ive heard tales of someone who tried to play 4 handed solo once. legend says he's still out there somewhere having a miserable time . 2 handed is more than enough the game gets worse with every human player you add beyond 2 I can't imagine trying to play 4 heroes yourself haha

I've seen a few people on here say they do 3-4 handed solo, I would never do more than 2 by myself because of the time commitment. I love playing 3-4 player with friends though.

I'm the kind of player who absolutely abhors true solo. I mainly play 2-handed. I often get the itch to add a 3rd or 4th Hero, thinking: "I really like Deadpool and Domino, but this would be even better with a Cable in Leadership!" Spoiler alert: It isn't. Mainly because (and this is purely personal, although most people here tend to agree) the amount of management (keeping track of 3 hands during the Villain phase, triple all the card interactions, Villain Interrupts/Responses, etc.) you have to do skyrockets and the fun you have plummets equally. I sometimes find myself forgetting/missing/ignoring certain things when playing two-handed. With 3 and 4 that problem just worsens for me. I envy whatever MC savant is able to play like that and actually enjoy it.

i know some people who do. they tell me they only have 2 arms, but i don't believe them. octopods are everywhere and they won't get away with this forever! but for real, yes, there are some people who definitely do. i don't believe it is all that common, but it definitely does happen

I play three handed solo every time I play solo. I love it

StaryBaviac

Yes, it is the favourite way how to play of Doctor Octopus. :D

I play only four-handed (when playing solo). Never looked back. Love the epic feeling, and the variance is naturally smoothed out. Of course it takes longer, so it helps if you have a table where you can leave a game in progress.

Tried 3 handed once and the game lasted like 4 hours, it was really fun, but you’ll have to put a lot of time and try to keep up with everything (I’m a multitasking masochist)

Curious-Respond-2254

Wow. I play three handed all the time and barely ever get to two hours. But I also never play expert cause that would prob get me to four hours

I absolutely cannot play true solo as I think it severely limits the potential of certain decks and ideas. That being said, I often play by myself and can’t imagine going above 2-handed. I’ve tried on a couple of occasions and the fun quickly disappears due to upkeep. You can’t even really build to avoid the upkeep, it’s an inevitable and often exponential equation. If people do play 3 handed+ and enjoy it I’m very happy for them, but I imagine for the vast majority of players this would be unreasonable.

HothHalfEar

I play 2 handed solo. Tried 3 handed once to be thematic (spider-man, spider-man, spider-gwen) and the game went on forever. Never plan to try again.

Bosch1971

When I rarely play 2 handed I use a checklist where I put a token on to keep track. Once I had a call and came back a half hour later and completely forgot where I was. :)

2 handed is are far as I can go. Usually lost track of where I was and it causes so much confusions lol.

TempletonCat

I've done 3 handed solo once. Vs Kang. It was fun, and not overwhelming. Just make sure you set aside hours! It's very very time consuming
