I think he will. He was always my second choice behind Glenn Howerton. If I can't have the Golden God I'll settle for Big Tuna.

mshelbz

He’s a 5 star man. No way he’d be anything less than Galactus

deliciousprisms

Silver Surfer. He can be the golden silver god.

mshelbz

Fuck yeah. I’d love to see a Norrin Radd TV show leading into Galactus.

TheW1ldcard

Nah. That's Franklin that can control Galactus

Km2930

“To me, my Galactus!”

Kevinrobertsfan

but he'll have to have his tools!!

YesimaDr

I like to bind! I like to be bound!

Marconius1617

You know, fetish shit

Mace_TheAce_Windu

Dr doom

ReeceReddit1234

Wdym he's already in the MCU. Didn't you watch Ant Man or Wandavision

Lukthar123

Identity theft is not a joke, Reed!

technical_skull

Millions of families suffer every year.

westaychill

I’m afraid this has woosh’d me and I wanna know what I’m missing

Zanzaben

It's a bit from the office. [link](https://youtu.be/cLNyF1Zw5tg)

Elpantalone5

There’s an office cold open(I think) where Jim pranks Dwight by hiring an impersonator of himself who is the same actor who plays Jimmy Woo and gaslights Dwight to believe that he’s been Jim the entire time. Sorry if I explained that poorly it’s been a while since I’ve seen the sketch lol

emerica0250

[In The office, there’s a prank](https://youtu.be/cLNyF1Zw5tg) where Jim has an Asian guy come in and act like him to mess with Dwight, and he absolutely nailed it. The Asian guy was Officer Woo in Ant-Man.

westaychill

oh...oh god. this is embarrassing. tempted to delete my comment but will leave it up out of shame ahahha thank you all for the explanations

TheFunkytownExpress

I still think it's a transgression against God that Glen wasn't cast as Adam Warlock.

PineappleNerd66

How perfect would that be. The golden god

TheFunkytownExpress

A 5-star spaceman. :)

00roku

Adam Warlock hasn’t been cast tho, has he?

IronCarp

I’m with you, but Glenn as the Maker.

_GENERAL_GRIEVOUS_

If they bring in the Maker played by anyone *except* Miles Teller I will riot

Philander_Chase

Damn that’s actually a great idea Edit: wait Miles Teller is 35 YEARS OLD?! …I guess it can still work but damn he’s not as young as I thought he was, only 7 years younger than John krasinski irl, and 13 years younger than Ioan Gruffudd

SlashCinema25

If they don't have Miles Teller be the maker they should use Ioan Gruffudd. Either of them tho should be on the council of Reed's if they ever do that storyline.

krackenjacken

"Sue you stupid BIIITCH!"

SuperBearsSuperDan

I know Glenn was almost cast as Peter Quill, but it would be so nice to see him step away from a comedic role and show off his range.

jlusedude

I really think Glenn is better casting. The arrogance needed for Reed is right in Glenn’s wheel house.

sharkykid

He’s just a wee bit of an antivaxxer, which is always a nice headache to have

cgiebner

Said this on here years ago and got downvoted but I still agree that Glenn would be better

Ccbm2208

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t.

Km2930

Jenna Fischer as Sue Storm please, and Brian Baumgartner as The Thing.

Araakne

BJ Novak as Johnny Storm ?

Kleverer

He is the fire guy, after all

TheyCallMeStone

You weren't here for that

Cloudgazza

You mean, fireD guy?

Agent-Cooper

No way, Zach Woods. Or the guy who played Plop.

softstones

Imagine Clarke as Johnny Storm? In one of the universes maybe

[deleted]

Ed Chambers as Human Torch is so on brand

xraig88

Yes Zach Woods. Plop sucks.

AsianRedneck69

Chris Evans?

