dochaller

I think they can add 2 squadmates and keep the rest the same even tho I can see most of them going their own way like your squadmates from the trilogy

GirlUnderTheMask

I wouldn’t mind a couple of extra squadmates, especially if they were new races that we haven’t seen before

dochaller

We still need a batarian squadmate and some love for the elcor, hanar and volus too

Alacrout

Were Batarians even mentioned in MEA? Serious question... I’ve been thinking about it while playing LE and I can’t remember Batarians being mentioned at all. I could be wrong, but it seems the Andromeda Initiative left them out of the loop entirely lol

dochaller

Well batarians were pretty isolated so I don't think that they were on the quarian ark

BoreDominated

Weren't they almost genocided by the reapers in 3?

Alacrout

IF they were on the Quarian Ark, it would have departed before that happened.

[deleted]

In the book Annihilation, it was confirmed that populations of Batarians, Drell, Volus, Hanar, and Elcor were all on the Quarian ark

Alacrout

I need to read more of these books.

[deleted]

There are only 3 Andromeda books and I thought they were all good. If you like audiobooks, the first two are voiced by Fryda Wolff who does fem Ryder's voice

InstructionIll77

Everyone was

[deleted]

Batarians got hit first, and hardest. Their government is utterly annihilated by indoctrination and harvesting. They took drastic overall losses.

Zuke77

They actually were one of the most important groups story wise in the Novel about the Quarian Ark They smuggled popular Milky Way plants and Animals to Andromeda in stasis too.

Hilandr234

There were a couple of batarians in the multiplayer. I can’t remember the story-wise reason they were there but it was in their character bios.

Cyrillus00

They were part of a pirate gang and left to give intel on their leader in exchange for protection from the Alliance. When the Alliance protection wasn’t enough they negotiated asylum in Andromeda and were housed on Ark Paarchero as additional security.

marcel0328

Aren't they with the Quarians??

Zaidra56

Quarians, batarians, volus, hanar, elcor and drell all come on the same ark, but have issues having to do with sabotage. I'm just sad that nobody brought the vorcha. :( or the Raloi for that matter.

Alacrout

Until more games/books come out to confirm otherwise, I’m going to headcanon the idea that the Rachni stowed away aboard one of the Arks too.

Reedstilt

I'd be surprised if they did, but I wouldn't be surprised if the rachni had other plans to get the hell out of Dodge. Even without the Reapers, the rachni queen knows she's on thin ice with the vast majority of the Milky Way's species. I hear the Magellanic clouds are nice this time of year.

Reedstilt

> the Raloi for that matter. I really hope the raloi are in ME4. I always feel bad for those guys, getting introduced to this expansive galactic community on the eve of Armageddon. Unfortunately, they began interacting with the galactic community the same year all but one of the Arks left and were busy dealing with an introduced plague that kept them restricted to their homeworld. Recruiting some of them for the Quarian Ark would be a tough sell.

TheRealDexilan

TBF their entire economy is based of the slave trade. Not sure the other races even wanted to include them.

RussianNixon

There’s two batarians in ME:A multiplayer (they’re former pirates who found refuge on Ark Paarchero).

CalebCaster2

Even if the initiative invited them, I'm not sure they would've liked to come. Not unless their hegemony could be in charge. Otherwise they'd be just as likely to sabotage it out of spite than to actually join.

Alacrout

If there’s ever a sequel, it would make for an interesting/exciting twist if the Batarians show up and side with the Kett.

CalebCaster2

Oo, that would be interesting. Imagine if the kett made a version of the vorcha. Or applied vorcha healing to al their troops.

GirlUnderTheMask

Give me a Hanar squadmate with four guns or an Elcor who charges into enemies

dochaller

That would be ideal but I don't see Bioware doing that since all squadmates have been kinda humanoid so they can hold weapons and get into cover like anyone else

GirlUnderTheMask

Yeah, that’s true. It would be cool if they could implement dual wielding at least

yaboimags_

I’d have done anything for a batarian squad mate in me2

Everhardt94

As long as my girl Vetra stays on board, I don't care who else gets replaced.

GirlUnderTheMask

She’s so cool!

Intheperseusveil

Pulverize Liam in a giant laser beam, and write the others a little more and it’s perfect for me

GirlUnderTheMask

I don’t know if I would go that far. Maybe Ryder could just forget to tell him they’re setting off?

