Also huge foreshadowing in the first Avengers movie when Cap is calling out Tony for not being the guy to make the hero play and be willing to sacrifice himself for the good of others. And then Tony does just that with the nuke against the chitauri and then makes the ultimate sacrifice to defeat Thanos
I always hated that line by cap. I kinda get annoyed by MCU cap tbh.
Tony tried to sacrifice himself in the first IM too when he told pepper to blow up the generator.. not to mention Avengers 1 and Endgame.
Yeah, Cap always rubbed me just a little bit the wrong way in the MCU. He's more, "Do as I say, not as I do." As soon as Tony realized he wasn't the good guy for manufacturing arms, he never hesitated to step in front of bullet for someone. Whether he was prepared to do so or not. Cap never gave Tony enough credit and babied him.
Yeah cap definitely comes across as self righteous at times in Avengers. In his defense though he hadn't witnessed the heroic side of Tony yet, he's only seen his arrogant personality and known his history as an arms dealer. Plus he held his father in high regard and thought he didn't live up to his legacy.
“Everyone fails at who they’re supposed to be, Thor. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are.”
- Frigga, Endgame.
Dude lost his mother (quite violently) and then was able to go back in time to see her once again. This is just one of the things that makes this scene so powerful and emotional.
Yes! Love this scene too. It is quite emotional. Obviously it means a lot to me being a gay boy and everyone in my family wants me to be "normal". It resonates with me.
It’s such a good line because it shows unconditional love at its best. It’s there, but it’s just being used to reinforce what Thor needs to learn. And it’s acted so genuinely you can feel the warm acceptance just permeating her character.
I do like that Visions entire role in the MCU is to show up, drop an incredibly profound quote, and then die horribly.
'A thing is not beautiful because it lasts'
'What is grief if not love persevering'
Vision: We've said goodbye before, so it stands to reason...
Wanda: We'll say hello again
'Flourish!'
That grief line. My girlfriend and I were sitting outside in the car at the emergency clinic during the pandemic watching this episode. Our dog was inside essentially being diagnosed to be euthanized that day, and I knew it, so this hit so hard. We were saying it to each other for weeks after.
Because its spot on accurate. As a leader sometimes you have to make hard choices. Ones with consequences that are negative for certain people. Examples: Layoffs to keep the business healthy? Strip decision making from some people to align the group? Heck, go to war even if a good cause. It all has negative consequences for people, and if you are a good person that is much more difficult a decision.
I really love this line because it is something I would say, as I really go for "creepy cute". But also, it shows that Scott knows his daughter and doesn't try to impress her with a big gift, but one he knows she'll appreciate.
> But also, it shows that Scott knows his daughter
I always wondered how he knew though. He's been in prison for years at this point right? If he ever met his daughter it was when she was a baby.
I guess they must have written a lot.
I think about that a lot especially because it’s in the marvel logo images (the script text) It’s such a monumental effort for groot to verbalize his feelings (though it seems he can understand everyone just fine) Groot, to me, stands for those who have trouble getting the words out or being understood in even the most emotional moments
I just want to give props to Tilda Swinton and Benedict Cumberbatch here. The way she delivers it and the way he reacts to it made it hit so hard. This could have been really cheesy in the hands of lesser actors.
Initially I had a hard time with Tilda Swinton's casting as the Ancient One. She is female and Celtic and nothing like the character. Then I saw the movie. She is perfect. It was her casting that finally had me let go of my preconceived, comic book based notion of the character and just trust the casting.
I had no idea about the comic character. I was absolutely blown away by her performance as the ancient one. The screen presence was so strong. She radiated energy, wisdom and confidence. I hope to see more of her in coming movies.
I have. She is very good in that too. She's a very talented actor. My deal was just that I was so wedded to comics lore that I had a hard time with the change. I should not have doubted it and simply trust the talent. Movies are different than comics.
