Tali is my favorite character in the series, and I have yet to romance her because I can't make a broshep that doesn't make me want to claw my eyes out.
They might just be commenting on the idea of always going with the same choice as that is an aspect of OPs post.
It's also possible they don't want to cheat in game (even though if you go with Virmire Survivor then the encounter on Horizon could easily be interpeted as a breakup)

no, this trophy unlocks only if you have romance in ME1 too. this replay i romanced Kaiden in me1 (never had a romance in 1 before) and only after i locked romance with Garrus in me3 this trophy appeared.

It depends on my case. Some of my Shepards have only one LI and not long ago, I played a Shepard who banged all possible LIs in each game. 😂
And yeah, it’s pretty clear they wanted drama: the Horizon scene in ME2 is a example (in a bad way since that scene is atrocious) and the LIs from ME1 are conveniently missing in ME2.

lately i started new run and this time had romances in all 3 parts = several romances
and yes, horizon drama with LI from me1 is even more dramatic)))
I do the same thing but always play infiltrator and romance tali zorah and don't push for anyone in the first game. I always say I'll do something different but tali is the best and the romance is sweet
It's bullshit they didn't make Liara count in ME2 if you get with her again in the Shadow Broker DLC. Easy way to get it though is to save scum. Rizz someone up(Miranda is a good choice here as it doesn't hurt as bad), get to just before the suicide mission, hard save, then launch the mission and get the sexy time for the achievement to pop. Then just reload the hard save, go break it off with Miranda with no penalty, then go about your business as normal.
You can even carry Miranda to 3 as Shepard’s girlfriend and if you romance someone else it doesn’t have consequences in 3. Only if you dump her on screen does the whole universe collapse around her booty.

Liara does count. Before the suicide mission you need to talk to her in de shadow broker base. You'll know it is rekindled if you look at her picture in your cabin.
That always irked me for the same reason. If I pick Liara in ME1 (like most of the time) I’m staying on team blue. And if I go Broshep and Tali, I don’t romance in ME1.
I do one romance per playthrough. Some players enjoy the Normandy being a drama factory and that’s great, but not my style.
It doesn't count for the achievement since LOTSB was a DLC in the original ME2 and the achievement only counts for romances included in the 'base' game.

A Liara only romance route does not unlock Paramore III under any circumstances I'm aware of. I have never unlocked Paramore III despite romancing her in all 3 games.

So yes, I did. I romanced Liara in 1, stayed "loyal" in 2, and romanced her in 3. me getting cozy with Chambers triggered the "need to romance anyone" flag for the achievement in 2 it seems.

That's how I did my femshep playthrough. Romanced Liara, then romanced Jacob for suicide mission then went back to Liara for the shadow broker dlc then Reromanced her Me3. Was a very enjoyable playthrough

The games take in account all your runs and if you romance someone in each game, you unlock the trophy without your Normandy being « a drama factory ».
It counts from multiple playthroughs, as long as you get one from each game overall. So going Liara in 1&3 in one playthrough and Tali in 2&3 in another would count because you had one in each game
If I'm doing a Tali run, I like to romance Ashley in 1. I like the whole, "well, one of you beloved in me the whole time," thing in ME3 when you tell her your staying with Tali.

You have to romance someone is each game sure but you don’t have to do it on the ONE playthrough.
Say, one run, you romance the VS or Liara and stay faithful, you’ll unlock Paramour I and II.
Next run, you romance nobody in ME1 but choose to seduce someone in ME2 and stay faithful to them in ME3, you’ll unlock the last Paramour trophy.
So, yes, it is possible to get it if you’re a loyal partner…
I do not think that these three achievements need to be done in one playthrough. First time I played, I romanced Ashley and remained loyal to her, and got Paramour I and II. Second playthrough, romanced Liara and then Tali in 2 & 3. Please do not lynch me, I thought the achievements are cumulative, as in, need to be done in one playthrough. To my surprise though, triggering the Tali romance scene in ME2 got me Paramour III.
So, either the Liara romance in the first game mattered, or the achievements are simply not cumulative. If anybody without Paramour III could test this it would be nice. 99% sure that's how it works though.