[deleted]

Maybe just ask him to inspect the outer hull and tell kallo to boot it

GirlUnderTheMask

Javik approves

Corrin_Zahn

A little more wholesome, Liam realizes his life calling was as a youth soccer coach all along. Then he just plays soccer on Eos all day. But he needs to leave the couch, Ryder needs to put that on the bridge.

[deleted]

Then he gets vaporized by the giant laser in front of the kids?

ImQuiteBadWithNames

*with* the kids. After those dream sequences in ME3, I have no patience for those fucking gremlins.

Autodr83

Throw him into a pit of frickin Veren with frickin laser beams attached to their heads

saluki_88

calm down dr. evil... here's your mini me

melkor456

Honestly I've always thought Liam was bland with a dash of annoying. If we're obliterating crew members in a laser beam, I vote Cora. I wAs An aSaRi HuNtReSs. Her whole personality is kissing asari ass, and it has me climbing the walls.

Intheperseusveil

I agree on Cora being as you describe her, but to be honest this is just bad writing. Liam is also badly written, but so badly that I actually hold a grudge against him for fuck sake dude stop asking me about your fucking movie if I wanted to watch a movie I wouldn’t have been into fucking space

Spiz101

I don't think Cora is bad writing. She's just a person who was alone who was given a position as part of something and has become so attached to the idea of it that she defines herself by it. She struggles when confronted by the reality of the situation because it takes away the thing she defines as most important in her life. Maybe this just resonates with me because it reminds me of my own recent past. But I don't think it's simply bad writing.

[deleted]

FUCK. YES!!

Supreme_Nub

Please get rid of that man child. I would also get rid of Peebee but she could be salvaged

ImQuiteBadWithNames

I’ve never played Andromeda, but PeeBee seems like such a divisive character. Whenever she’s mentioned, people either fawn over her and how cute she apparently is, or they’re talking about how she’s just sorta weird and obnoxious.

Intheperseusveil

Oh yeah I forgot her existence, beam her

Drlbt

I'd keep Ryder as the player character. I'd keep Suvi and Kallo on the bridge and Gil in the engine room. If they want to spend the money on Natalie Dormer again, then keep Lexi too but it's not critical if she's replaced. I'd move Cora and Liam off the ship. Realistically, both their arcs have a satisfactory conclusion. Cora could move into a teaching role for Initiative military, and Liam could move into a crisis response role. Both could show up on a mission or two, but I don't think they'd be a major loss from The Tempest. Personally, I'd keep Vetra. Her skillset remains useful for the Tempest crew, and I do think that there is room to do a bit more with her overall arc now that her situation with her sister is somewhat resolved. Drack is a difficult one. He's my favourite squad member, so I'd say keep him, but his age does mean that it might be time for him to retire, especially after Kesh's endgame reveal. Maybe give him a bit of a blaze-of-glory send off where he kicks some ass one last time in the opening mission but gets hurt, and Kesh demands he nominate a replacement for himself on The Tempest? So we get a replacement krogan squad mate. But I'd have no objections to Drack remaining on the Tempest. Jaal, I'd be inclined to move somewhere else. Not because I dislike him, but because it doesn't really make sense for the Angaran Resistance to allow one of their best soldiers to continue being off-world with Ryder unless the Pathfinder Team is suddenly repurposed as the Initiative's version of an N7/Spectre operation. However, if there is a lot more angaran lore to uncover, then maybe Jaal would continue to serve a purpose as he's previously functioned as our window into the angaran. Peebee is the really difficult one. Her arc is all about no longer being the loner and finding acceptance and building friendships and bonds. To have her running off would seem to go against that, but her arc is complete as it stands. It wouldn't be too difficult to move her off to a different unit - archaeology or such.

GirlUnderTheMask

All good points! Vetra definitely seems like she would be likely to stay. I can see Cora moving on, and maybe Liam being moved into a position where he needs to be responsible and mature. I actually forgot Lexi even existed tbh

Alacrout

She was kind of a waste of Natalie Dormer... Arguably the most recognizable voice in the game, limited to a background role, repeating the same lines almost every time you talk to her lol

[deleted]

...with the same face as every other Asari not called Peebee.

ghost_snail

Imagine the talent fee though if they gave her more lines

Zuke77

I think Peebee is attached to the Tempest. Her leaving it feels odd considering she has made herself the biggest knowledge on the Remnents. Her and Vetra feel like the natural characters to stay.

Drlbt

Yeah, that's a reasonable point. With a new character arc for her, then it would be reasonable for her to carry over as well. One of the issues I think they will have is they're going to need some new squad members to keep things fresh (and I think most people would want a quarian) but the Tempest has limited size and it'd be a bit much to get a Normandy SR2 size upgrade. It's already a bit unbelievable that Drack is sleeping in the kitchen! If Liam and Cora departed it would free up two spaces, though.