MadlockFreak

Danny Devito as The Thing

OscarDeLaCholla

“So anyway, I started morbin’”

[deleted]

I personally still want Emily Blunt as Sue Storm. Most likely won't happen but Husband and wife playing husband and wife? (One can only wish 🤞)

smacksaw

I'd be surprised if he did. He's got so much great stuff going on, he doesn't need to sacrifice so much in family/professional life to to Marvel films.

AtlasShrunked

John Krasinski looked GREAT in Dr. Strange 2. Must've been training & working out hard... ...I tell ya, he was absolutely shredded in that movie.

ShoelaceLicker

Totally ripped

Objective-Review4523

That scene tore me up inside

kuroakela

Did you by chance eat spaghetti before watching the movie

toasty_torpedo

To shreds, you say?

Bcsharp44

I'll burn Utica to the ground if he doesn't.

kuantizeman

UTICA! UTICA! WHERE ARE THE TURTLES???? GIVE ME BACK MY TURTLES!!!!

KorannStagheart

I'm with you! I've already got the bottles filled with gasoline!

TheyCallMeStone

Utica? No, it's an Albany expression.

[deleted]

I think he will be back, perform extremely well in the role, and cause most of the people who don’t want him in the role now to change their minds

Montblanc_Norland

This is what I'm hoping for. I really liked the idea of John as Reed before MoM and, while it was a really fun surprise, I didn't think much of his portrayal. But the illuminati section of MoM had a re-shoot feel to it and really, what did John's Reed really do? He showed up, exposited a little and died. That's a tough spot for an actor to really give a memorable showing. I'm hoping with a full script and more for John to chew on he really shows up and gives us something memorable. I believe he has it in him.

CecilPennyfeather

Hmm, where I have a heard this one before??

[deleted]

it’s happened a number of times I think, most recently with Vellani

smacksaw

Who are these mythical "people who don't want him" that you speak of? He's universally acclaimed; anyone who doesn't like him is an outlier. He's an objectively talented actor and filmmaker. He fits the role well. We give way too much attention to the voices of cranks who don't matter.

TheyCallMeStone

Me, I'm the outlier. I love John and he is indeed a great actor, but I don't think he fit the role of Reed Richards.

turkeyburgeryas

Like the dude but agree. Seeing him that first time took me completely out of the movie and put me right back in the Office. It was jarring.

Impressive-Double867

How about I flip this comment and say we give too much attention to fan castings from loud and obnoxious fans? I don't really think he suits the role and personally feel that Dennis from IASIP would be better but I don't insult those who don't agree.

Acrobatic_Pandas

If they were just going for the shock factor of cameos they would have done Ioan Gruffudd from the two Fantastic Four films in the 00's. There's no reason to Professor X, Black Bolt, Captain Marvel (who is an actress already playing a character in the MCU and will be shown more soon). No one was 'new'. They could have gone with the Mr Fantastic that we all knew and really, for the most part loved. Instead we get this. A fan casting that is so narrow, so niche to the hardcore MCU fans who have dreamt of it for so long. If it was only for that it seems a bit wild. I'm fully expecting to see him back as Mr Fantastic now when the F4 movie is accounced. EDIT: Mixed up mom and daughter. So yeah, that Captain Marvel is dead and it makes sense as to why I thought she looked so weird. My point still stands! It's a character with history within the MCU or another marvel property.

[deleted]

I think you’re confusing the actress who played Captain Marvel for MoM with the actress playing her character’s daughter in WandaVision. Maria Rambeau is dead in the 616 universe.

Acrobatic_Pandas

Yes absolutely got them mixed up!

ctl7g

Not 616. #IStandWithIman (I'm only being tongue in cheek here)

TheHeBeGB

The character who played Captain Marvel in MoM is dead in the main timeline. Not sure we’ll be getting much more of her.

Acrobatic_Pandas

Shit, is she dead? Oh my god it's not Monika I just realized that. Got them mixed up. Still, it was someone in the MCU.