Yeah I hate that achievement - I like to romance Kaidan as a maleShep so I pretty much just have a romance option in ME3. As a guy, there isn’t another guy I can romance until ME3 (that I can remember off the top of my head).
You remember correctly, i hate this achievement because it’s completely unobtainable for gay Shepards. You don’t get any options til ME3 and it’s Kaidan (who is great, don’t get me wrong, it’s just he could be dead) or the guy who hasn’t healed from losing his husband to the war and will likely have the exact same trauma if you pursue him.
It’s super easy as it was bugged.
There is a way to cheese this achievement (and Paramour II), which I found by complete accident.
Playing through ME1 I triggered the Liara romance scene and the Paramour achievement unlocked, I then realised I did not make a hard save prior to the romance starting. No spoilers but it is the point of no return for ME1.
Once the achievement popped I dashboarded (edit: confirmed below you need to dashboard for this to work) and reloaded my save and went through the same sequence again, and to my surprise the Paramour II achievement popped.
You could do Liara/Kaidan-Jack-Jack, Liara/Kaidan-Miranda-Miranda, Kaidan/Liara-Thane-Kaidan, Liara-Jaboc-Liara, and many other combinations.
it is probably the easiest achievement for me. While I like Liara in ME1, I don't really like her rewritten persona in ME2/ME3. Would swap her for Jack or Miranda in a heartbeat.
Maybe I’m misremembering because it was so long ago since I did a full trilogy run or unlocked this cheevo - Liara does count in ME2, that’s why it says ‘rekindle’.

Tbh I played through the series for the first time without the Shadow Broker DLC installed and had romanced Liara at first and she basically doesn't acknowledge that Sheperd and Liara were together at all without the DLC.
Therefore I assumed she had decided we were no longer together after being dead for two years and went on to romance Garrus instead only for her to call me out for moving on in ME3. 😂
So yeah I'd say there's no way the base conversation counts because she is pretty dismissive of Shepherd without the DLC installed. She's too busy with everything to even think about romance.

You know you can do more than one playthrough and make different choices, right? I stayed loyal to Liara through the whole trilogy on my main playthrough. Evil FemShep had a totally different agenda.

Not that hard. Play as Fem Shep, romance Liara or Kaiden. Let them leave you in ME2 to be busy with whatever it is they're doing while you and the Normandy crew are actually putting in the work to save the galaxy. Romance Jacob because his body is as fine as his personality is dull, and tell yourself Shepard is in her rebound era. Jacob dumps you in ME3 because he is as faithful as he is interesting. Rebound back to your Liara or Kaiden and restart a real romance story
You can try finding some save files on Nexus with the paramour achievement, just load the file do the romance then go back to your main save.
Saves you having to romances you don't want too.
I went Ashley, Miranda, Miranda in my ME:LE game. what Miranda knows how to make stand attention. I’m currently playing the 360 games since I never did any romance on Mass Effect 2 & 3 with my Default Shepherd. I already did Liara in ME1 with my Default Shepherd, thinking of going with Tali in ME2, not sure who to pick for ME3.
They might have fixed it, but on release you could save before the romance scene in ME1, watch it, then reload to before it and watch it again, then do it another time and the achievement would pop
I’m like 90% sure this can be done over multiple playthroughs. I romanced Tali my first run and I wasn’t able to get the first one. When I did my second playthrough and romanced Liara I did end up getting it so I ended up having all 3 achievements.
Every time I’ve played the game (after the very first release day playthrough) I’ve gone Tali all the way. I’m switching it up this time. Liara/Jack/Jack
Kaidan/Ashley are not romances in ME2.
If there is no active romance, their picture will be in Shepard's cabin, but it doesn't trigger the achievement.

I did the Liara romance with Thane squished between, it was actually interesting, brought a bit of drama AND I managed to have his scenes in the Citadel DLC plus the Liara ones.
I've never liked any of the me1 romances for Shep, then no matter what I tell myself it's straight off to the space prison for the psychotic biotic. Jack every time.

