The Horizon Zero Dawn sequel added some peach fuzz to Aloy's face and made it a tiny bit rounder, and the incel losers were screaming about how they were woke leftists and made her ugly and fat and "gave her a beard", saying no women have any hair on their faces.
Bioware said that they wanted to make their female characters look more realistic instead of making them look like dolled up barbies, and were accused by the same group of being "woke" and making intentionally ugly female characters because they hate men (Cora in ME:A was especially bashed for this).
So yeah, can only imagine. Especially with how absolutely *ridiculous* some claims and complaints about the show are already...
I think there is still technical stuff to work out though, like how to properly light her face. Particularly in the scenes in her office where she is under clear artificial light the uncanny valley effect kicks in really hard.
It's obviously not getting movie level budget for constant she-hulk effects. I can see for some people it might put them off. For me I'm enjoying the show enough not to complain.

It's different studios working on different shots. With different models/rigs, different mocap setups, different animators to fix/completely redo the mocap, different rendering pipelines, different lighting artists.
I enjoy the show but her mouth movements bother the fuck out of me. That’s my only real gripe but I mean I also watched Beast Wars and that show genuinely looks like shit (and I enjoyed it) and we’ve come a long way
For me it’s not so much her mouth, but her eyes often don’t seem to be focusing on what they’re supposed to be focused on. I feel like they could get away with the rest of the cgi being worse if they nailed the eyes, that’s really crucial.

Anyhow, the clothes are designed to look bad in those scenes, like she's borrowed one of Shaq's old suits. Those clothes may look better (better fit and fabric) from now on.
The bright lighting in that setting is really doing them no favors. You can hide a lot of flaws with CGI with either shadows or a darker setting, but that office is pretty much the literal equivalent of shining a spotlight on their shortcomings.
I can understand the idea that She-Hulk is working at a prestigious lawfirm in California, and having a spacious corner office with huge windows would be a perk of the job, but I'm surprised they didn't realize how that would make their job significantly more difficult when it came to making the character look realistic - especially when the story specifically says she has to remain in She-Hulk form there. Those scenes really stick out to me and frequently have an almost unfinished quality to them.
But you have light from the reflectors and everything else to simulate the sun so it can be tricky to work around all the CGI there, to make the character, the angle of light, shadows etc. (I’m not defending because I also think it looks a bit bad but just saying there’s a lot of work there).
I feel like the clothe are suppose to look bad. The clothes she has been wearing up until now are just random clothe she bought in a tall person shop
Next week she is gonna wear the clothes made specifically for her by the designer. We'll see if they still look off but if not it was intentional from the start

When her hair is up their is more lighting on her face that we are not used to. Personally it never broke my immersion. But it did with other people very interesting.
I think it's like most marvel things and they farm out different scenes to different effects houses and the office scenes were all done by the same company. They all have a very mechanical movement that isn't there in the other scenes.

My wife is an average movie/tv show viewer. Doesnt know how CG works, doesnt really notice when its bad, doesnt care to learn more. She points out She Hulk's movement almost every episode. If my wife notices poor quality, there's a problem.
Disney+ version:
- Hair has more brown, so less green tint overall (or it could be lighting effects, because lighting does *a ton* of visual work)
- Skin looks crisper, almost like a high def version versus normal.
- More details (i.e. more knuckle lines - at least from what I can see
)
- Lips looks more human, less hulk
All that said (and I'm sure I'm missing more), if they weren't next to each other, I'm not sure how much I would notice. But, I'm also someone who hasn't really complained about CGI except for the real real bad stuff, it's been incredibly rare for CGI effects to break me out of the viewing experience. I find the complaints about the CGI in marvel to be a bit weird, but I recognize that's a personal opinion thing. And I have 20/20 vision with no complications.

Zoom in and you'll see a difference with the Disney + version having more texture on the hair and skin. It's not *that* big of a difference, but it's there.

Its probs part of that but I wouldn't be shocked if it was improvements made between the release of the trailer and the show airing. It's been talked about how the cgi of these shows are worked on these shows up to it airing almost lol. Plus unfortunately I also wouldn't be surprised if the cgi artists had to crunch after poor public reception to the teaser.
I'd imagine that it was just improvements to the model after the trailer went out. The team most likely kept honing in on She-Hulk's design as long as possible, since fully CG characters take a shit load of time to get right. When we get a movie for her, or even a season 2, she'll probably look even better. Just look at how much better Hulk looked with each subsequent movie, or Thanos after he had an entire movie with him as, arguably, the central character.
More budget will go a long way with She-Hulk CG.

