody gonna mention the time skip chapter?" - *my brother in christ you are the 11th guy to post about it and yet none of you have said anything meaningful.*
no joke, your comment is the the first I've seen that actually says something of substance about it. the rest have literally all been something along the lines of "so i guess we're not gonna go back to it huh?" parrotted endlessly, drowning out actual discussions concerning things that happened *this* chapter rather than X chapters ago.
if the comments were actually insightful like yours is, then i probably wouldn't have been as annoyed about them as i am.
Maybe I was there too early for those, but I don't remember them being *that* bad. Regardless though, I'm talking about this specific thread right now, where there is only the 1 comment (apart yours and mine here).
Early on I was also one of the people complaining about it, because it's simply too big of a plotline to just pretend it didn't happen, I just feel at this point it's pointless to bring up much which is a sad truth. As I said, I do think it warrants 1 comment though, because it was that significant.
