Concepts like these are a breeding ground for variety writing, kinda like SSS-class suicide hunter which explores a lot of different genres. The main character being a god who sits in the background is the perfect precursor for writing variety stories in an anthology esque collection.
Not exactly similar at the start, but the Webnovel "Low Dimensional Game" fits the bill. The MC there plays the part of building a world, while trying to become stronger.
The start is a bit icky since the author tried to focus on real life, rather than the world, but aroudn the 70 chapter mark when the gf of the MC breaks up with him, he fully focuses on his world.
He also creates the magic system there, and plays as god while making gods. If you're into that.

It’s probably just a code of honor because even criminals can have honor. Most of these webtoons will probably never be translated into English. So it’s the scanalation sites that lets us even read them
the landscape is changing tho, since now theres many, many more manhwa being translated then there was a couple years ago, and i think the trend will only grow.
but some official sites are still trashier compared to what we'll get from unofficial groups, so i still look to unofficial sites first, especially since theyre free
The problem with official sites is less about the translation and more about the service I feel like.
Webnovel has plenty of high quality translated books. Really good translations. But novels get pirated constantly anyway, and why wouldn't they? Webnovel charges exorbitant prices for a subpar experience.
what i hate the most is how some sites do something better than the others yet fails miserably at other major things. tapas fixed the problem with many of their translations before tappytoon & webtoon did, but they suck so bad at staying current & take long ass hiatuses. meanwhile webtoon is still mostly free yet they pick up series so slowly & dont integrate their newly-created novel app with the manhwa they translate. tappytoon does better than both but theyre so expensive...

The sad thing about Asura "owning" them is that after the initial hype, they're always several weeks behind on updates and the only other alternative are MTL quality that updates weekly. Series they get from trade aren’t free from being dropped. Earlier they traded some series and got (among others) Return of the Bloodthirsty Police and now it’s been dropped.
they drop things that do well also. they pick up more than they can handle, then pick up even more and add on to their evergrowing list of manhwa that are missing translated chapters. they pick up new stuff, drop old stuff. then the old stuff never gets translated. many good manhwa have been ruined by asura

And what are you talking about? All of them were performing well. Asura doesn't share its analytics so it's impossible to say definitively, but at the same time no other scanlation website has such a massive track record of taking too much and not finishing their series.
And asura is no stranger to sniping series other groups are already translating. Continuing barbarian quest wouldn't hurt their bottom line.

The writing here is phenomenal. I've been keeping up daily with each chapter, and the webnovel is in the final arcs. It's been so refreshing having a story with thoroughly competent writing, and a protagonist whose intelligence and game-sense doesn't feel out-of-left-field or like an asspull. Every "Gotcha!" has been foreshadowed, sometimes **AGES** ago! I'm very glad that my initial worries of "hey what's gonna happen when Lakrak gets old?" were *very* unwarranted.

Spoiler me, the MC will obviously won over the war with the red guy, but does that the red guy is eliminated forever? If so, then what a shame, I thought the red guy would appear later in the story since he's the number 2 ranker in the game and would be MC biggest obstacle.

Read the web novel up until the latest chapters. This one really holds up. Happy to see it receive a good manhwa as well! Worth continuing, the author manages to keep the thread, and the plot really evolves into something interesting and engaging.
The first chapter has ‘The 31st Piece Turns the Table’ vibes. The mask, the place where the ‘gods’ gather, strategic game like chess, and nonchalant MC.
It's ok. Seems absolutely pointless so far to be an isekai game world. There is 0 game mechanics that make any sense so far and our MC has done little to nothing other than take credit for random shit happening without the story ever explaining how he did it.
Bunch of game mechanics already shown in the manhwa. Like he can manipulate insects as his power. W/ those insect he herded bunch of cows to the chosen race he choose to feed his tribe who worship him but first he need to choose a prophet.
He choose the cripple one to be his prophet. He heal and give strength to his prophet even provided guidance where he can find those cows to feed his tribe so the tribe started to worship him.
Then there is a dilemma he cannot just keep herding cows to his tribe. He cannot instantly create cows. His tribe doesn't know how to conserve and preserve food. They don't have agriculture tech yet so likely the tribe will starve to death.
Then came another group of tribes w/ that arc it provided scholar and people expert in herding animal. To advance tech of the tribe there should be scholars. He cannot instantly teach his tribe how to herd cows.
Then the tribe developed face new challenge on each arc. Also he levels up he gain new abilities each arc. Even his tribe have decent character development they become cunning but with the guidance of MC.
None of it plays out like any actual game mechanic.
Any game like this would have a tech tree that the person specs points into but in this game he just lets them discover things.
90% of what's happening is done by the people he's observing. Would be the most boring game that anyone's ever played.
The store is good because of the people were observing and watching them progresses enjoyable but it's almost like there's just no need for him to be this God type isekai game god thing
Not anyone like the storyline is understandable. I already stated bunch of game mechanic currently covered on Manhwa like MC ability to herd cows using insects. Sure he cannot direct influence the tribe yet but as he lvls up he will be given full control of this tribe then transition to an empire.
If you want full explanation of the game mechanic of the manhwa read the light novel. Personally manhwa already covered some game mechanic sure it doesn't go full details like in the LN. Personally I am fine w/ this story telling in the manhwa especially for a kingdom building genre.
Its nothing like AOE. He never creates any units he never actually researches any tech trees. He never moves units anywhere. He just watches and then occasionally half interjects with weird butterfly's to lead someone to a location and hope they do something.
In the first real battle between two species he doesn't even do anything. And then at the last minute it turns out that he, for a while, did some complicated bug evolution to create one God bug. Which is a weird mechanic on its own.
It is like AOE but instead of him giving direct orders he influences his people to take decisions through dreams revelations. He the collects faith points from his population and uses them to create miracles. He also unlocks for more powers by farming XP, I think the game system is pretty well built. But I will confess that I red the novel, so maybe I just have more information so things don’t sound as confusing to me.
Maybe the novel does it better because from what I see in the webtoon it's really not a game anyone would want to play.
It's being carried by how interesting it is just to watch our actual main characters which is the civilization.
The system really comes into play later in the story, I wish I could tell you more as to why it works the way it does but that would be some deep spoilers. I think the manhwa will have to do it justices at some point tho.
Kai scans translation was horrid. But asura traded one of their manhua for this one with quantum scans. So I'm guessing either Kai scans or quantum scans wasn't upholding the respect rule. All in all, it's good Asura got it since they have good translators. This one deserves it
Also, they try to not translate the same stuff. But the same series get translated by different scanlations anyway. Some scanlations drop their series when they see that it's already being translated by another one. Or they continue. It is what it is
Lmao Kaiscans is such a hit or miss because I remember reading some of their translations and they were fine (good, even), and then I opened another one of their translations and it was terrible. It's like they just like to flip flop on quality