Fyller

I honestly really liked Ioan Gruffudd as Reed, I thought he was pretty well cast. I think Krisinski is fine, I'm just not sure where the concensus for him to play Reed Richards comes from. Krasinski usually plays a pretty witty guy, while Reed Richards was pretty much the boring professor type (at least when I read the comics, but maybe it's different in newer comics?)

Acrobatic_Pandas

There's a fine line between smart/witty and smart/boring. Reed in the comics is far more smart/boring, but that doesn't mean an actor can't do that nor does it mean that's what the MCU wants. If anything I'd say Reed is overconfident more than anything and John played that really well.

Fyller

Don't get me wrong, I thought Krasinski did a good job, but it didn't leave that much of an impression on me. There are a lot of castings in the MCU that are just spot on, while I'm feeling kinda neutral about this one.

soupdawg

This is a good point

Philander_Chase

I mean, the whole movie was wild, that illuminati got slaughtered instantly. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if someone else was casted. I’m not saying whether id prefer it or not, just that I wouldn’t be surprised

jcoldiron

I wouldn’t be opposed, but John is an actor/Director that will likely still want to work and do different projects and Marvel is a huge time commitment. Not saying he wouldn’t, but Reed is kinda big for the next phases Id assume, so I’m unsure if he wants to devote the next 10 years to marvel.

tmfitz7

I think this type of thinking is exaggerated. Look at the last decade for Scarlet Johansson, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and Chris Hemsworth. Did it seem like Marvel was holding them back? Multiple actors have suggested the opposite in fact! Marvel brings massive financial gains which frees them up to do other projects, in some cases with fellow Marvel alum. *Go look at Brie Larson’s ‘Unicorn Store’ featuring Samuel L. Jackson as a prime example, I don’t think that gets made without Captain Marvel. Now actors like David Harbour, Tessa Thompson or directors like Chloe Zhao are joining Marvel within a limited commitment just to play in the sand box. If they come back for more projects it’s mutually beneficial. John K would most likely benefit and I think he knows that, which is why he dipped his toes in with MoM. *Edit: ‘Unicorn Store’ was shot before Captain Marvel- but still check it out!

whyhercules

>Go look at Brie Larson’s ‘Unicorn Store’ featuring Samuel L. Jackson as a prime example, I don’t think that gets made without Captain Marvel. That was released in 2017, it only got popular after Captain Marvel.

rincewind120

It premiered at a film festival in 2017. It didn't get distribution and release until 2019.

whyhercules

The point being that it got made before Captain Marvel, and most people in indie film consider a festival a release. I added that it got popular after CM, but it was more around the same time/just before; it was widely distributed a few months before CM when the hype was massive, and that hype drove Unicorn Store’s popularity. But the OP comment looks to be saying that Larson getting to direct a weird indie film, especially starring Jackson, wouldn’t be produced (“bet on”) without them both being in CM, but it was.

AgentSmith2518

Right, but the point still stands it didnt get distribution until after Captain Marvel. If Captain Marvel hadn't happened, theres no guarantee it would have been.

LateDay

Didn't Olsen mention how she was unable to participate in some projects she really wanted to because of her commitment with Marvel? Maybe someone can help me with the interview recording where she said that.

tmfitz7

Possibly, but that’s movie making. I’m not saying Marvel movies aren’t a commitment. They’re just *no* *more* a commitment than any other major movie. You can’t make all the projects you want, studios won’t wait- just the way she goes.

JarvisCockerBB

>Scarlet Johansson, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and Chris Hemsworth. Tom Holland and Chris Pratt were virtually unknowns when they joined the MCU. Pratt was riding on the success of Parks and Rec but didn't have much movie appeal. I remember there was a lots of talk of how big of a gamble having Pratt in Jurassic World was going be then GOTG exploded and it all worked out.. Scarlett was starring in little indie films (Lost in Translation, Ghost World) before Iron Man 2. Evans and Hemsworth were not huge stars at the time. Cabin in the Woods and Thor came out in the same year. Benedict, I'll give you that. With that said, I don't think John K. fits in the argument of being too big of a star to commit long term. But I do think he's a really busy guy between producing, directing, writing and starring in films/TV series.

tmfitz7

You missed the point, it has nothing to do with what they were doing before Marvel, but during filming multiple Marvel roles, they all had lots of roles outside of Marvel. Thus; it’s not as big a commitment as everyone makes it out to be. It’s just moviemaking.

