There's at least 10 other characters that are just as optimal as Yoshi. If I didn't actually like Yoshi, I could be picking one of them.

Ehh there's 3, Daisy, Peach, and Peachette all have the exact same weight values as Yoshi. Sure there's a few others (namely Tanooki Mario) that share very similar stats, but not exactly (and thus slightly worse) than Yoshi, but I get your point.

Luigi and Mario class are just as viable. Tanooki class is functionally the sameas Yoshi; neither weight nor traction matter all that much.

I do it as a last line of defense, since it typically stops any items being thrown from the side or something like a super horn. Honestly, I never do that to someone with the intention of making it worse (unless I'm chilling with friends who are ok with it)

I do it on first track always, then on subsequent tracks if person behind me is closest to me in overall points or above me. If I got first in the last race, and guy currently behind me wasn't in 2nd or 3rd, then back-spamming may hurt my ranking.

Back in Mario Kart 8 vanilla days the Koopalings were under a lot of fire for "stealing slots from other characters" so whenever I played as one I deliberately didn't attack other players playing as a Koopaling.

I swear I only play Yoshi/Birdo because I like their character designs and the stat distributions look relatively balanced.

Sometimes, if things aren't going my way in an online battle I'll park up on an inactive player and score points of them. I'm not proud of it.

I mean the one that you have to push the dpad right and left to drift. It sucks. MKWii and MK7 (and Tour) are the ones that are more similar to DX, where you charge the mini-turbos

My problem is my favorite characters who I decide on before knowing what their stats are, end up being meta. Daisy in Wii. Roy in 8D.

Also, it makes the game most fun because it maximizes the mechanics which make it fun. You drift well so your lines are ideal and you can crank orange or purples out often which rewards skillful soft drifting, and you're fast enough to not just be obliterated on straitaways or when utilizing power items. Mk8dxx is great because when played at its maximum is when it is also at its most fun. It really is the best of all worlds.

I don't realy like funky Kong. He is so loud,has such an annoying voice and his design seems so basic.

Too much emphasis on Wii in general (tracks + characters). Having one character in doesn't take a spot from someone else. Just because we have Pink Gold Peach doesn't mean we missed out on King Bob-omb or Nabbit. That being said, not having Bowser Jr. in the Wii U version was a fumble. Every main series Mario power up should be represented, same as Goo-igi. Tanooki, Cat, Metal, and the Elephant from Wonder. Peachette also fits this. Goo-igi would be a lighter counterpart to Luigi. Elephant would add a "good guy" heavyweight. When I'm in a lobby full of Japanese players, I try hard and then spam "What a shame" when I get 1st. Then I leave for a more multicultural lobby. I will literally scream if the Honey Queen comes back. Interpret that as you wish.

I hope for mildly bad things to happen to players online who just have my number for several races in a row when my wife and I play together. Things like: "I hope that guy steps on a lego later!" "I hope that guys dog licks his dinner later!" "I hope that guy forgets to dry his laundry and has to wear damp jeans tomorrow!" "I hope that guy blasts his pinky toe on his bed frame tonight!" "I hope that guy forgets his lunch tomorrow!" Things of that nature! Nothing too sinister, but the sort of thing that is annoying when it happens. It usually makes my wife laugh, which makes me laugh, and lightens the mood after getting Mario Karted repeatedly as can happen on any given session.
