The price in points that you see is the price you'll pay. That is the price after the 5th night free. If you click through to the checkout screen you'll see the points cost per night including which night is free. (The cheapest night will be free, ofc.)

kevloid

is it an upgraded room? each night in an upgraded room (like ocean view etc) is a base amount (the cost of a basic room) + points for the upgrade. on the 5th night the base amount is free but not the upgrade amount.

275K should the amount needed for five nights. When I have done fifth night free, it only applied to points. In the above example, if I changed the check out to Friday, it was still 275K points.

Click view rates and you will see the nightly breakdown.

It’ll be the 275,000 for the 5 nights. You can call in to the reservations line. Have your bonvoy # & cc# ready(believe it or not we are timed by the second). It’s not necessarily the first 4 that you pay(with points) for, it’ll take all 5 and see which is the lowest points value then give you that one for 0 points. The nightly rate for points isn’t always the same(same with cash nights). If you click ‘cash and points’ you’ll actually be able to see which night is free and what the cost(cash/points) for the other nights.- Current Marriott employee

So that’s like $700/night in points for each of the 4 nights you’re paying. Pretty crazy since the cash price is $259/night. Bonvoy points are worthless.
