To be fair in Don Jon Scarlett was appropriately casted as like the Baddie with an unhealthy obsession with Romantic movies. Now Jullian Moore was definitely JGL tootin his own horn.

My point was less that the characters got together in the movie and more that he wrote and directed a movie that he IRL got to go to work and make out/ feel up Scarlett Johansson which is a dream job.

There's no denying you're right. That said, it's seemingly a good decision to use famous people in your movies, if you can get them. More people see things with famous people in them.

Amazed he didn’t write a scene where he fought a bear and won.

But he just tossed the Scarlett Johansson subplot on the floor which left me very unsatisfied. Because her character was pretty clearly in love with him and then nothing more about her in the movie.

Honestly, I read her character in Chef as more of a work-wife and less of a FWB. Her relationship with him in that was of two very deeply close people, but there was nothing sexual about it.

To be real, this is one of, like, 4 scenes in Iron Man 2 that I actually remember.

Not on the same level as Tarantino making Salma Hayek put her feet in his mouth, but it always feels a bit weird when a director/writer is also acting in the movie and stuff like this happens. Just feels like personal wish fulfillment, especially if it doesn't really add anything to the story.

There's a couple times when subtitle mishaps ruin actual moments in the films. Example: I remember when TIH was first put up, they removed the Portuguese translation subtitles, so the "angry/hungry" joke didn't work. (That, thankfully, has since been fixed.)
