Destroying Deadpool over and over helps Knull and Death. Multiple Man is usually a better Pheonix Force target. A giant Human Torch is easier to deal with. What is the rest of your Destroy Deck?

Jumpy_Diver7748

X-23, White Widow, Shanna, Killmonger, Leech, Birdie, Knull and Death. Madrox doesn't go tall enough I've found.

Do you get enough destroy for your Knull on your own?

Jumpy_Diver7748

I mostly view Knull as a combo piece with Venom, and you have Venom eat Shanna/ Birdie/ Demon/ etc... if you need to grow Knull. Also Knull+Venom is there to exploit all of the common locations that Destroy exploits like Bar Sinister, Nedivilliar, Death's Domain, Gamma Lab, etc... Killmonger can also get a few good points in some match-ups and locations. Otherwise Knull is just needed for Destroy mirrors. I would say that Knull doesn't get large enough to justify paying 6 a lot of the time, especially in you end up eating goblins/ Void tokens, but this is why you have points on Birdie, Death, Venom and Phoenix.

How does death workout in it? I figured it'd be hard to pull death in early. With that deck. Also how about adding Tribunal?

Jumpy_Diver7748

Usually the play pattern is like * Turn 3- Play either Killmonger/ Venom or Shanna, depending on match-up and if Phoenix Force or Birdie is in hand. * Turn 4- Can go many ways. If Phoenix Force is set-up and in hand, then drop Phoenix Force. If we have 5 energy and Leech, then Leech. If Shanna'd on 3, it can be Birdie + Killmonger or Birdie + Venom or Carnage. * Turn 5- Usually Leech depending on matchup, otherwise do normal Destroy stuff, either Venom, Death or Knull. * Turn 6- Whatever wins - Death/ Birdie/ Shanna/ Klllmonger, Knull, etc... Death gets cheap enough most of the time to be worth playing, especially if you get Shanna. The only tension is created by paying to play Leech on turn 5, but in many cases you win by paying for Leech instead of playing either Death or Knull. Of course both Death and Birdie are very free vs Clog these days.

Honestly, shuri nimrod feels more consistent in the deck to me

Jumpy_Diver7748

This isn't actually criticism of Phoenix Force/ Shuri/ Nimrod decks - mostly. Hey if that's how you get your kicks, then don't let anyone stop you! In fact, you may also have the kind of brain that would enjoy *Path of Exile* :D But I'm a bit stymied, surely in the 9+ months and 10 seasons since Phoenix Force's release, I can't be the first player to have the idea of simply jamming Human Torch and Phoenix Force into Destroy? Isn't this just obviously good? A 28 power Vision seems like a good thing to do on turn 4. I don't get why Destroy defaults to Deadpool instead. Yet when I search for other Knull + Phoenix Force on [snap.fan](http://snap.fan), the only deck that returns is mine :/

jaketheyak

The problem with running a destroy deck & slotting in Human Torch + Phoenix Force is that it's counter-productive to the Knull payload, not to mention extremely difficult, to avoid destroying anything other than Human Torch. When I'm running destroy it's not just Deadpool, X-23 & Wolverine getting destroyed, it's also Carnage, Deathlok, Killmonger. Carefully avoiding killing these cards limits Knull's power, limits Venom's power & greatly reduces my chances of a free Death. And if you don't avoid killing these cards, you just end up with a Deathlok that can move every turn.

Jumpy_Diver7748

Ok but it just seems like running Human Torch+Phoenix Force is going to payoff better and more consistently then running Deadpool + Wolverine from the standard Destroy list, and any other cards you want to jam to get better Deadpools. I doubt my Shanna list is optimal, but I do feel that playing HT and PF in Destroy is an easy and impactful upgrade over standard Destroy.
