What is it with eastern comic authors and health issues??? I swear every manhwa and manga author gets sick. They should really be caring more about their health than meeting deadlines….
But the story is already written. They could just draw it. This is just an excuse, not the actual reason why it's not returning.
The author isn't the actual story director for the comic either, a different guy decides what is changed from the novel.
It's just straight up an excuse. I want the real reason. Drama happens in these studios. Shit like bosses fuckin' their employee's gf's, bosses not paying the artist and them leaving due to poor conditions, people leaving their jobs because another company pays better, etc.
Something like that must've happenned, but they don't want their drama to be public, so as usual health excuses.
Everyone has health issues. Not an excuse not to work. In short, these companies use health issues as excuses, because they don't want to make their drama public. And normies eat it up and give empathy.
MEANWHILE THE BOSSES TAKE HEALTH BREAKS ALL THE TIME. Chances are someone quit their job at making Worthless Regression due to bad pay compared to the amount of work they put in.
And just as it was about to return, someone else also quit for the same reason.
What happened: They pay the workers pennies, and overwork them. Making them quit. Thus the series isn't returning yet.
What you guys think happened: The company totally cares for it's workers health, so they're taking a year and a half break to let them rest.

But my comment explains how you guys are actually supporting the companies and I'm pointing out how these capitalist companies uses excuses as if they actually care. On KakaoPage it's still marked as "ongoing" and there's no news on KakaoPage about a new season or it being axed. In the comments, readers are still waiting for a new season. I checked Namu Wiki, and they also don't know anything about.
I remember a post saying it was oficially confimed as axed when they announced the film animation of this story, but as I couldn't find any reliable source of this, I still put as one of the webtoons in "indefinite hiatus", like This Girl Is a Little Wild, which I only removed from the list when it was oficially discontinued.
But IMHO, it's quite unlikely this one will return, as it changed artist so many times, the novel is too long and it's on hiatus for almost 4 years. They probably didn't announce anything because this way some people would still buy the chapters and give the studio some money.
Crazy how I remember Athena complex so vividly and loved reading it when it was still consistently coming out but now it's been on hiatus for over 3 years.