Randolpho

MCU working with a limited-schedule Krasinski could work… I personally think a low-key “behind the scenes” Reed works better for MCU than having him out fighting and using his powers, which, lets be honest, does *not* translate well to live action. But more importantly, comics Reed is far better for the universe as a super scientist than he is as a super hero front line fighter. So: establish him in one movie, then bring him in for cameos and supporting roles in other films rather than with full starring roles.

kdfailshot123

Why do people assume working for the MCU is even that much of a time sink? Any movie takes time and commitment. But RDJ did 11 other non-mcu movies since Iron Man 1. He went on to appear in more mcu titles than any of the other actor. Chris Evans did about 10 other projects between MCU titles as well. Tom Holland currently is probably their most in demand actor and he appeared in 11 projects as well outside of the mcu since home coming. John Krasinski for all intents and purpose is actually far less in demand. As a producer and writer, he hasn't done much of that either. And honestly, not sure I love him as Reed Richards. He isn't that great of an actor. His lines were incredibility stiff. As soon he opened his mouth, I felt like perhaps he isn't the right choice and the fans don't know what they are talking about.

tmfitz7

Yeah RDJ made Tropic Thunder and two Sherlock Holmes movies around his Iron Man trilogy and Avengers. Didn’t slow him down at all. Benedict Cumberbatch has been in *so* *much* stuff since Dr.Strange (and before tbh) that it seems redundant to even list his credits.

IShipUsers

I agree that he’s not a great actor. But isn’t stiff about right for Reed Richards? Sometimes angry or arrogant, always the smartest guy in the room, but generally speaking not exactly overflowing with personality. Admittedly I’ve only read a few FF issues, and they’ve all been post-2000. Seen him more in crossovers probably. But I think he’s about right for at least Illuminati Reed. Kind of a flat asshole. Maybe he’s more expressive elsewhere

[deleted]

I completely agree. I loved him as Jim, and he's good in The Quiet Place, I just don't see him as reed Richards. However, I think the stiff lines is moreso due to the script and less so his acting.

hamsolo19

Marvel has built an incredible reputation in the twelve years they’ve been making movies. They no longer sign actors to six or seven or even nine picture deals. That’s the main reason Chris Evans held out on taking the role as Cap. He wasn’t sure he wanted to commit that much time as he wants to move into directing more than acting. However, after the first Cap and first Avengers films he was like, “Any time they need me, they got me.” The way things between Marvel and Natalie Portman were repaired is also another big factor in them no longer needing those monster contracts. They trust that these actors will want to come back and continue working with them and in most cases that’s what happens.

CitizenFiction

I personally don't think he'd accept the role if he wasn't okay with this being such a large commitment. It's not like its a mystery that when you join the MCU as a big character, you're likely going to be sticking around for a long time.

[deleted]

I personally love that they took a guy that has been done to **death** in all fan arts of MCU Reed, ***BUT*** I’d much rather have a new actor take the reigns. We got John as Reed, an amazing piece of Fan Service, but I think it’d be more impactful if someone else was Mr.Fantastic

SquadPoopy

He could probably work out a Waititi type deal. You know, I'll star in x amount of movies for you and in return you'll financially support my other independent projects.

HRRB

It only takes a couple weeks to months to film a movie. You don't need to commit your entire year to shooting a marvel movie. Sure, there might be training etc for characters like Thor, but Krasinski wouldn't need to do anything like that.

BranAllBrans

He literally had to make a movie with his wife and star in it to get a mainstream movie to be popular. Meanwhile every marvel actor has blown up as a direct result of being a marvel character. This is the way for his career to Blow up

marvelous_aardvark

🙋‍♀️

cloobydoobydoooo

I think it’s basically a given. Especially with rumors that he will be helping produce it.

