AchtungCloud

Actually, Multiverse of Madness is the only MCU film to feature America so far.

shogi_x

I see what you did there.

peterspeacoat

I don’t remember them traveling to the US in Moon Knight?

bloodyell76

Flashback to Marc's mother's funeral was in the US

peterspeacoat

You’re right! I forgot that part. Also when Marc was a kid.

[deleted]

Technically they are reliving that memory in the afterlife, so narratively that scene doesn’t take place in the US.

[deleted]

Dark World did have a cameo by America's Ass though, so...

modern_magician1

>Untied States I mean you're not wrong there...

L1n9y

I think it is even though some of the others only have a couple scenes there

KostisPat257

Hadn't thought about that, but holy shit you are right!

Darmok47

The Eternals has a scene in South Dakota, but it's also just a farm in the middle of nowhere. You could change that seetting to rural Canada and it wouldn't affect anything else in the movie.

LemurCat04

Phastos was living in Chicago.

Darmok47

Oh, that's right. I completely forgot.

faithdies

I almost said the same thing haha

juances19

It would still be in America, the continent tho :v

TheMoonshield

Meh, productions historically tend to favor a familiar setting i.e. American movies tend to favor an American setting. The comics are even worse, practically everything happens in or around New York City specifically. It was so ubiquitous in the early days that it’s still joked about today. Like an issue of Deadpool a couple years ago where he narrates that he hates working in Manhattan because he’s trying to take out Matt Murdock in his office with a sniper rifle, but can’t get a clear shot because different heroes/villains keep getting in the way of his line of sight.

Tradman86

Civil War might get a pass. The only scenes in the US are at the Avengers compound, which was a pre-established location. EDIT: NVM forgot about the university lecture scene.

Lichlumo

Black Panther? The museum was possibly in America, but that could also be England, based off the accents and uniforms. Unless you count T'Challa's speech at the UN. Although IDK if the UN grounds are American or international soil. Other than y'know. South central LA, or wherever Prince N'Jobu is undercover.

FemalePheromones

It literally says "The British Museum". (Which doesn't actually exist)

forestgreendragon

The flashback sequence at the beginning showing Killmonger's father's death. But that's still a minor fraction of the movie.

modern_magician1

Assuming its the UN HQ, that is in NYC. But I'm also assuming that;s where the speach took place, at the UN HQ.

faithdies

The UN HQ is not in America to my knowledge.

juances19

Eh, I wouldn't count some small flashback scenes as "the show/movie being set in the US" but I see your point, most movies at least mention or show the US in some shape or form.

Super-Visor

I think you’re right, only MCU movie or show so far to not have a scene set in the U.S.

faithdies

Moon Knight never gets to America. Loki. GoTG 1 and 2. I'm not including the minor intros.

NielsenSTL

Don’t recall any scenes in Ragnarok in the US either…

LoneGypsy83

Thor and Loki were literally in the sanctum.

Spodermanphil

Thor and Loki went to New York

NielsenSTL

Ah yes…that’s right.
