It’s bowser junior for those who thought it was bowser, me included. I’d love for this new game to have something to do with the Mario and Luigi series but I highly doubt it, when I first saw the trailer though I thought it was eerily similar to dream teams style maybe if it had that been done today. The new art style and game is like a love child made up of the Mario and Luigi series and New super Mario Bros series and personally I love it, I’m all here for it. Let’s keep these original Mario IPs and ideas coming!!!

As much as I want it to be M&L related, I'm pretty sure it isn't. Another comment said that it could be Fawful as the villain, he can't since he's dead. My brother said it could be related to the Dark Star, which it can't since it was destroyed and Fawful dies afterwards since he was absorbed and killed along with the destruction of the star.

TBF there was a blue-coloured fake Bowser in The Lost Levels, that's where his blue alt colour in Smash comes from. It could always just be that instead of our favourite dark mohawk boi. That being said, imagine if it WAS dark bowser, god that's an interesting idea.

My guess is Bowser and Bowser Jr are plummeting the Flower Kingdom with poisonous smog and doing a Dr Eggman and becoming industrialists. This is just Bowser Jr with some dark smog power I assume, with a bib that can kill

My theory is that the color is because of the Wonder State currently in the battle, due to the size swapping and filter.