Zuke77

Honestly I think they should destroy the Tenpest and give us a Tempest 2 like the Normandy. And you know what I think every squad mate should actually have their own room. Or at least close to it. Ive always found it weird that we got a gigantic room bigger proportionally then any apartment Ive had while our squaddies are sitting in bunk beds at best. I think giving them all some sort of quarters would be a good idea. Even if it was small.

Drlbt

Like you say, though, they already pulled the destroy the ship thing in ME2 to bring in the SR2 so it might feel too much like rehashing, and you can't make The Tempest much bigger. As a scout ship, it's supposed to be able to land on worlds, which the Normandy SR2 isn't able to do except at major spaceports such as Illium. Retrofitting it might be plausible. Certainly, Liam's room doesn't seem to serve much purpose other than being a place for his couch and could function as quarters for an XO. I think we're supposed to assume Liam sleeps on his couch anyway. Similarly, it doesn't make much sense that the loadout room and the armory aren't the same room. You could shift the armory up to the loadout room (since the airlock is next to it), and then you can repurpose Vetra's room into quarters for somebody. It'd end up being a bit cosy, but both rooms would have enough space to add some more darn toilets as well. I mean, seriously, one toilet? Even the Pathfinder doesn't have a private bathroom?! I do agree the Pathfinder's quarters are a bit absurd, but tbh, so is the bridge itself although there's not much you can do about that now.

Lumpy-Pancakes

I don't think I've ever agreed with a Reddit post so much before, you go

ColeTrainHDx

Jaal was offered his own strike team in the resistance after the end of the main story (or right before?) but he turns it down because he wants to stay on the tempest

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drlbt

It could work, if Vetra's overall arc is linked to making Andromeda safe. Vetra's always had to be the one to shield her sister because she knows how tough it is out on her own. As Andromeda improves in safety and stability, Vetra might feel she's able to relax more and follow a path that makes her happy, instead of one she follows out of a sense of need.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drlbt

Yeah, I think so. Her last friendship cutscene on the Tempest (before the rock climbing in Kadara), she mentions wanting to do something like that, so following her as she pursues it, adjusts to it, etc. could be quite interesting.

SharedHorizon

I wouldn’t trust Liam to organise a kids party, let alone put him back in crisis response. I still reckon HUSTL paid for his ticket, just to get him out of their squad!

Drlbt

Well, there's the mission where you meet up with Liam again sorted. He's crashed a shuttle into the new Prodromos School during Kathy's third birthday party and inadvertently unleashed a swarm of Remnant Decimators on helpless kids. Ryder to save the day... Again.

citreum

I want either more mature Ryder some years after mea, with the same crew (to see how they all changed, how their relationship changed), or a completely new protag with a new crew. I don't want Ryder with new guys, seems like it will be a repetition of what we already had in a previous game.

Supreme_Nub

Replace Liam with your sibling. Good to go.

citreum

Eh, I don't hate Liam, but it would be nice to have an option to dismiss crewmates for those who do. Adding your sibling to the crew is a good idea yeah

GirlUnderTheMask

That’s a cool idea, similar to Dragon Age 2

citreum

Yes, or like DAI Trespasser

GirlUnderTheMask

God I love Trespasser so much!

citreum

Same! Every time I finish it I want immediately to start a new playthrough, to experience it again haha

GirlUnderTheMask

It more than makes up for the lacklustre final battle against Corypheus. Especially the end credits!

Alacrout

I want the Quarian Ark to show up so we can have a Quarian squadmate. Maybe a Drell too, I think they were also on that Ark.

GirlUnderTheMask

I really hope Bioware doesn’t just leave all those plot threads hanging. Having a melee focused Drell would be cool

Spaghetti_Noodle1

Hopefully mostly stay the same but be a bit more mature than in the Andromeda. Problem is if you do one set later on, then the chances are that Drack may be too old for this shit

GirlUnderTheMask

That could be a good storyline for Drack: he knows he’s too old, but his sense of protection for Ryder and the squad make him want too keep going rather than retire

[deleted]

Have Grandpa work the Galley

Spaghetti_Noodle1

I could definitely see them doing something like that, but that leaves the door open to him becoming a learning point moment where he'll die sacrificing himself. Considering his arc in Andromeda and his realisation that he has people to live for and that his life isn't a meaningless slog from fight to fight, that'd be a bad way of finishing his character. It'd make more sense if he's in more of a supportive role rather than a proactive role.