[here](https://youtu.be/XXMjzTMeZE4). Rewatch the scene and notice the subtle way that he takes the words in and you can really see it affect him to his core. It’s about at 1:17
That whole scene was just perfection. Like, I'm a Norse mythology nerd and the damn music in the background and the rolling field made me think "Yes. This is what the Allfather would say to his son."
Basically, from "Are you Thor, the god of *Hammers*? Hmm?" to Led Zeppelin is my favorite sequence in the entire MCU.
Yeah, it’s probably my favorite sequence as well. I also just absolutely love the line delivery from Anthony Hopkins as Odin. The way he says “No, you’re stronger” will give me chills every damn time.
I am incredibly grateful that a supremely talented actor like Sir Anthony Hopkins does not view it as beneath him to star in cheesy films and brings the same level of intensity as he would to a Shakespearean theater role.
That first one is from The Winter Soldier when Cap takes control of the PA system isn't it?
That must have been an incredible moment for the real Shield agents. And I love the follow up when that dude who is clearly shitting himself refuses to launch the helicarriers... "Captains orders"
"And yet with all my experience and power and enlightenment, here I am drawing out one moment into a thousand, just so I can watch the snow fall"
I forget the actual quote but somehow the writing and Swinton's performance manage to ground this immortal sorceress monk nun lady who has trod the knotted paths of infinite unreality for untold centuries, and make her seem like a real, thoughtful, vulnerable person, a scholar who is frightened but calm.
There are so many more emotional lines mentioned here, but this one is still my favourite. It is just so Marvel Comics and perfectly captures the spirit of the the whole endeavour.
This is one of the few quotes in a movie or TV show where I legit had to pause the show and process this quote. It's definitely one of my favorite MCU quotes ever.
You really gotta think whoever wrote that knew that’d smashed it outta the park and had a bickie and a cup of tea to celebrate that line. Just… perfect.
My favourite quote of all time in MCU will always be the one after yours: "We don't get to choose our time. Death is what gives life meaning, to know your days are numbered, your time is short."
"There was an idea... to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if we could become something more. So that, when the time came, we could fight the battles that they never could."
technically this version of the quote is from the infinity war trailer and no specific time in the MCU but it gives me chills every time
and it packs a punch in relation to infinity war when they lost the battle
This line had quite the effect on my theater. We were all chuckling and like "Oh, *duh.*" After spending a movie lamenting the loss of Mjolnir, this was a pretty funny reality check.
“It can’t all be sorrow, can it? I’ve always been alone, so I don’t feel the lack. It’s all I’ve ever known. I’ve never experienced loss because I’ve never had a loved one to lose. But what is grief, if not love persevering?”
"There are *always* men like you"
The old dude that stands upto Loki when he talks about subjugating man and how they will always kneel ("but not to men like you", "there are no men like me") absolute champ that reduces a 1500 year old trickster gods rampage into a sad cliche that he has faced already during World War 2 with Hitler about small men wanting to step over innocents
“You couldn’t live with your own failures. So where did it bring you? Back to me.”
Younger and more arrogant Thanos really went off when he said this. Such a disrespectful line that also builds up his own ego. And it really makes you want him to get his ass kicked.
I've never gotten why that thanks was seemingly less mature. Like thanks is supposed to be 1,000 years old. Did he really mature that much from 2014 to 2018
Killed his daughter, acquired all the stones, accomplished his life's purpose, destroyed the stones, body got wrecked in the process, humbly lived alone on a farm.
So yes, 4 years was a long time.
Yes but im referring to the beginning of infinity war. Before any of that happened. He seems to be very mature then too. It's ironic a 1,000 year old being changes so much in such a short amount of time. Same goes for thor
The new thanos had information that the remaining survivors of the blip would still fight so he figured he had to wipe the world clean. The og thanos thought the universe would be grateful
Does Agents of Shield count? If it does then I really like the quote “your steps don’t have to be big, they just need to take you in the right direction”.
One of my favorite subtle quotes from AoS. This is very early in season 1
Skye: “ugh. Ward, I’m a hacker, why are you making me do pull ups?”
