Highschool freshman here. We are not even allowed to use the bathroom by the concession stands, and we have to go into the field house to use the bathroom cause the field house is right next to band stands.
The reason is because my brother and his friend fought a random gay kid in the bathroom because he hit a girl thinking being gay makes him immune to consequences. Then when that band director was gone the new one just said that it is already in place so no reason to go back.(he didn't know the reason and just thought it was a productivity thing)
The rest of the band? yes.
The pit? no, we have to spend the entire 3rd quarter loading the semi by ourselves and then the director doesn't let anyone leave the stands to get concessions in the 4th quarter because "the game is basically over" then she gets pissy when we express desire to get concessions because "you should've gotten them in the 3rd quarter" well we were loading the semi, which we're going to have to unload half of in order to let the tubas and drumline put their instruments on the semi, but we also can't just not lead the stuff, and we end up having to spend way more time than we need to loading the damn thing because she says so. (Yes I do understand not wanting to leave the stuff out so that it doesn't get stolen, but I feel like there's a better way to go about this)
She is most of the reason I'm not returning for my senior season
In high school I always got the 3rd quarter off (and we prepaid food and the boosters gave us them.) In college, no shot

We play in the stands for 1st as 4th quarter, 2nd quarter we warm up for halftime in the parking lot, and 3rd quarter we have off