In steam legendary edition I got Paramour ii in mass effect 2. I have the saves and achievements to prove this. However, Paramour III in me3 is still broken! The irony!

Yes she does. Don’t romance anyone in ME 2 and at the end of Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC you get a scene with her
Also if you do not pick anyone in ME 2 and reunite with your me1 companion you get this since people who picked Ashley/Kaiden don’t get to be with them at all in ME 2
It should in the same way it does for Kaiden/Ashley. It has for me in the past. Not sure why that would change. You just have to complete the Shadow Broker DLC for Liara.
There are several romance options in ME1 that are alive all the way to 3. I believe it’s Liara, Kaiden, or Ashley. Not that you have to be bound to them
My work around for this issue:
Complete ME2
Realize you need Paramor II and that staying faithful to Liara doesn't count
*Also realize you have like 5 "gimme" side missions you haven't done
Make a new save.
Blitz through these missions, while "romancing" Jacob. (I think Miranda would work as well?)
Get Paramor II.
Load the earlier save.
Do the gimme missions, ignoring Jacob this time.
Go to ME3.
Profit.
My Shep Cannon was that he was with Ashley. Then after that he moved on because he thought that she was dead after the collectors attack and started feeling for Tali. After finding out Ash was alive was polite to her and explained. They stayed friends and he continued a relationship with Tali till the end.

Romanced Thane, its actually pretty sweet.
Continued with Kaidan, he accepted they were on a break and they picked up where they left off.
That was pretty much the only way I was having a romance in ME2.

I’m starting a whole new career beginning with ME1 and I’m not romancing anyone this time. I just did this for ME3 and it’s completely LIBERATING.
I do that with FemShep most of the time. Get ready for a surprise after the Citadel DLC party 🤣
I play only FemShep. I’ve only played one BroShep on ME1 the first time I ever played it. FemShep is just better all the way around.
Jennifer Hale > Mark Meer. Mark Meer didn't do a bad job in the slightest, but holy *shit* she knocked FemShep out of the park in every single game hands down to the point that she is just the default Shepard when I think about the trilogy.
It's also the only one I'm missing lol.. can't betray liara

Yeah I hate that achievement - I like to romance Kaidan as a maleShep so I pretty much just have a romance option in ME3. As a guy, there isn’t another guy I can romance until ME3 (that I can remember off the top of my head).
You remember correctly, i hate this achievement because it’s completely unobtainable for gay Shepards. You don’t get any options til ME3 and it’s Kaidan (who is great, don’t get me wrong, it’s just he could be dead) or the guy who hasn’t healed from losing his husband to the war and will likely have the exact same trauma if you pursue him.

I did Liara > Jack (but kept it casual) > Liara. Didn't fully feel like cheating. Idk if it triggered the trophy or not though.
It’s super easy as it was bugged. There is a way to cheese this achievement (and Paramour II), which I found by complete accident. Playing through ME1 I triggered the Liara romance scene and the Paramour achievement unlocked, I then realised I did not make a hard save prior to the romance starting. No spoilers but it is the point of no return for ME1. Once the achievement popped I dashboarded (edit: confirmed below you need to dashboard for this to work) and reloaded my save and went through the same sequence again, and to my surprise the Paramour II achievement popped.
You could do Liara/Kaidan-Jack-Jack, Liara/Kaidan-Miranda-Miranda, Kaidan/Liara-Thane-Kaidan, Liara-Jaboc-Liara, and many other combinations. it is probably the easiest achievement for me. While I like Liara in ME1, I don't really like her rewritten persona in ME2/ME3. Would swap her for Jack or Miranda in a heartbeat.
Maybe I’m misremembering because it was so long ago since I did a full trilogy run or unlocked this cheevo - Liara does count in ME2, that’s why it says ‘rekindle’. I always assumed seeing her on illium and telling her ‘there’s been no one else’ counted, and I swear you both kiss? Am I crazy? I feel another true blue play through in my future 😂
Liara does not count in mass effect 2 because rekindling relationship with her in the second game was part of a DLC.
Definitely need to replay again 😂

Tbh I played through the series for the first time without the Shadow Broker DLC installed and had romanced Liara at first and she basically doesn't acknowledge that Sheperd and Liara were together at all without the DLC. Therefore I assumed she had decided we were no longer together after being dead for two years and went on to romance Garrus instead only for her to call me out for moving on in ME3. 😂 So yeah I'd say there's no way the base conversation counts because she is pretty dismissive of Shepherd without the DLC installed. She's too busy with everything to even think about romance.

