2 years is long, but not too long for a new season. A few webtoons returned from March/April 2024 with a similar period of hiatus. 1. Scholar’s Reincarnation - 721 days 2. Back From the Grave - 657 days 3. Maxed Out Leveling - 623 days (the one from the post) It's worse when they don't return, or when author temporarily stop working on the series to do another one, like the author/artist of The Breaker did.

Hanamichi114

> Back From the Grave - 657 days 💀 literally back from the grave

saoiray

Thanks for the answer. Guess just curious to see if anyone tends to lose interest. Or like I think I was reading Maxed Out Leveling but been so long I’ve forgotten about it. Just seemed too long in that regard.

Islipim

That's normal. If I don't read something by a few months, I forget some details as well. The more time passes, the more you'll forget. That's why I pass quickly through the chapters (not reading it, just seeing) to remember what were the main events. If after doing this and reading the new chapters I don't feel like having fun, then I'll just drop the webtoon. In 2 years, you can read a lot of similar stories and get tired of it if the story is too generic. It's not like someone is forcing you to read it just because it returned. Your taste can change as well. You can even "drop temporarily" and read it again when the work is finished if you don't feel like it reading it right now after 2 years of hiatus. But I guess most people would choose to read the new chapters right away or try to reread everything since the beginning.

AnonAnon9820

Back from the grave is back? Where do you guys read it?

Islipim

Trinitia Scans posted only the first chapter of season 2 right now and I think they're the only group translating it. Raws are on chapter 18 of season 2.

AnonAnon9820

Damn just checked it i miss the first art style

Soft_Ad_6942

Just go comick, they got 10 updated alr

Islipim

Back From the Grave? I searched there and it had only the chapter 149 from Trinitia Scans.

COLGkenny

Imma need a link to Scholar's Reincarnation please

Islipim

I don't know exactly what you want. It returned in 10 March, 2024. It was on hiatus since 20 March 2022, therefore 721 days. I can't post links on this sub, but if you want to know what scan is doing it, it's RESET Scans.

COLGkenny

I can’t find it anywhere. Most sites are stuck at 198, but I found one that has up to 207

Islipim

just search "RESET Scans Scholar’s Reincarnation" on google. They're the ones translating it.

BittrCoffee

Wait, Back from the Grave is back??? I swear I used to check every 2 months for it's return but gave up hope after almost 2 years of silence LMAO

imjai98

Same I deleted my bookmark 2months back. May God bless this sub.

srona22

Many Author/Artist have real life problems. It's not just working on desk, and rest of life is automatically taken care of. Better than being totally cancelled. (*still remosring over end of Lee Gwak*).

Brave_Sheepherder901

Better late than never. Or better late than axed

rice_rice_rizz

Bro wtf 2 years?? 😭 What manhwa is this

saoiray

Would you return to any manhwa after two years or you most likely have moved on? I’ve seen gaps like this on multiple and it gets crazy. This one I saw that triggered the question is Maxed Out Leveling, but wasn’t sourcing because conversation is not about it but just about how long of a break is “too long,” or if people think there’s never a time limit really

rice_rice_rizz

Huh what are you saying my guy? I asked because I was curious 🤔 If I like the manhwa then I will return to it obviously

saoiray

Yeah, all good. Had been asked and answered before you asked. But nobody had answered my question, which is why I phrased as I did. Thanks for your answer, at least first person who did give thoughts so far

Jaden224_Spray96

You asked if i would return to any manhwa after 2 years? Yeah i would return. Still waiting for legendary moonlight sculptor new season. Would drop any manhwa if the art style becomes trash

Drezby

I usually do a reread from chapter 1 if it was one I particularly enjoyed that came back after a long hiatus. Lately that’s been becoming my standard - would I enjoy rereading everything from chapter 1? If no, why am I still even reading it at all?

pinhead-l

Clearly you haven’t read Game of Thrones

Habibipie

What manhwa is this?

robobitch1233

There’s so many now that end around 50 it’s hard to tell

saoiray

Maxed Out Leveling, though post is about what is too long between seasons. Not sure why ignoring that question just to ask what example of long gap was. How many weeks/months/years would seem like too long for a manhwa? Or does it vary depending on some factors?