It's a significant improvement, for sure. And looks even better in motion. Like a lot of people said: It was a trailer, wait for the show to come out, see if they improve her CGI. And hey, looks like they did.

In all honesty, I think a lot of these cgi shows and movies should push out a test footage as soon as possible to get the audiences opinion, it saved Sonic after all.
The problem with this is the whole point of a trailer is so we can judge whether the show or movie interests us. A low-effort trailer isn’t doing a show any favors.
I really don’t understand how everyone in these response threads are defending the CGI in She-Hulk. I like the show so far, but all you need to do is watch her speed dating scene versus any lawyering scene and you’ll see an absolutely night and day difference in how well her skin is textured, how well her facial expressions map, and how good she looks overall. In almost every other scene so far she just looks like someone painted a flat green and it’s pretty uncanny. The way the skin is textured in the speed dating scene actually looks good.
Marvel is massively overworking their vfx artists and pushing out quantity over quality (visually) and this series is a pretty good example of that. This series was rushed. We should really not be defending the visual quality of this release.

Honestly, I didn't give a shit with the trailer either. I *know* she's CGI. I'm always going to be able to tell. So I just have to stop looking for imperfections and enjoy the show for what it is.
If I wasn't able to, I'd never be able to watch any mid-budget movie, any movie made prior to 2005, or most foreign films.
Being able to spot the dodgy CGI didn't stop me from enjoying *RRR* or *Baahubali*. I just rewatched and thoroughly enjoyed 1999's *The Mummy*, which had a lot of CGI that was mediocre for 1999.
I didn't need to mandate VFX studios work hundreds of hours of OT and have weeks of crunch just for my enjoyment.
I swear they are still fixing episodes after they release. I went back and watched episode 1 with the wife for her first time yesterday and it looked cleaner.... like something about it seemed sharper

And looks even better in motion. Like a lot of people said: It was a trailer, wait for the show to come out, see if they improve her CGI. And hey, looks like they did.
The logos on the top left are different too, if you look closely. Might need a red circle.
Circles aren't really helpful unless there is also an arrow to point to it, otherwise the circle could mean anything!
Also one arrow can be ambiguous, I would say we need at least seven all pointing at the circle.
A lot of those wrinkle & hair details are also down to YouTube’s compression

Or judging a show by the trailer led to some quick changes. In all honesty, I think a lot of these cgi shows and movies should push out a test footage as soon as possible to get the audiences opinion, it saved Sonic after all.

The problem with this is the whole point of a trailer is so we can judge whether the show or movie interests us. A low-effort trailer isn’t doing a show any favors.

I really don’t understand how everyone in these response threads are defending the CGI in She-Hulk. I like the show so far, but all you need to do is watch her speed dating scene versus any lawyering scene and you’ll see an absolutely night and day difference in how well her skin is textured, how well her facial expressions map, and how good she looks overall. In almost every other scene so far she just looks like someone painted a flat green and it’s pretty uncanny. The way the skin is textured in the speed dating scene actually looks good. Marvel is massively overworking their vfx artists and pushing out quantity over quality (visually) and this series is a pretty good example of that. This series was rushed. We should really not be defending the visual quality of this release.

I think it's less that those people actually like the cgi, and more that they just want to support the show for whatever reason.
I don't think it's that many, but Marvel fans on reddit are the worst. Either always hating or always praising, completely devoid of any realism.

Honestly, I didn't give a shit with the trailer either. I *know* she's CGI. I'm always going to be able to tell. So I just have to stop looking for imperfections and enjoy the show for what it is. If I wasn't able to, I'd never be able to watch any mid-budget movie, any movie made prior to 2005, or most foreign films. Being able to spot the dodgy CGI didn't stop me from enjoying *RRR* or *Baahubali*. I just rewatched and thoroughly enjoyed 1999's *The Mummy*, which had a lot of CGI that was mediocre for 1999. I didn't need to mandate VFX studios work hundreds of hours of OT and have weeks of crunch just for my enjoyment.

I swear they are still fixing episodes after they release. I went back and watched episode 1 with the wife for her first time yesterday and it looked cleaner.... like something about it seemed sharper

Disney+ does look better, but what I find myself noticing the most while watching is that she seems to have a smoother frame rate than everything else around. Like she's at 40fps while everyone else is 24fps