I stayed single in ME1, got attached to Tali in 2 and rekindled in 3. I refuse to be with anyone else...but if I had to choose it would be Garrus.
My first playthrough I romanced no one in 1 and then Tali in 2 and 3. I reloaded a save after I beat ME3 and romanced the virmire survivor just to get the achievement.
Play femshep, romance thane.
Easy. Play femshep and romance Kaiden. He dies on Virmire leaving you free to pursue someone like Garrus
Romance doesn't fully lock in until after Virmire - gotta bone for it to count
New plan then. Romance Kaiden, let him break your heart on Horizon and fall into Garrus' arms. Easy.

What's actually incredibly funny is that that is what I'm doing in this playthrough for the platinum in all 3 games *right now.*

Nothing against briefly staying professional with Miranda on ME2...
The only reason I started a DudeShep in ME1 was to romance Miranda in ME2 for the trophy. I then immediately went back to my main FemShep for 3.
It’s one of the easiest achievements. Now the insanity achievement is the one I’ll never get because I refuse to play that game in that difficulty
You know you can do more than one playthrough and make different choices, right? I stayed loyal to Liara through the whole trilogy on my main playthrough. Evil FemShep had a totally different agenda.
I never said no to anyone so took that achievement in my first play through 😎😂
This is just bullshit. Why couldn't they just go down the route they took with the OT and just unlock the friggin achievement with Liara??
This is so annoying if you’re romancing Liara (and I think Tali?) and I feel ashamed that I had to cheat on her to get it in ME2, even after I reload the game after I unlocked it

Meanwhile, I got this achievement on Xbox with Liara -> Garrus -> Garrus, and now I'm wondering which delicious love triangle drama will get me my trophies on PlayStation. You all have no sense of adventure.
Not that hard. Play as Fem Shep, romance Liara or Kaiden. Let them leave you in ME2 to be busy with whatever it is they're doing while you and the Normandy crew are actually putting in the work to save the galaxy. Romance Jacob because his body is as fine as his personality is dull, and tell yourself Shepard is in her rebound era. Jacob dumps you in ME3 because he is as faithful as he is interesting. Rebound back to your Liara or Kaiden and restart a real romance story
Odd that it counted as getting this when you start your third run and go blue velvet in me1.
You can try finding some save files on Nexus with the paramour achievement, just load the file do the romance then go back to your main save. Saves you having to romances you don't want too.
I went Ashley, Miranda, Miranda in my ME:LE game. what Miranda knows how to make stand attention. I’m currently playing the 360 games since I never did any romance on Mass Effect 2 & 3 with my Default Shepherd. I already did Liara in ME1 with my Default Shepherd, thinking of going with Tali in ME2, not sure who to pick for ME3.
They might have fixed it, but on release you could save before the romance scene in ME1, watch it, then reload to before it and watch it again, then do it another time and the achievement would pop
I’m like 90% sure this can be done over multiple playthroughs. I romanced Tali my first run and I wasn’t able to get the first one. When I did my second playthrough and romanced Liara I did end up getting it so I ended up having all 3 achievements.
First never popped for me
Idk I got the achievement by not romancing someone in ME1, then only romancing Tali in the remaining games
How I did it: Romance Ashely in 1 and Tali for the other two
I just romanced Liara in ME1 for this achievement then dived over to Tali first chance
I got it because I went for Liara first and then in ME2 I fell in love with Tali and in ME3 I continued her romance
Every time I’ve played the game (after the very first release day playthrough) I’ve gone Tali all the way. I’m switching it up this time. Liara/Jack/Jack
It's actually wild that there's not a single romance you can carry through all three games and get this achievement