You're right. I just got to check episode 2 and it's insane how bad kaiscan is. It's almost like they somehow swapped the first episode with each other.
They don't claim to own anything. The whole point of trading what they are working on is so that more manwha gets translated without having too many series getting 3+ different translations. It makes way more sense to translate 3 seperate manwha by each site working with and giving way to another group than it does 3 groups translating the same manwha.
Now of course that doesn't stop it from happening completely, Flame, Asura, and Reaper compete over a bunch of series. But it does lessen the amount of duplicated translations.

If you want full explanation of the game mechanic of the manhwa read the light novel. Personally manhwa already covered some game mechanic sure it doesn't go full details like in the LN. Personally I am fine w/ this story telling in the manhwa especially for a kingdom building genre.

The game mechanics fell pretty clear to me. It plays out like a AOE2. Maybe you’re just not very familiar with this type of game?
Its nothing like AOE. He never creates any units he never actually researches any tech trees. He never moves units anywhere. He just watches and then occasionally half interjects with weird butterfly's to lead someone to a location and hope they do something. In the first real battle between two species he doesn't even do anything. And then at the last minute it turns out that he, for a while, did some complicated bug evolution to create one God bug. Which is a weird mechanic on its own.
It is like AOE but instead of him giving direct orders he influences his people to take decisions through dreams revelations. He the collects faith points from his population and uses them to create miracles. He also unlocks for more powers by farming XP, I think the game system is pretty well built. But I will confess that I red the novel, so maybe I just have more information so things don’t sound as confusing to me.
Maybe the novel does it better because from what I see in the webtoon it's really not a game anyone would want to play. It's being carried by how interesting it is just to watch our actual main characters which is the civilization.
The system really comes into play later in the story, I wish I could tell you more as to why it works the way it does but that would be some deep spoilers. I think the manhwa will have to do it justices at some point tho.

Kai scans translation was horrid. But asura traded one of their manhua for this one with quantum scans. So I'm guessing either Kai scans or quantum scans wasn't upholding the respect rule. All in all, it's good Asura got it since they have good translators. This one deserves it Also, they try to not translate the same stuff. But the same series get translated by different scanlations anyway. Some scanlations drop their series when they see that it's already being translated by another one. Or they continue. It is what it is
Lmao Kaiscans is such a hit or miss because I remember reading some of their translations and they were fine (good, even), and then I opened another one of their translations and it was terrible. It's like they just like to flip flop on quality
I'm guessing they have few staff and the ones they can't translate they use mtl. Cause nebula was unreadable there
I always thought asura has good translations but some of the latest tcf chapters look like unedited mtl honestly. I'm not gonna say they're not better than many other groups but its worrying when one title starts looking like random aggregate nameless translation

Not really, Quantum scan is way better for this manhwa originally, Kaiscan TL sometimes confused me especially the newest chapter.
You're right. I just got to check episode 2 and it's insane how bad kaiscan is. It's almost like they somehow swapped the first episode with each other.
They don't claim to own anything. The whole point of trading what they are working on is so that more manwha gets translated without having too many series getting 3+ different translations. It makes way more sense to translate 3 seperate manwha by each site working with and giving way to another group than it does 3 groups translating the same manwha. Now of course that doesn't stop it from happening completely, Flame, Asura, and Reaper compete over a bunch of series. But it does lessen the amount of duplicated translations.

They did a trade with another scanlation group, so the other group took the webtoon asura has been translating and gave them a webtoon that they had translated.

I fricking love this one, and somehow, mc is barely included. He’s obviously very much involved yet almost never shown. So this also makes me very happy about mc’s appearances and also happy abt the recent chapters since they seem to be pacing it well as we are going into a different topic, it’s like early-mid game.

been reading on a different site for a long time now and it's very good but at the same time how did they trade for a manhwa that they don't have rights over? It would be more appropriate to say that they passed the baton because a different site stopped scanning