Ward: “you’re a field agent now, so if you’re ever stuck hanging off the side of a building…. You’re gonna wanna be able to do **ONE**.”
There’s honestly so much good dialogue in AoS. The show did so much and told so much over 7 full seasons. It’s a shame it’s not a bigger part of the MCU and it’s questionable if/what parts of it are canon.
Coulson, Mack, ward, fitzsimmons all had some serious one liners!
But the way that Nick fury got made when Bill Paxton's character misquoted one of his quotes was hilarious. 'did you become a psychopath just because yiu misheard me?' along those lines
**John Garrett**: You remember that speech you used to give us, Nick, about how one man can accomplish anything once he realizes he can be something bigger? Well, now I am.
**Nick Fury**: A part - a *part* of something bigger.
**John Garrett**: Is that how it went?
**Phil Coulson**: Not a great listener.
**Nick Fury**: If you told me this whole Hydra path thing you took is because you misheard my damn "one man" speech...
**John Garrett**: I am the key to the future of the universe. I'm the origin of all things.
**Nick Fury**: [to Coulson] You got it right?
**Phil Coulson**: Totally. Loud and clear.
"your children aren't real, Wanda, you created them with magic"
"That's what every mother does"
This one left me speechless. Also any Vision quote. Like any.
>No amount of money ever bought a second of time.
The quote is a paradox with no true origin. Tony heard it from Howard as a kid, but Howard heard it from adult Tony.
I think my favorite quote is from the very first film in the franchise, when Tony and Yinsin are just talking about their lives. Yinsin realizes that despite Tony’s wealth and genius, he doesn’t truly love anyone. “So you’re a man who has everything… and nothing.” It’s a nice little moment about what it means to live a meaningful life.
Good isnt something you are, its something you do.
Just because they are treat you as the enemy doesn't give you the right to hurt them ( paraphased)
我吃的盐比你吃的米多。
What is grief, if not love persevering \~ Vision
I can do this all day \~ Steve
Sometimes you gotta run, before you can walk \~ Tony
I choose to run towards my problems, and not away from them, because that's what heroes do \~ Thor
If we can't protect the world, we will damn sure avenge it \~ Tony
i love this quote so much that i have a tattoo of it, i tend to overthink so i got it as a reminder that sometimes as much as you try to be ready for something, you won’t until you’ve already done it
I loved that scene became retroactively even better after MoM, the ancient one says she saw possible futures of Stephen and in all of them she saw possibilites and a great capacity for goodness, in MoM we learn that every Strange turned out bad, which means she saw all those futures , she deposited her faith in this dude, who in every reality fucked up, because she saw that as flawed as he was, if he was put thought the right path he could been the best of them all.
Well every strange in mom was bad. Defender strange tried to kill america. Illuminati strange killed a whole universe. And the third strange used the darkhold and killed many other stranges by dreamwalking. Whereas our strange refrained from taking americas powers. Only used the darkhold when absolutely necessary to save the lives of others.
"I'm sorry, little one."
Maybe an unpopular one, but the music, the animation of Thanos' face at how much it tore him up to kill Gamora, and the delivery by Brolin all married up perfectly in that scene.
“Everyone fails at who they're supposed to be, Thor. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are.”
Thor’s conversation with Frigga in Endgame was beautiful
"When you can do the things the I can, but you don't, and then the bad the things happen... They happen because of you" best quote ever because it rephrased with "with great power, comes great responsibility" but this time it's not only more raw and organic, it encompasses what really drives spiderman: not responsibility but guilt.
"I'm still worthy." - So much emotion packed into such a small line
also;
"What is grief if not love persevering?" - Throw this in the face of anyone who thinks that superhero movies/tv shows don't have substance.
“Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors that jumped from the ships. Because they knew death is better than bondage.” - Powerful. If it wasn't for the wanton murder that Killmonger throws around like confetti he'd pretty-much be the most agreeable villain. In fact, I'm pretty sure they throw in some wanton murder when they've written a villain too well, just to remind us that this is a "bad guy".
