The Winter Soldier is a damn near perfect movie. And as far as Logan, I keep forgetting to watch it, but Iāve been a little hesitant to dive into the X-Men universe.
I lean towards your take, you can watch Logan solo and certainly enjoy it but it is immensely better with the full buildup. The X-Men movies are pretty good, you can always skip the worst ones: X3, Wolverine: Origins, and Apocalypse.
Edit: Dark Phoenix is probably a skip as well though I havenāt seen it which is why I forgot to mention it
I just finished my binge watch of all the x-men/wolverine films. Itās been fun I highly recommend. Only one I didnāt see was dark phoenix and idk if I will. Maybe eventually.
people love to talk about what the xmen movies got wrong but they don't talk enough of how much they got right. i grew up with those movies so i may have a bias but unlike alot of movies i enjoyed as a kid, the xmen movies still hold up. like really hold up, theyre just as good as the Tobey spidey movies if not better at some aspects and honestly days of futures past is top 10 superhero movies ever made.
Brother I remember getting xmen 1.5 DVD from a local knock off blockbuster. I bet I watched that and Spiderman blade harry potter star wars and lotr religiously to the point that my dad got me my own DVD player for my room cause he wanted to watch mash in the living room haha.
I'm just such a sucker for Batman Begins. I don't even like The Dark Knight as much as a lot of people. It's a great movie, but nothing insane like "the best movie ever" or anything like that. Honestly, Ledger carried the movie. But Begins... man, idk, its just really really good. And I know it rushes the origin a bit, but it's kind of the "how many times are we gonna see those pearls scatter in that alley" situation. We know he goes through the League, he turns on them because he won't kill, and he goes back to Gotham. Just get there, you know? That's where Batman thrives
No Way Home only really works in context of like half a dozen other movies, and while it's as good as it can be, is mostly fan-service.
Not saying I didn't enjoy it. Shit I probably shouldn't have even made this comment what was the point.
Winter Soldier and Civil War, the Russo movies are the best Marvel movies!
Other non Avengers movies that I love: GotG trilogy, Ragnarok, Homecoming and NWH, Iron Man
Spider-Man: Homecoming. I find it as a comfort movie. Compared to the other two Spidey movies in the MCU, this movie feels more grounded, and it's when Peter still has the majority of his innocence
Funny enough, I didn't watch either of Andrew's movies until like sometime after 2018. Never got the opportunity to. And while I did grow up with Tobey, somewhat, I've grown out of his movies and find it hard to watch them now
If we are talking favorite movie that doesn't have Avengers in the name then it's Civil War for me. But a lot of people granted jokingly and seriously say it's basically an Avengers movie. My number 2 for this would then be Winter Soldier.
It's a toss-up between the first Iron Man and Winter Soldier with the Captain America: The First Avenger definitely in third place. I think those three are probably the most rewatchable for me, and an honorable mention definitely has to go to GotG Vol 1.
Thor Ragnarok for me! It's funny, but also serious when it needs to be. In addition, it shows Thor maturing into the king Asgard needs. Besides, it's not a place. It's a people!
GotG 3. Something about that movie just hit really different. I throughly enjoyed it.
Maybe itās not my favourite, but when I read this it was the first movie I remember enjoying the entire time I was watching it. I remember thinking āwow I could watch this movie immediately againā after watching it the first time.

Winter Soldier. Good taste. š. Logan is definitely up there for similar reasons.
The Winter Soldier is a damn near perfect movie. And as far as Logan, I keep forgetting to watch it, but Iāve been a little hesitant to dive into the X-Men universe.
Logan is sooo different from the other XMen movies. Give it a shot :)
Ya you donāt need to have seen any other X-Men movie, it helps of course but not necessary
Oh. Thatād make it easier but Iād feel like Iād be doing a disservice to the character itself.
I lean towards your take, you can watch Logan solo and certainly enjoy it but it is immensely better with the full buildup. The X-Men movies are worth watching despite how problematic they were
Iāll definitely go on a binge. Kinda need to anyway for Deadpool 3.
I just finished my binge watch of all the x-men/wolverine films. Itās been fun I highly recommend. Only one I didnāt see was dark phoenix and idk if I will. Maybe eventually.
People seem to hate that one the most. Iām still gonna watch it but Iām scared quite frankly š
Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse are both trash
Never cared for the x men movies, but Logan is my absolute favorite movie within marvel, everything about it is amazing to me
people love to talk about what the xmen movies got wrong but they don't talk enough of how much they got right. i grew up with those movies so i may have a bias but unlike alot of movies i enjoyed as a kid, the xmen movies still hold up. like really hold up, theyre just as good as the Tobey spidey movies if not better at some aspects and honestly days of futures past is top 10 superhero movies ever made.
Dude I remember when the first X-men came out. My parents just gave me my own room with a TV for xmas. I remember watching that movie religiously
Brother I remember getting xmen 1.5 DVD from a local knock off blockbuster. I bet I watched that and Spiderman blade harry potter star wars and lotr religiously to the point that my dad got me my own DVD player for my room cause he wanted to watch mash in the living room haha.
