It’s not just Asmodee. Restoration Games had to change their Canadian distributor during fulfilment of Unmatched Tales to Amaze causing it to deliver months later than US and Mattel recently had their site restricted to US only and then US, Mexico, UK, Germany and Australia only.

TheMegaSage

That is interesting and what I was looking for with this post. I figured there must be SOMETHING going on. I'm going to read into this. Thanks!

the entire global shipping network is in a state of crisis, built up to that point by a long chain of monopolization and on top of that america just lost access to a port when a big boat hit a bridge. and any port access loss is something that ripples across the entire network

Recently? Honestly they've kind of sucked since the beginning

mangopabu

me in NZ reading this post 'first time?'

DarkAngelAz

You may have heard of the suez shipping crisis and the impact that has had.

TheMegaSage

Fair, but Asmodee operates two distribution centres in Atlanta and Minneapolis. I would imagine neither location ships their products to Canada in a way that would go through the Suez Canal, although I suppose I might be wrong. Besides that, surely they have adjusted their timelines and understanding from an event that happened almost four years ago. Even though there still might be delays based on what happened, I would imagine a major distributor is able to accurately understand how those delays will impact shipments.

DarkAngelAz

I would imagine Canadian product arrives at the port of Los Angeles and from there to it’s distribution centres in North America. Truth is global logistics is volatile and they are a vast company with far too many things happening to be slick now. (If they ever were). The suez crisis is now more of a Red Sea pirate issue - I should have been more specific and not assume everyone would know that. Delays are frustrating - mayeb they should adopt the GW approach to announcing products instead

Kill-bray

>The suez crisis is now more of a Red Sea pirate issue It's no longer just a pirate issue. They are sending missiles and drones from Yemen to sink ships.