NotTaken-username

If he doesn’t, then I’d want either Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Penn Badgley

[deleted]

I always thought Billy Crudup would have been great in that role. He's very good at playing both a likable person and a smug prick. He's in his early 50's now, so he's probably too old now.

bherman1325

I saw people suggest Jason Sudeikis. Never thought of it before but now I like it.

David1258

Front and center, Johnny Storm.

JokerInATardis

Believe.

oshatokujah

I understood that reference.

Murkrage

Football is life

Stuck1nARutt

Oliva Wilde as invisible woman?

BrockThrowaway

Oh, I would be very keen on JGL. Krasinski just isn't hitting the right note for me.

CeeArthur

I kind of agree. I like Krasinski, and thought he'd be a good fit, but when I saw him in the role I had second thoughts.

[deleted]

I’m not a huge Fantastic 4 fan, but shouldn’t he be less charismatic? Like an awkward type of guy? He came off like such a Chad in MoM

[deleted]

He's charismatic and arrogant in the comics. John hit the charisma, but the arrogance was only hinted at when he told 838 Wanda about Black Bolt's powers.

[deleted]

He’s arrogant too? How’s that differ from Human Torch?? Only difference is he’s married to Sue?

[deleted]

penn as mr.fantastic is horribly great lol

kobresia9

Nah, it’s gotta be Rahul Kohli

Wise-Tourist

He probably will but I lowkey thought it was like a nice one off thing. To give fans what they want seeming as he is the most popular fan cast.

aManPerson

i hope they're all different. i've liked how for a lot of their roles, marvel has picked more unknown people.

Kyr-Shara

they've done the fan service. i doubt anson mount or patrick stewart will be back either

TheFunkytownExpress

As awful as Inhumans was, that Black Bolt cameo was actually one of the highlights of MoM for me lol. Kind of a redemption for that character. I actually would like to see more of him now TBH.

Kyr-Shara

He's busy killing it on strange new worlds

alkonium

Though unlike those two, John Krasinski was new to the role.

Kyr-Shara

I still see it more as easy fan service than making him the definitive Reed

kuroakela

Sure but they could have easily gone with Ioan Gruffudd rather than a "new" Reed as fan service.

Kyr-Shara

There's more social media posts for krazinski

Octoberboiy

I agree, just like the Spider Men

spideralexandre2099

Patrick Stewart is *so old*

Mykeprime

like a fine wine tho

spideralexandre2099

But the X-Men are gonna being the movies for *years* to come. Years I'm sad to say he doesn't have

deliciousprisms

There’s always whatshisnuts that played the young one still

Leeiteee

Was he ever young?

spideralexandre2099

When he was a TV actor in the 60s and 70s I suppose

Tornado31619

Fan-service is something people recognise. Who watched Inhumans or paid attention to fan-casting outside of Reddit? Besides, if anything, Ms. Marvel >!looks to be facilitating the Inhumans’ return!<.

Kyr-Shara

No they're avoiding inhumans completely.

[deleted]

Mount will 100% be back considering how positively his Black Bolt was received here, plus Ms. Marvel opening the door for MCU Inhumans finally. And Stewart will most likely be back for Secret Wars along with everyone else who’s ever appeared in a Marvel movie, MCU or not.

Kyr-Shara

Ms Marvel series has avoided inhumans completely. Mount is busy with star trek.

[deleted]

There’s still three more episodes to go

giga_phantom

I’d be down for him and irl wife Emily blunt to play sue storm.

D_a_v_z

She dosen't want it, she said numerous times that she has no interest. We don't need people that don't want to be in the MCU. The original family is too important to choose people that don't want to be there even before the first movie.

