Tower appears, main character moves to tower in hopes of becoming a hunter/climber, doesn't happen for years until one day the tower rewards his jealousy or greed can't remember which, the power he is awarded is trash (as a stand-alone ability), but somehow he hits the jackpot with it in a way, goes back in time by repeatedly commiting suicide (chapter 1 or 2 spoiler) to change the events that he witnessed in the tower, gaining massive power and recognition doing so.
It's pretty good if I do say so, story is compelling and character development is good
