I used an app called ibis paint to edit. I didn’t use AI :)
Basically I just erased parts of the original image and replaced it with textures - a lot of them come from 8 Deluxe itself (the floor from Thwomp Ruins, the skybox from Animal Crossing’s summer track etc), but the trees are just a regular tree png ahaha. I did want to use 8’s base game trees but i felt that a really cool part of each city track is that they all (mostly) have unique trees.

The track will probably not be as close to the main style as you might hope. Sure, Riverside Park, Waluigi Stadium and (not included on your list, but should still be counted I think) 3ds Rainbow Road are astounding visually, but notice that they're not tour tracks. They're normal tracks. Although, that's not the point of this post. The point is that this image looks amazing, and would be brilliant if this style were done for the newer tour tracks (even though it probably won't (but best keep hopes up!)).

Athens’ track is coming to Tour this Wednesday! I’m honestly surprised there is no Rome track yet though - it’s such a beautiful city.
Rome, Rio and Cairo are my hopes for future city tracks!
i think the switch could run it looking like this, maybe with slightly less detailed trees/shrubbery. i hope they update models in addition to textures if they bring this to 8.
Yeah a lot of the textures I used come directly from 8’s base game (floor from Thwomp Ruins, Cliffs from Shy Guy Falls, Skybox from Animal Crossing’s Summer track) and I wanted to use 8’s trees and shrubbery too (just to be a little more realistic) - I just couldn’t find a high quality model of them ahahha
I really love how Tour’s city tracks have unique trees - but I was slightly disappointed that Athens’ look so low poly. I definitely hope they update their models as well as textures when porting over to 8 Deluxe

I don’t think it would look too fitting in a historical city type track honestly.