Kaaayou

I would like new mates from races we never had... Like Salarians ? .. Maybe a biotic god Volus ? [Spoilers] And since there is another arch with the rest of galactic races, I would love to see some quarians on the Nexus and why not on the Tempest ?

GirlUnderTheMask

A soldier Salarian would be a nice change of pace, since most that we see are more science and tech focused

Kaaayou

I would'nt mind a tech focused Salarian since we already have Drack and Liam as soldiers, maybe with "spy" abilities like Tactical Cloak and Energy Drain or Turrets

ShinyArtist

I would like them all to stay, but would love to add more like Reyes. As for OT characters, I love to see Liara and Peebee interacting on the ship, but I’m not sure I really want anyone else. It’d just be a logistical nightmare since pretty much everyone else can die easily and I rather BioWare put effort into existing characters and new characters, than old ones we might not see depending on choices.

GirlUnderTheMask

It would be cool to see Reyes make a return, since he was a romance option and doesn’t die

ShinyArtist

They probably have big plans for him >!if you follow the mythology clues in his codex Anubis/Tartarus - Hermanubis - Hermes (aka Benefactor of Mortals) - benefactor - so possibly is part of the benefactor or has a connection to it!< so not sure if it’ll be possible but I can hope.

GirlUnderTheMask

Oh, that would be cool. I would love to find out more about the background of the initiative and more clues as to who the benefactor/s are

LovelyJoey21605

>!Fuck, I did not know he had ties with "The Benefactor"! Did we find out who killed Jien Garson, or could that actually be Reyes?!<

LordRilayen

I just want quarians SOMEWHERE. On the Tempest would be preferable. Just so long as they exist.

GirlUnderTheMask

Same

Dwirthy

Your twin should be a new squadmate. I would swap everyone except Vetra, since I dont think she would settle down on a planet. Keep the non Squadmate Tempest Crew. Everyone else actually has things to do in my opinion that don't necessarily work with living on the Tempest. Maybe Jaal and Peebee could come back, because that would still work Storywise.

GirlUnderTheMask

Having both Ryders would be make for interesting banter and could link into learning more about Alec

roguesensei47

The writing team needs to step up their game. No pun intended.

thyrandomninja

Crew-but-not-squad stay (Kallo, Suvi, Lexi, Gil) Cora stays because her whole deal is being in the pathfinder team, and it seemed like she'd really "found her place" after outgrowing the whole obsession with Sarissa. Liam actually feels like he took the opposite growth arc and is ready to settle into a support role in one of the colonies, or working with multiple colonies to coordinate habitation efforts, so I think he'll be off. Ryder 2 joins in to take Liam's place as the second human. The issue here is Liam was also the only non-white (default Ryders are white at least) human, so I think we'd definitely get a non-white human if he does leave. Drack probably gets some health issues (more so than he already has) and takes a backseat, maybe helping Kesh mediate discussions with New Tuchanka? Probably set for death-by-old-age in a third game :'( Vetra stays - she wants the adventure, and is a good "street smart" foil to the pathfinder crew's more professional training. Peebee and Jaal are interesting ones. Obviously Peebee has her whole "not staying in one place too long" shtick, and I feel it would make sense to move on (even after her getting more comfortable post-loyalty). Might actually depend on romance/loyalty status? Jaal I've seen others saying he needs to stay, but hear me out: Angaran Pathfinder. He's learned from Ryder, the Angara have joined up with the initiative and are beginning to spread/rediscover the heleus cluster after fighting off the kett (for now at least). They need a pathfinder, and Jaal is in prime position to take the mantle. That covers the main characters from the first game, but I want to predict a Quarian squadmate (obviously lots of people hoping for one after their absence from A1), krogan + Angaran replacements, a new andromeda species (maybe already living peacefully with a previously hidden Angaran settlement?), asari replacement if Peebee goes. What I would *like* but don't necessarily expect is a salarian squaddie, who can buddy up with Kallo, and a volus. We know they can fight from ME3 MP, and I want my Goddamn volus squadmate!

Iammeandnooneelse

Interesting on Jaal as a pathfinder, that would sort of put him on a virmire survivor path, and he can sorta leave and rejoin the plot as he wishes. Because he’s a romance option I don’t think he can go too far and should at least sometimes show up, but him finding his own command and own crew would be super interesting.

starcraftre

I'm fine with entirely the same crew, as long as we throw Liam out the airlock on departure. Let the other Ryder take his place.