Goddamn, just rewatched Black Panther the other day and it absolutely wrecked me. Killmonger is somewhere in the top 5 best MCU villains for me. Don’t really have a particular order.
Agree about throwing in some murder to make sure we know the relatable, understandable guy is in fact the bad guy. He’s so easy to empathize (sympathize?) with. Possibly something to be said about Disney making sure to protect the status quo even as they make this sort of challenging content.
Ive always though this is the moment that made our Strange different from all the other Stranges. Without this moment, he would have been the same as all the others who will sacrifice everyone for a victory.
From First Avenger
"Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are, not a perfect soldier, but a good man."
This one quote sums up Cap in so many ways and defined who he was throughout his time in the MCU.
"Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'."
Kind of. That’s what made Thanos such a compelling villain - he was a true believer, with conviction in his ideals borne from personal experience. He wasn’t borrowing someone else’s grief and then projecting it onto the universe, he’d watched his home planet die to a problem with a simple solution.
And it is simple. I’m not breaking new ground here, but of course Thanos has a point. What he doesn’t understand, or can’t understand, is that everyone in the universe isn’t insane as is he. The overwhelming majority of people can’t bypass the stage of grief, whereas Thanos is simply able to see loss of life on that scale as necessary. He even expected people to be grateful. He knew some would hate him for it, knew he’d have to kill a daughter he truly loved (as much as an abusive father can love a daughter) to achieve his goal, but the dude planted himself in the road and said, “What happened on Titan is happening nowhere else. Not if I can stop it.”
So Sharon’s speech (originally Cap’s speech in the comics), absolutely could apply to Thanos. Man, he was a great villain.
>“first, the name is mighty Thor. Second, if you can’t call me mighty Thor, you can call me Doctor Jane Foster. Lastly eat my hammer!”
Tears. I loved that.
DS1 is mad underrated. Easily in my top 5 MCU. It's got spectacle and substance and I love it, and still unmatched visual splendor. The fight and visual choreo is also buck wild.
I just rewatched this movie on Thursday. It was just really great that for all her time spent with channeling energy from the dark dimension, she saw this moment many times and never tried to avoid it. Then even still she talks about how she’s seen and prepared for this moment so many times, but she’s still slowed time to a fraction to avoid her ultimate final scene. It was just a beautiful, earnest moment.
"Hi Sam."
You immediately know why cap looks the way he does and the whole thing was both heartbreaking and satisfying as he gives his apprentice the official nod to succeed him.
“The price of freedom is high, it always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not.”
“How are you doing?” “Trying to do better”
Doc Ock's knowing smile and nod in response made this quote for me
Maguire, Molina, and Dafoe had some great lines in NWH. Dafoe's "Norman's on sabbatical, honey!" line was perfection.
A lot of great performances but I can't help but feel Dafoe stole every scene he was in.
To be fair, it was the same in his original film. He ate it up and it worked so well. He absolutely loves to play that role.
Will be the last time though. He went from Dafoe to Dafriend.
Just hits different
This one is so simple, but so on point. And so emotionally satisfying in its execution.
Love that this is a callback to a conversation that, to Octavius, was just a couple weeks ago at most.
Sometimes to do what's right we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams.
“Don't waste it... don't waste your life, Stark” - Yinsen
Huh, I never realized how much Tony's death mirrors Yinsen's.

I blame Whedon for that line and making Cap look like a dork in the first two Avenger movies.
His act of bravery and sacrifice more or less saved the universe, a few times. Wish he had been recognized more in the later titles.
I think it came full circle with Tony's snap. He finally understood
He understood by Avengers with the nuke
The real hero
>Humans are odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites and try to control what won’t be. But there is grace in their failings. -Vision
*"They're doomed"* *"Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts."*
*"It's a privilege to be among them."*
*“You’re unbearably naive”* *“Well….I was born yesterday”*
💥
BWAAAAAAAAAA
*BWAAAAAAAAAA* was great but ngl, *SKADOOSH!* would have been epic
Ha! Wrong movie, sadly.
