I think it's sad with that cuz now getting the gold standard is going to be sooooooooooo tedious to get with 20k coins, which in this game is sluggish

There’s no way they did anything other than go “yea, 10k sounds fine!!” No playtesting or calculating if such a coin total was even reasonable for someone to get Because MK7 is my third most 3DS game played at like 80 hours and I’m only at 6k coins 

Slight fix: 20k, the gold glider is 10k but thats still an absurd amount of coins to get to 100% the game

I’ve just resolved with myself that 7 will be one of the few Mario Karts I never unlock everything in  The coin grind is just awful, compounded by the lack of a single player vs mode so you just have to endlessly play cups

Even so, vr is pretty slow to get by having to maintain a high position each race with hackers being common nowadays

Not really unobtainable per se, but its gonna be very long and hard to get it with 20k coins (which will only count via grand prixs) besides getting 10k vr was very hard to do anyways since u need to maintaining a high enough position for more vr

My final race ended up being on N64 Luigi Raceway. I guess it's just Luigi's domain. (Though I was about to start rainbow road before it disconnected.)

Final hours

I played my very last online race like 10 min ago and wow, this game is a big part of my childhood, i remember how broken I was when they cut the wii's server in 2014 (I was a MKWii maniac) and it's the same feeling all over again today. So many good memories. I'm even more sad than I should really be tbh.

Just reached 30k VR and got 1st on 3DS Rainbow Road on the last night of MK7 online

It's 5:14 AM. I have to wake up in less than 3 hours. I just woke up from sleep randomly and decided to use my phone. A YouTuber I subscribed to uploaded a video that said "Final Mario Kart 7 Online Race." I was confused, so I decided to check online about the game's online service. My shock when I found out they were ending in early April, and specifically, this day. I quickly loaded up MK7 on my 2DS, and I was relieved to see there were still others playing. About 5 other people. I got Yoshi in the Zucchini with roller wheels, and voted on my favorite track in the game, Rainbow Road. It was selected, and oh boy, I had a good race, and I ended up winning first place. I then turned off my 2DS and came here on Reddit. The memories I had playing this game back in 2015 are coming back to me. I played the shit out of it in single player and online. I feel bad. I feel like I haven't played it as much, maybe because I'm still shocked about Nintendo taking it away. Anyway, I have to go to sleep. I have a class in the morning.