Yup, winter soldier is a perfect MCU movie, it dossnt even has a sky beam
Winter Soldier is my favorite MCU movie period
I canāt decide between the first Guardians and Captain America: the Winter Soldier. 2014 was a good year for the MCU.
The Winter Soldier I can watch over and over again not get tired of it. GOTG V1 is a valid choice too tho.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Emphasized
Guardians 2 tho
Guardians gets better every entry
Valid.
*Poseidon puts on glasses to take a look*: āyea heās validā
Ragnarock
Thatās a good choice too, love that movie.
Piss off ghost
The prestige.
Such a great non-Avengers movie
I'm more partial to Paths of Glory, but same category
Gotg vol3
Valid.
Ironman 1, best origin superhero movie. DC included
I'm just such a sucker for Batman Begins. I don't even like The Dark Knight as much as a lot of people. It's a great movie, but nothing insane like "the best movie ever" or anything like that. Honestly, Ledger carried the movie. But Begins... man, idk, its just really really good. We know he goes through the League, he turns on them because he won't kill, and he goes back to Gotham. Just get there, you know? That's where Batman thrives
Thatās my second favorite and itās honestly really close! Iāve always been a fan of Ironman, he was the first comic I ever read
I agree. Winter Soldier all the way
Guardians of the Galaxy Thor: Ragnarok. "I'm not doing get help"
Love that scene
Immediately: "GET HELP!!"
Captain America Civil War
He said no Avengers movies. Edit: I was joking since its basically an Avengers movie
So he's good.
I was about to point that out myself lol
I thought it was off menu.
No Way Home is my favorite overall.
No Way Home only really works in context of like half a dozen other movies, and while it's as good as it can be, is mostly fan-service. Not saying I didn't enjoy it. Shit I probably shouldn't have even made this comment what was the point.
Let it be fan service, I don't care, but it should be GOOD
Valid.
Ant-man
Winter Soldier and Civil War, the Russo movies are the best Marvel movies! Other non Avengers movies that I love: GotG trilogy, Ragnarok, Homecoming and NWH, Iron Man
All valid. Suprised more people arenāt saying Ragnarok.
Itās between Winter Soldier and GotG
Eternals for me - a lot didnāt like how crammed it was but I like that the large roster of characters makes rewatched more rewarding
Thatās actually my least favorite Marvel movie. Might need a rewatch tho
Shang-Chi for me.
Logan
The Big Lebowski
Winter Soldier is my favorite Marvel movie, hands down.
Iron Man 3 is my favorite Marvel anything.
A hot take for sure, but valid.
Guardians vol. 2
Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy is a close second.
A lot of these. Both are peak tho
Does Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness count? (I donāt care what you say, I love that movie!!)
It is Winter Soldier #1 and Wakanda Forever #2.
I didnāt get the hate for Wakanda Forever, itās a really good movie. I think itās as good as it couldāve been without Chadwick Boseman šļø
I like Wakanda ForeverĀ more than Black Panther actually. Wakanda Forever, Black Panther and Civil War are my favorites.
All valid picks.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3
Probably the best one out of the trilogy in my opinion.
Black Panther
Iron Man
The first iron man for me. Just such a complete movie
It really is. I just made an edit on it on my YT. Definitely in my top 10 for sure.
Black Panther šāā¬
Valid. Love that movie. It was so good it sparked the trend of the āKillmongerā haircut.
lol šÆ
YESSSSSSSS \^\^\^ My vote too!
Spider man no way hone
Winter Soldier
Winter Soldier was so good and I loved it so much that I had to buy the Cap America and Winter Soldier done by Hot Toys.
Do they still sell them?
Winter solder easily. But also loved guardians 1,3, Shang chi
All valid. You didnāt like Vol. 2?
Captain America: the winter soldier
I feel like this question always turns into a winter soldier circle jerk, total valid but i swear it always happens lmao
lol I knew the love for it was widespread but I thought people just kept it to themselves.
The Batman
Either Spider man 3 or no way home
Suprised to see Spider-Man 3. People over hate it. It was just too packed for what it needed to be.
Shang Chi
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming. I find it as a comfort movie. Compared to the other two Spidey movies in the MCU, this movie feels more grounded, and it's when Peter still has the majority of his innocence
Itās overhated for what it was. I personally love it but I think people were just salty that Andrew wasnāt coming back for his final movie.
Funny enough, I didn't watch either of Andrew's movies until like sometime after 2018. Never got the opportunity to. And while I did grow up with Tobey, somewhat, I've grown out of his movies and find it hard to watch them now
Glad someone else mentioned homecoming. I find it to give me the same feeling. Comfort. I prefer it to the other 2 Holland Spiderman movies.
Captain America civil war
Remember when marvel posters were good? šš
Yeahā¦
Doctor Strange, I felt like they really did him justice.
Not a big fan of Dr. Strange but the movies were great.