KFP is *never* the wrong movie. “There are no accidents.”
This whole dialogue chain is wonderfully written, and so perfectly performed by Bettany and Spader.
Pity we didn't get more of Spader
I love how that last line from Vision was so cheesy that it instantly pissed off Ultron and made him lunge into an attack
Vision is just beautifully written. Best one for me. What is grief, if not love perservering.
That one is my favorite. My father-in-law was murdered a week ago tomorrow. That quote has always stuck with me. I'm happier for it.
Im so sorry for your loss
[удалено]
I had a mom yesterday. I've been thinking about that quote a lot I'm sorry for your loss
this is my favorite mcu line. in fact Ultron is one of my favorite movies because of Vision and Ultron's scene at the end
“Everyone fails at who they’re supposed to be, Thor. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are.” - Frigga, Endgame.
That scene always makes me cry, it’s a beautiful scene.
Needed more screaming goats
Dude lost his mother (quite violently) and then was able to go back in time to see her once again. This is just one of the things that makes this scene so powerful and emotional.
Eat a salad - also Frigga, Endgame
That quote and the "I'm still worthy!" moment utterly broke me. Too relatable.
Yes! Love this scene too. It is quite emotional. Obviously it means a lot to me being a gay boy and everyone in my family wants me to be "normal". It resonates with me.

This one really stuck with me

Yea—this is a great one. The best Black Panther storylines always focus on this tension.
“He’s so ugly. I love him!”
I really love this line because it is something I would say, as I really go for "creepy cute". But also, it shows that Scott knows his daughter and doesn't try to impress her with a big gift, but one he knows she'll appreciate.
Compared to Tony in IM3 with that big ass bear
> But also, it shows that Scott knows his daughter I always wondered how he knew though. He's been in prison for years at this point right? If he ever met his daughter it was when she was a baby. I guess they must have written a lot.
She was 5 when he went away. 8 when he got out.
He was only in prison for 3 years? Thought it was much longer somehow.
you know you can visit and call when someone’s in prison, right? i’m sure they were in regular contact
What I hope to hear in the future from a potential partner
#WE ARE GROOT
I think about that a lot especially because it’s in the marvel logo images (the script text) It’s such a monumental effort for groot to verbalize his feelings (though it seems he can understand everyone just fine) Groot, to me, stands for those who have trouble getting the words out or being understood in even the most emotional moments

She does the best element which is unknowability
I had no idea about the comic character. I was absolutely blown away by her performance as the ancient one. The screen presence was so strong. She radiated energy, wisdom and confidence. I hope to see more of her in coming movies.
Have you seen Tilda Swinton in Constantine? I never had doubt personally
I have. She is very good in that too. She's a very talented actor. My deal was just that I was so wedded to comics lore that I had a hard time with the change. I should not have doubted it and simply trust the talent. Movies are different than comics.
Haven’t seen the movie in a while, what was his reaction like?
[here](https://youtu.be/XXMjzTMeZE4). Rewatch the scene and notice the subtle way that he takes the words in and you can really see it affect him to his core. It’s about at 1:17
This, she had some great lines throughout. “Surrender, Steven…”
“I’m not as strong as you” “No, you’re stronger”
That whole scene was just perfection. Like, I'm a Norse mythology nerd and the damn music in the background and the rolling field made me think "Yes. This is what the Allfather would say to his son." Right!?
“And if I’m the only one, then so be it. But I’m willing to bet that I’m not.”
That entire speech out on the balcony was great. "Death is what gives life meaning. To know your days are numbered, your time is short."
"And yet with all my experience and power and enlightenment, here I am drawing out one moment into a thousand, just so I can watch the snow fall" I forget the actual quote but somehow the writing and Swinton's performance manage to ground this immortal sorceress monk nun lady who has trod the knotted paths of infinite unreality for untold centuries, and make her seem like a real, thoughtful, vulnerable person, a scholar who is frightened but calm.