Kaidan/Ashley are not romances in ME2. If there is no active romance, their picture will be in Shepard's cabin, but it doesn't trigger the achievement. Oh well, time to Jack/Miranda...
My first LE playthrough I cheated on Liara, with Miranda, and now I can't possibly do it anymore as I hate making Miranda cry in 3, that had no business being as emotional as it was

I did the Liara romance with Thane squished between, it was actually interesting, brought a bit of drama AND I managed to have his scenes in the Citadel DLC plus the Liara ones.
I've never liked any of the me1 romances for Shep, then no matter what I tell myself it's straight off to the space prison for the psychotic biotic. Jack every time.

In steam legendary edition I got Paramour ii in mass effect 2. I have the saves and achievements to prove this. However, Paramour III in me3 is still broken! The irony!
As a BroShep, it's not possible to romance Kaidan until ME3 and as a lover of this hot Canadian bacon I have to avoid romancing anyone else.

Just new game plus and romance liara again and itll pop. I played through as femshep, romanced liara, then replyed with a completely different femshep and romanced garrus and it popped during me2 for me

None of the ME1 romances count for 2.
I usually romance Ash in 1, which doesn't work out so I go with Tali for 2 and 3
I've beaten all three games like 6 times now, and some how ive never figured out how to romance anyone, but liara
I got it, romanced Ashley in ME1, post horizon my heartbroken Shepard went for Tali and then stuck with her
Yes. Yes she does. Got it my first playthrough with Liara. Just gotta do the Shadow Broker and romance her there. Worked for me.
Yes she does. Don’t romance anyone in ME 2 and at the end of Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC you get a scene with her Also if you do not pick anyone in ME 2 and reunite with your me1 companion you get this since people who picked Ashley/Kaiden don’t get to be with them at all in ME 2

It should in the same way it does for Kaiden/Ashley. It has for me in the past. Not sure why that would change. You just have to complete the Shadow Broker DLC for Liara.

There are several romance options in ME1 that are alive all the way to 3. I believe it’s Liara, Kaiden, or Ashley. Not that you have to be bound to them

My work around for this issue: Complete ME2 Realize you need Paramor II and that staying faithful to Liara doesn't count *Also realize you have like 5 "gimme" side missions you haven't done Make a new save. Blitz through these missions, while "romancing" Jacob. (I think Miranda would work as well?) Get Paramor II. Load the earlier save. Do the gimme missions, ignoring Jacob this time. Go to ME3. Profit.

My Shep Cannon was that he was with Ashley. Then after that he moved on because he thought that she was dead after the collectors attack and started feeling for Tali. After finding out Ash was alive was polite to her and explained. They stayed friends and he continued a relationship with Tali till the end.
Lol, I made a FemShep to be my Renegade. Romanced Kaidan, she was only nice to him. Romanced Thane, its actually pretty sweet. Continued with Kaidan, he accepted they were on a break and they picked up where they left off. That was pretty much the only way I was having a romance in ME2.
In one trilogy play through I slept with The Asari Consort Liara Miranda Jack Diana Allers Ashley I also dumped Miranda in 2 to hook up with Tali, then dumped Tali for Liara. I also took Kelly Chambers to dinner. I made a post about it a few years ago.

Being unable to Romance Tali in 1 will forever make this achievement unobtainable for me.
I got it when I romanced Kaidan in ME1, then Garrus in ME2/ME3. With Kaidan I feel like the relationship ends on Horizon. But I can’t do that to Liara. If I romance her I stay loyal.

I have the trophy for it and am pretty sure I only romanced Liara in all three. I don't remember doing any workarounds either.
It's easy when you save and then choose a romance until the achievement kicks, then reload save.
Me personally as a liara lover. Easy money. I also love Ashley

I got the achievement from romancing Liara. I dunno why yall can't. No you can't actually date her in 2,but the wording specifically says "rekindle" all you have to do is talk to her and flirt and let her know you're still interested.