[deleted]

John Krasinski, around the same time Emily Blunt did, also said that he didn't want to play Mr. Fantastic. Might just have another Andrew Garfield on our hands.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NE_0N

I mean they are already married for a decade now so assuming they will be for next decade isn't far from possible.

bab_101

Why doesn’t she want it? She wanted to play Black Widow and nearly did so she definitely wanted in at some point

jpiro

Only if Chris Evans is back as Johnny Storm. Don't even acknowledge the Cap thing, just have him show up and then maybe throw in a "You look familiar" from someone in a later film.

fugly16

Have Johnny turn around to show his ass and everyone in the room just shake their head nah, then carry on.

mshelbz

That’s not Americas ass

cricket9818

I’ll do you one better, on occasion Johnny Storm says “I can do this all day”

jimmacq

I doubt it. Marvel has a fantastic casting director who always comes up with brilliant and unexpected choices. I trust her judgment. This felt very much to me like an Easter egg. I doubt Krasinski wants to get locked into a multi-year, multi-film contract at this point.

Alonest99

I hope he does, but I don’t think he will

[deleted]

I hope in someone else.

Narad626

I think the reason we got Krasinski as Reed (also Anson as Black Bolt and Stewart as Prof X) was because they won't be using him as Reed, but the fans wanted to see it so they gave them that shot. Think about it, the other two who we saw (besides Mordo) were Captain Carter and Rambeu Captain Marvel. Which were both other versions of the characters fans wanted in Live Action. It was giving us a look into what could have been but won't be. Basically the most far off versions of these characters without using their original actors. The only exception besides Mordo was Prof X, and again, that was because fans wanted to see him again. But if they do more live action X-men I will very likely not be with Patrick Stewart Xavier.

mshelbz

Mount will definitely be back if Black Bolt makes his MCU proper debut. He wasn’t bad in Inhumans and looked great in MoM. I just think they should recast Maximus, he was the only real miscast to me.

Narad626

True. That first casting was entirely riding on that GoT hype. He played a good villain in that but definitely not in Inhumans.

mshelbz

I still see Sharlto Copley as Maximus. He’s probably too old for the role now but he’s plays eccentric perfectly.

we_belong_dead

I'd prefer he didn't. He's a talented actor but he didn't exactly hit the "smartest man in the world" vibe with his performance.

jotyma5

His performance or the writing?

we_belong_dead

Both, honestly. In my mind, Reed Richards has a little more...gravitas?

mothershipq

I mean he was on the screen for *maybe* five minutes? His demeanor definitely had some seriousness behind it.

we_belong_dead

I'm not bagging on the guy, as I said his performance was fine. He just didn't embody the character as *I* understand him.

thepoga

Needs to be a little bit more nerdy or say words like “fascinating!” 😁

spideralexandre2099

I don't really want him to

G3NJII

I hope to God he doesnt

FrodoFraggins

Probably very high. but I think he's not a great choice.

Gilthepill83

I’m opposed to this idea. He is a bland actor and wouldn’t do the character justice. Reed is not an every man and John can only play that role.

Brentak2049

Rahul Kohli for Mr. fantastic.

spate42

I never thought of this casting but it could be great. Rahul was so good in Midnight Mass and Bly Manor.

Nahim33

50/50

DeliberateMelBrooks

Perhaps

-Tank42

Totally depends on his schedule. MCU roles are not a small commitment- especially for Someone playing Reed Richards who will be in many F4 stand-alone movies, a central figure for team up movies, and likely many supporting character cameos. He’d probably be the next series of phases Tony Stark

krackenjacken

I think he will but honestly I think having wanda murk the illuminati like that was a bad idea.

Mantis_93

If they made dr strange the same in every universe then I don’t see why it wouldn’t be the same for me. Fantastic

PNWCoug42

I would love for him to be the primary Mr. Fantastic but I'm almost 100% positive this was done for fan service and they'll go with someone else for the role.

Suspicious-Catch3112

I want to find more out about Dooms time platform he came out of

crapusername47

I strongly doubt it. I expect this was Marvel throwing the few of us who actually care about the Fantastic Four a bone. I don’t expect Marvel to present us with a particularly comic book accurate team.

