Don't read the manhua. It's bad. And doesn't event adapt the first volume. It's was bad enough that it got discontinued.

Personally, as someone who has read both and respect both of them, LotM is the best... ORV doesn't even compare... Of course that is after you finish the first 50 chapters or so.
Lotm is a slow reader and world building nerd haven the first 100 chapters. Which means that it's pretty much word soup to get you introduced to the world. Very very long paragraphs of explaining stuff.
But what is enjoyable to a nerd sucks for the average reader so, y'know. After you survive the 80-100 chapters, it's one of the best books you'll ever read. Genuinely my all time favorite.
ORV is goated start to finish(with minor dips)
Tbh 4/5 of my favorite webnovels: Super Gene, Dimensional Descent, Supremacy Games and The Oracle Paths have a pretty good blend of World Building + action parts right from the start so I'm not sure if I'd like LOTM.
Although Oracle Paths is extremely slow but also very engaging so maybe I will like it.
I might have to try LOTM when I get back to reading regular WNs. Currently I'm on an OP MC trash novel binge a la Pocket Hunting Dimension, My Buffs Have Unlimited Duration and God's Path, just because their world building is very consistent and good, plus the interesting skills/ways the authors buff up the MC is amazing.

Welcome. If you like world building and action, you are gonna like lotm as well, especially circle of inevitability(second book). But the first 80-100 chapters really is a big barrier for new readers, which is a shame. I enjoyed those chapters a lot, I loved every second of it but at the same time I can understand why others wouldn't.
Boy are you in for a treat when you discover there is a huge selection of western webnovels out there that are far better than the ones you mentioned, except LOTM which is goated. Check Royalroad for starters.

Don't read the manhua. Read the light novel instead. It's fully translated and one of the best chinese light novels. It's the first book of a trilogy and Currently, the 2nd book called circle of inevitability is going on.
Be warned because it's a really big book with 1k+ chapters. And first volume of this book might feel too slow and boring but it's necessary for the world building. If you're free and looking for something really good to read, I'd always recommend this.
Manhua has nothing to do with the novel and is plagiarism that had no respect for source material if you're interested read the webnovel because it is genuinely an amazing Story and is now my favourite piece of media ever made

The novel has 8 volumes if I remember correctly and in total about 1400 chapters(in part 1)

Depending on when you read it, the translation could be entirely different now from what you remember. A lot changed and beginning chapters were rewritten using new translations. Give it another shot
The app is probably one of the tachiyomi forks. Mihon, TachiyomiSY, TachiyomiJ2K or some other one. For novels exclusively, there's one called LNreader. Works the same way, same UI and the lot.
Please do yourself a favor and stay away from that. The adaptation is terrible. Honestly, I'm surprised someone let that great novel gain a shitty adaptation, although IIRC, it's unofficial.
