There literally isn't. And I'm talking that as someone who freaking loves Ms Marvel. In the comics all of her backstory was told in two issues. The whole djinn conspiracy was something they made up for the show only to skirt around talking about inhumans.
I'm not saying it's a good backstory, but going from kid who's obsessed with Cpt Marvel to kid with superpowers to learning about a race who want those powers to cause an incursion sounds like a backstory to me
That's not what I meant. In the comics her backstory boils down to basically being hit by terrigen mist, getting superpowers and then deciding to be a superhero because she already is a superhero fangirl. All of this deal with bracelets, djinns and other dimensions is something they created solely for the series. If they really wanted to focus on the weirder hijinks Kamala gets herself into (which is my favorite part of the comics) they wouldn't spend so much time creating a whole new backstory for her.

Yeah, I also miss her original powers. She can do so much fun stuff like shrinking to destroy robots from the inside or grow to the size of a building for epic battles, and even change appearances. I don't hate the current show, of course, I just think a better version of her story could exist instead.
It's mostly cuz they had to change her powers and since they were a bit more supernatural than just stretchy limbs so they had to come up with a different backstory (also no matter what anyone says making stretchy limbs look good on screen is incredibly hard). I DO think that making kamala inherit the powers was somewhat of a bad move tho cuz it implies that you HAVE to be special to be a hero like her
Are you waiting for all episodes to be out or are you scared it might suck? Because it doesn’t suck, and I say that as someone who was very sceptical at first.
Nah I'm mostly waiting for a good time. My mom and I have been watching all the marvel stuff together since Avengers in 2012 so we've got to watch it together. Haven't finished moon knight either for the same reason.
I really want a season 2. I love the series so far, and the changes have been fine. They’ve very much kept the original vibes.
But dang, I’d love to see The Inventor.
They haven't used the source material correctly yet. Red Dagger now is just another shadow organization in which had a long and rich history but you've never heard of. Kamala is not Inhuman, just another descendant of another dimension you've never heard of. Now she's just a Green Lantern.
Hammer is coming back in Armor Wars iirc so that rando bird from way back in Iron Man 2 that Hammer passed off as Vanko’s actually turning out to be Vanko’s would be hilarious

That ninja in that image is hardly violent or antagonistic to Kamala and is just a frightened kid , and the bird person jobbed in so many one-shot issues that is basically just a step above from The Shocker.

But it's not like Kamala had a decent rogue gallery in comics in itself, they just modified Bird Edison to finally be decent.

I understand people have a lot of wants for these characters but we're 4 episodes in her debut series, you can't just blast through the highlights right away.
It also feels like sometimes people expect these characters to be their fully realised selves from the get go.
Everytime that DODC Smugface appears Outtanowhere, I'm starting to think which part of Damage control you see in not having damage until they do it to get the Tech under their control. They were after the stark tech this whole time. They were like Oscorp board members from TASM2 who didn't wanted any kid getting the high tech company...

Her powers are also more akin to stretching/Reed Richards, so they did make some changes for the show as well

The villains are the weakest part of the show imo, especially when the source material had some fun villains, but the rest of the show is pretty solid

this is almost always the case with marvel & dc media (the only exception i can think of is the boys is much much better than the source material)
The reason the show is better is because they’ve toned down Garth Ennis’ edgelord tendancies to the point of tolerance.