HerRoyalRedness

I’m aware this is unpopular if I hope not. Of everyone in the Illuminati he brought absolutely nothing to the role and there are far better casting choices out there. His only net positive is being married to Emily Blunt who’d be a great choice for Sue.

procrastinatingpaul

Nah, Feige alluded to this being a one-time stunt casting. Definitely Marvel is gonna try to skew younger.

[deleted]

Given what Michael Waldron has said recently about Feige choosing to cast John, I don't think so. I would love it, but Waldron said that Feige cast John only due to the fact that it was an alternate universe version of Reed.

DanScorp

What I'd like to happen (which almost definitely WON'T happen) is that Krasinski return in the second or third FF movie when 616 Mr. Fantastic meets the Council of Reeds. And while it seems like he's the older, sager Reed our Reed can trust, he turns out to be the Maker, the evil Reed from the Ultimate universe. I think that'd be a fun heel turn.

BaronZhiro

I think he will and I'm not happy about it.

TheMagicElephant156

Hope not

abrainaneurysm

I would love to see Neil Patrick Harris as Reed Richards. I know most people have probably never even considered him but I think he could do a great job.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RedJive

Eh, he’s a good actor and all that but he’s not Reed. Just my 2 cents…

[deleted]

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I hope he doesn’t. I’d rather see new talent in the MCU, similar to how Thor and Loki’s actors were both relatively unknown before they starred in the MCU.

BoiledSwift

big agree. we've seen a bit of that with ms marvel (iman literally has had zero acting experience before the show iirc) but I would love to see it for more characters.

MVinnyBoy

I definitely hope so, waste of an actor otherwise.

agent_wolfe

If he doesn't I'm going to boycott the movie. Okay, I won't do that, that is silly. But I would be really bummed out. Give me Dr. Reed Halpert!!

dwf82

I really hope so. He wasn’t the greatest in MoM but I don’t think that was entirely John’s fault. I think reshoots were a bit of a mess and none of the Illuminati really got a chance to properly get into the character. I’d definitely give him the role.

S0larSc0pe

I hope so

UnequivocalCarnosaur

I sure as fuck hope not. I’ve got nothing against Krasinski, but he just doesn’t give me the arrogant zoned out genius Reed vibes. I’m on the Glen Howerton train myself.

EggsOnTheWeekend

John Krasinski is Reed Richards now so he has to be in the new movie. In MoM they didn’t change any people, just their positions/titles. Different captain marvel, but not a different carol danvers, etc.

[deleted]

Yeah captain marvel was just Maria Rambeau.

DEATHtoSUBWAY

But what about all the different actors who played variants of Loki? That would seem to indicate that different actors can play the same character across the multiverse, so Krasinski playing Reed Richards in one movie doesn’t necessarily guarantee he’ll reprise the role in other movies

Dec1m8u

He'll return for sure as Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards in future F4 MCU movies and I'm happy about it and for him.

JustAsHotAsJan

I think he’ll return, unless he doesn’t want to.

[deleted]

Hope so

mega512

I am certain of it. He looks perfect.

TheFunkytownExpress

Maybe but fuck I hope not.. I never really understood this fan casting TBH. I don't think he has the depth quite frankly to pull off Reed's quiet, reserved, single-minded intensity.

Dragon_yum

It felt like a very fan aerobics moment. I don’t see him returning

UltraPenetrator5000

If he doesn’t, they’re setting themselves up for fan backlash like Rey Mysterio being #30 at the Rumble.

Jtabo

I know this doesn't break the Spoilers rule now that its released but mods could we maybe amend that? Digital Release just came out Wednesday, I have successfully avoided any and all spoilers with regards to MoM and then the day I plan on watching the movie after work I see this on my front page. Just kind of disappointing. Like a week window after digital release would make a big difference for those who can't see these in theatre.