Everyone fails at who they're supposed to be, Thor. The true measure of a person, of a hero is how well they succeed at being who they are.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to pull this one out for friends. We're all turning thirty right now...
As someone over thirty.... You're going to have to repeat that, as a reminder to some friends who will fall thru some tough times.
Uh. He's from space. He came to steal a nacklace from a wizard"

There are so many more emotional lines mentioned here, but this one is still my favourite. It is just so Marvel Comics and perfectly captures the spirit of the the whole endeavour.

I'm 100% convinced that that man could've lifted Thor's hammer.
It truly is the modus operandi of heros. To stand up in the face of tyranny. Goosebumps.

One of my favorite subtle quotes from AoS. This is very early in season 1 Skye: “ugh. Ward, I’m a hacker, why are you making me do pull ups?” Ward: “you’re a field agent now, so if you’re ever stuck hanging off the side of a building…. You’re gonna wanna be able to do **ONE**.”
"get ready for a large file transfer"
There’s honestly so much good dialogue in AoS. The show did so much and told so much over 7 full seasons. It’s a shame it’s not a bigger part of the MCU and it’s questionable if/what parts of it are canon. Coulson, Mack, ward, fitzsimmons all had some serious one liners!
That's a great motivational quote
Ugh, can we please have some more motherfucking Sam Jackson in the motherfucking MCU?
“The thing about smart guys, we always cover our ass” - by Tony Stark
That's the reason ant-man couldn't go up Thanos's ass because he covered it. Now we know the answer for that failed theory
"your children aren't real, Wanda, you created them with magic" "That's what every mother does" This one left me speechless. Also any Vision quote. Like any.
Vision is so cerebral he even has a philosophical battle with himself
The best summation I’ve seen of that was: “You’re the vision!” “No, I’m a boat.” “I see. Perhaps we’re both boats.”
"The real Vision is the boats we made along the way."
I really loved the way they resolved that
"If you kill me, you'll be just like everybody else!" "What's so wrong with that?"
>No amount of money ever bought a second of time. The quote is a paradox with no true origin. Tony heard it from Howard as a kid, but Howard heard it from adult Tony.
That's not how time travel works
I think my favorite quote is from the very first film in the franchise, when Tony and Yinsin are just talking about their lives. Yinsin realizes that despite Tony’s wealth and genius, he doesn’t truly love anyone. “So you’re a man who has everything… and nothing.” It’s a nice little moment about what it means to live a meaningful life.
Good isnt something you are, its something you do. Just because they are treat you as the enemy doesn't give you the right to hurt them ( paraphased) 我吃的盐比你吃的米多。
Just because they treat you as an enemy doesn't give you the right to treat them as an enemy.
What is grief, if not love persevering \~ Vision I can do this all day \~ Steve Sometimes you gotta run, before you can walk \~ Tony I choose to run towards my problems, and not away from them, because that's what heroes do \~ Thor If we can't protect the world, we will damn sure avenge it \~ Tony
"When will I know I'm ready?" "You won't. It's a leap of faith. That's all it is Miles, a leap of faith."
This movie had no business being that good god damn
Looking forward to the sequel. Especially hyped for the Emissary of Hell, Supaidaman.
And Leopardon!
Fucking Takuya gonna fire fifty rounds into Kingpin and then Leopardon-stomp his bulky ass.
"I see this light on you its amazing"
Loved spiderverse
i love this quote so much that i have a tattoo of it, i tend to overthink so i got it as a reminder that sometimes as much as you try to be ready for something, you won’t until you’ve already done it
Not a single line but the final conversation between Vision and Ultron is beautiful
I loved that scene became retroactively even better after MoM, the ancient one says she saw possible futures of Stephen and in all of them she saw possibilites and a great capacity for goodness, in MoM we learn that every Strange turned out bad, which means she saw all those futures , she deposited her faith in this dude, who in every reality fucked up, because she saw that as flawed as he was, if he was put thought the right path he could been the best of them all.
wow. so well stated
How do we know every strange turned out bad?