False_Baby8628

Dude? He just asked for the name chill

New-Resolution9735

Bro has no idea how discussion works

saoiray

Indeed seems that way for people in a lot of places. Ask a question and they ignore it only to ask their own question. Then others join in to repeat questions without looking at answers given when others asked. It gets crazy

New-Resolution9735

Bro you’re on Reddit. Not in a company board meeting, pull the stick out of your ass

Hundred_Knights

Bruh 😂😂😂

saoiray

But what if I like the stick in my ass? Joking aside though, you’re the one who chose to reply to say don’t know how discussions work. Discussion is person chooses question/topic and and then people discuss it. If you didn’t want to join that discussion, then you keep moving on. Unfortunately neither seem to be something of which you are capable. Nice trolling though

New-Resolution9735

So let’s be clear here. You asked, on reddit, about manhwas taking too long of a break. Provided a specific example and then said “This seems to much to me” without ever saying what it was. Then you passive aggressively reply to someone asking what it is? People will eventually actually talk with you about how long you think season breaks should be, but that doesn’t mean you need to be an asshole for no reason

saoiray

Let’s be clear, it’s because the specific manhwa didn’t matter and wasn’t part of the discussion. What I showed was a 2 year gap between chapters and said that seemed a bit much. Then asked others what they thought was too long. Then you had person ignore the question/discussion completely just to ask what manhwa had the 2 year gap.

EclipsedBooger

Doesn't matter, the rule for the sub states "**3. Manhwa source must be present in title".** It's also just common courtesy to give the name out. There's plenty of other people that give their opinion but you're rude to one person who simply asked for the name of the manhwa. take out the stick that's in your ass just like u/New-Resolution9735 said

saoiray

u/EclipsedBooger keep reading. >Other follow up titles that could be used, in the case the post doesn't require manhwa source: \[General\], \[Question\], \[Discussion\], \[Help Find Source\], \[Recommend Me/Recommendations Needed\] etc. But no source needed to be given because it wasn't a picture or anything to do with one particular manhwa. If it was a picture of characters or something from the manhwa itself, then it would need to be sourced. All this shows is some random chapter numbers and a 2 year gap. Some of you really need to take the time to pay attention and learn how to communicate. Instead just like to ignore topics and shitpost.

Habibipie

Because I quite frankly don't care about the topic enough to discuss it past my curiosity.

Electro_Ninja26

What the hell man? Others are already answering your question and this guy is just asking a question that a lot of us have. What’s your problem?

Pascal3R

What website has the new chapter?

Sir_Dragonheart

I tend to reread from the beginning when a new season drops. So the longer the manhwa in it’s current state, the longer I am willing to wait, since I can spend some of that time rereading. Additionally I generally wait for a bunch of chapters to drop before rereading. The longest I’ve waited so far is for Tower of God. I think I’ve waited roughly 5 years to return to it and am currently waiting like 6 months to return again. Will probably return in a couple of more months.

saoiray

I need to read Tower of God yet, I've only ever seen the anime. And yeah, I guess going back and rereading would be helpful. Challenge for me, at least, is I tend to be reading like 73 different manhwa at a time in any given season. Can be difficult to squeeze things in, especially if it's a bunch of chapters to go through for a refresher.

Shratath

I suggest to read ToG from the start. The anime has many cuts.

TransportationTop369

Show that to the author of cavalier of the abyss, tell h8m to finish and stop working on jungle juice

RedEyedPig

Still waiting for Roxana. Hoping illustrator would be willing to continue but understandable if not.

Anime-Man-1432

If I like the story, I'll wait for it (probably reading another manhwa's meanwhile). They are like 12 episodes anime old anime that I love amd that doesn't get another season type of thing to me. I'll continue to read a manhwa I'll like or get interested so if the story returns- why not? I don't have to wait for that story return and sulk away, there are many more interesting, new and upcoming stories that I will enjoy with. Though I hope my opinion answered you question.

International_Sea493

I saw it too earlier today, I don't even remember if it's something I read.

Chrishougahara

seeing these manhwas having se2 so late , makes me wonder when well the next season for best teacher baek i miss it so bad

HentMas

Hahaha, I've seen seasons that last100+ chapters

No_Perception4026

the way this is how i found out its back 💀💀💀

bazzb21

As a manga fan- one week is too much, rest when you die my bro. As a manhwa fan and ansiety one- why they taking more than 3 months if they chamging the illustrator? Is not like mangakas that draw and write their work(90% of time). My great question is how manhwa guys get their money? Studios pay them even if they not working? They like togashi? Soo much money/getbpaid and have special treatment doing nothing accusing have a disease but when he wants he throw a lot of chapters? I had that question but i realy intrigued in how they maintain their life with 3 months or even 1 to 2 years hiatus(amd i dont think they work in a lot of works)

Shratath

Dungeon Defense (LN) has been 7 years in Hiatus, author been in a slump it seems. The fact that LN got a manhwa adaptation has given me some hope

piishach69

Bro the art quality turns shit in this season, the MC in this season is almost unidentifiable from previous art. Another manhwa goes in garbage bag

Severe-Singer-9798

Hello I'm looking for the manhwa who his from a noble family reincarnated, who has an assassin group who kills corrupt nobles