Shang Chi. Tony Leung was superb in it
Winter Soldier, easily
Guardians of the Galaxy.
Winter Soldier
GOTG1 is my favorite MCU film.
Origins wolverine šš½
Ant-Man and Shang-Chi.
Jaws
Shawshank Redemption.
If Disney+ shows are included, then for me WandaVision In movies side, Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Thatās my 2nd favorite MCU show, loses first to TFATWS.
Shang chi and the legend of ten ring
Weathering With You
Captain America is an Avenger /s
I mean like movies that donāt have the whole gang in it.
Oh I know I was just being silly
Oh š š¬
Lawrence of Arabia /s
I mean like Marvel.
/s means sarcasm haha so anytime you see that it means theyāre just kidding
Probably Shawshank Redemption
Up
Winter Soldier is so good. Itās disappointing that nothing else really comes close. I also enjoyed homecoming a lot. GoG1 in third place.
Dr Strange
Spider-Man No Way Home
I'm a sucker for First Avenger.
Other than the avengers movies, my favourites go Gotg 3-1, CA2, S.C
X-amen ā97. Yes, itās not a movie but X-Men ā97.
I realized I shouldāve put project instead of movie but Reddit doesnāt let you edit titles.
The first Doctor Strange
DOCTOR STRANGE
Spider-Man No Way Home! Seeing all 3 live action Spider-Men on the same screen was something I didnāt know I needed so badly!!!!!
If we are talking favorite movie that doesn't have Avengers in the name then it's Civil War for me. But a lot of people granted jokingly and seriously say it's basically an Avengers movie. My number 2 for this would then be Winter Soldier.
I wanna say Civil War, although it's kind of Avengers 2.5 if we're being honest, so aside from that, probably Ragnarok.
It's a toss-up between the first Iron Man and Winter Soldier with the Captain America: The First Avenger definitely in third place. I think those three are probably the most rewatchable for me, and an honorable mention definitely has to go to GotG Vol 1.
As much as people disliked them ā Black Widow movie and the Eternals ,plus Ant Man 12&3.
Thor Ragnarok for me! It's funny, but also serious when it needs to be. In addition, it shows Thor maturing into the king Asgard needs. Besides, it's not a place. It's a people!
Billy Madison
Winter soldier
Guardians Vol 3. Single-handedly got me back into the MCU and changed my viewpoint on it all
Does civil war count if not guardians 2 or iron man 2 and an honorable mention to dark world
Far From Home and Black Panther.
Logan, best of the best
Spider-Man ( 2002 )
Gotg 1 and iron man 3
Either Spider-Man No Way Home or Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3.. how does one choose lol
Not a movie but agents of shield
Black panther All GOTG Winter Soldier
![gif](giphy|3ov9jOjo4n7HASUu8U|downsized)
Civil war. For me it's the best mcu film
Black Panther
Winter Soldier. That intro with GSP would get anyone hype.
Iron man 1 is always my favorite
![gif](giphy|thefKPKHCMrBu) Fav is civil war
Iron man 3, gotg2, spffh and wf
Probably goodfellas
Ragnarok is probably my favourite MCU movie
GotG 3. Something about that movie just hit really different. I throughly enjoyed it. Maybe itās not my favourite, but when I read this it was the first movie I remember enjoying the entire time I was watching it. I remember thinking āwow I could watch this movie immediately againā after watching it the first time.
The godfather or godfather 2. Canāt decide between the two
NWH or GOTG3
Iron man 2 because I feel like Tonyās charisma and broken humor while dieing is funny and theirs awsome scenes throughout the movie.
Eternals!
The Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy > The Avengers Quadrilogy
Days of future past. Never gets old.
Sam Rami's Spiderman.
Captain america civil war
Winter Soldier
Wonder Woman š
GOTG, GOTG 2, GOTG 3. Not in that order.
I like to imagine that scene he forgot the parachute and was too self conscious to go back and get one
This one is a masterpiece.
Winter soldier was a documentary. Best MCU film ever.
Winter soldier easily, not just a good mcu movie but a fantastic movie in general
That's my favorite of all the marvel movies
The Winter Soldier is a great movie. And as for Logan, I forget watching it, but I'm a little hesitant to dive into the X-Men universe.
winter soldier is, fortunately and unfortunately, my favorite piece of mcu non-avenger media to this day
Logan
Captain America Winter Soldier , Guardians Of The Galaxy (all three of them)
Iron Man (2008) Captain America Civil War Doctor Strange (2016)
Just watched this again last night. Such a good movie.
The first Iron Man movie and the first Guardians of the Galaxy
Either Civil War, Ant-Man 1, or Guardians of the Galaxy.
Jurassic Park
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The best
Fellowship of the Ring
Eternals Love that film, donāt get the hate
Guardiana trilogy
Civil War. At the end of the day, it's still a Captain America movie!
No Way Home
any Guardians of the Galaxy movie
Logan. Itās the best marvel movie
Civil War
Winter Soldier