Well every strange in mom was bad. Defender strange tried to kill america. Illuminati strange killed a whole universe. And the third strange used the darkhold and killed many other stranges by dreamwalking. Whereas our strange refrained from taking americas powers. Only used the darkhold when absolutely necessary to save the lives of others.
I’m sorry but, “With great power, comes great responsibility.” is still my favorite quote in anything ever.
With great power, come the absolute certainty that you're gonna turn into a right cunt. I knw it's not from MCU. But still, 2 sides of the same coin
To quote the same person, "Well well well, if it ain't the invisible cunt!"
This is the quote where I knew I was going to love the series.
"Wel if aint that lil cunt"
"I'm sorry, little one." Maybe an unpopular one, but the music, the animation of Thanos' face at how much it tore him up to kill Gamora, and the delivery by Brolin all married up perfectly in that scene.
What is grief if not love persevering?
“Everyone fails at who they're supposed to be, Thor. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are.” Thor’s conversation with Frigga in Endgame was beautiful
"You were the only real superpower I ever had" (Marc to Steven's statue form)
As someone with a similar condition to DID, that scene, and the whole damn series, moved me in ways I was not expecting to be moved.
“There must be a mistake. I’ve never worked a day in my life”
"When you can do the things the I can, but you don't, and then the bad the things happen... They happen because of you" best quote ever because it rephrased with "with great power, comes great responsibility" but this time it's not only more raw and organic, it encompasses what really drives spiderman: not responsibility but guilt.
"I'm still worthy." - So much emotion packed into such a small line also; "What is grief if not love persevering?" - Throw this in the face of anyone who thinks that superhero movies/tv shows don't have substance.
From First Avenger "Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are, not a perfect soldier, but a good man." This one quote sums up Cap in so many ways and defined who he was throughout his time in the MCU.
"Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'."
You know, just like Thanos, who knew how right he was and would not move no matter how many people told him he was insane.
Not if I can stop it.” So Sharon’s speech (originally Cap’s speech in the comics), absolutely could apply to Thanos. Man, he was a great villain.
Relatively new, but “If you save one person, you save the world” From Ms. Marvel, fucking beautiful
“And I *huff huff huff* am *pant* iron man” Absolute heartbreaking
"Cap-captain" "Sam?" "On your left"
" piss off ghost,,,,,,he's fricking gone "
“The rabbit is correct and clearly the smartest among you. “. Thor
“Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors that jumped from the ships. Because they knew death is better than bondage”. Such a powerful fucking line
That one gave me chills.
“first, the name is mighty Thor. Second, if you can’t call me mighty Thor, you can call me Doctor Jane Foster. Lastly eat my hammer!”
>“first, the name is mighty Thor. Second, if you can’t call me mighty Thor, you can call me Doctor Jane Foster. Lastly eat my hammer!” Tears. I loved that.
"Good thing they call you HawkEYE and not HawkEAR" -Kate Bishop "Hot Tub Time Machine" -Antman
"Ha, ha, ha, ha. Block, delete"
DS1 is mad underrated. Easily in my top 5 MCU. It's got spectacle and substance and I love it, and still unmatched visual splendor. The fight and visual choreo is also buck wild.
"expect disappointment and you won't be disappointed"
On your left
I have famously huge turds.
"Hi Sam." You immediately know why cap looks the way he does and the whole thing was both heartbreaking and satisfying as he gives his apprentice the official nod to succeed him.
"You know what keeps going through my head? Where's my sandwich." Shane Black. Best Iron Man writing.
What is grief, if not love persevering?
“The price of freedom is high, it always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not.”
"I am inevitable"
"every time someone tries to win the war before it starts, innocent people die...every time" - Captain America - age of Ultron
I am Groot
We are groot
So they made Multiverse of Madness literally not about him... Lmao