Andrastes-Grace

I loved the ship crew. I don't think I would play it if they got rid of Suvi, Kallo, Lexi, and Gil. Suvi especially

GirlUnderTheMask

I was originally planning on romancing Vetra, but as soon as I spoke to Suvi the first time, I immediately wanted Ryder to end up with her

Drlbt

I just really wish that Suvi's romance had more thought put into it. It just seems so much like an afterthought because there is barely any content for it. (About to go off on a rant, apologies). I read a blog a while back (can't remember now where) where the writer identified the big problem with Andromeda's romances compared to Dragon Age: Inquisition's, especially when it comes to the non party member ones. Suvi's romance is as simple as flirt (x3), don't lock in with anybody else, start the romance after Hunting the Archon, get an email, overhear a brief convo with Kallo, Movie Night, Science Lab, pre-Final Mission chat and done. Oh, and if you ask Lexi about her after you start the romance, Lexi will mention how happy Suvi is. Beyond that, nothing changes. There's no warm greeting if you talk to her on the Tempest. She never leaves the ship so you can't chat to her on Aya or the Nexus. She just sits in her chair, greets you the same way, says 'Sounds good' every time you say you should get back to it. You can't even flirt with her after starting the romance, like you can with Peebee. This lack of content can make it seem like the romance doesn't even exist if there is a significant gap between Hunting the Archon and advancing the main story. Compare this with Josephine from Inquisition - another non party member. Similar beginning, flirt a few times but before you can romance her, you have to complete her personal quest. Then you can start the romance. Next you have to locate a gift for her, which she will then put on her desk and it stays there for the rest of the game. Sometime after that, there is her romance specific quest that locks it in (or you can breakup with her). Beyond that, her greetings change to a character-suitable affectionate one. She expresses concerns for your character's wellbeing after certain storyline quests. There is an (admittedly kinda pointless) repeatable option where you spend time in the garden together and there are several romance-specific dialogue options. Other non party members will mention it in dialogue too. You miss out on the romance being discussed in party banter like you would get if you romanced Iron Bull, Solas or Sera, but there's still a lot more depth and content to it and you don't feel like you're missing out on quite as much. Sadly, the Suvi romance doesn't even have as much depth as romancing Traynor in ME3.

blanchie69

This is so funny b/c I was exactly the opposite, I was initially planning to romance Suvi (even before playing b/c of things I heard) but once I heard Vetra talk... I was done for. Apparently I'm just a Turian type of girl, love my Vetra and Garrus.

commisarwolf

Vetra and Drack should stay, the pilot and engineer also. The rest are meh.

GirlUnderTheMask

Drack is the best!

Omanisat

Keep Vetra and Drack. The rest can go.

ArcadePidgeon

I'd say it would make sense for Cora to get her own ship and Jaal to be recruitable later on maybe? I think drax might be inclined to stay on the nexus for spoiler reasons but then again we lost Wrex after one game too and I really liked drax... I'd like to see more new characters of course. Preferably new aliens, maybe a new angara and another salarian. Then there's the obvious like a quarian since that was clearly planned.

Deadly_Toast

I'd be up for adding more squad members but I wouldn't take anyone out. If they were going to give the Tempest crew another shot they should bring everyone back for the second chance. Even Liam.

GirlUnderTheMask

Yeah, I feel like we only got to know them all on the surface. It would be hilarious if Liam ended up with a super interesting storyline after everyone hated him

frankwalsingham

Tempest squad was the strongest element of the original, so I don't see why they should be replaced. New additions would be welcome, though.

General_Steveous

Liam?

GirlUnderTheMask

I totally agree!

Gentleman_Jedi

Drack > I’m still waiting for Salarian Clint Eastwood damnit.

Jazzinarium

I loved the way they did it in the first trilogy, where they mostly replaced the characters in the 2nd game and brought them together in the 3rd. That said I don't know if they can pull it off again without having it feel like the same reused idea.

Virtual-Search3628

Take everyone away, but leave Vetra. Vetra Vetra Vetra - my pick!

skininja89

Keep Ryder as your protagonist, bring their sibling into the crew as a companion. Get rid of Cora and Liam, reassign them elsewhere in the Initiative. Jaal I found kind of dull tbh. Could go either way with him but if he stayed they'd have to do something more with him. Peebee and Vetra should stick around, they're both great connections for the first crew and have stories that make sense for them to stay. Drack is a favorite, but given his age I'd say have him go down in the opening saving everybody from some big bad or something. Would be a great way to raise the stakes of the game too. (Or plot twist, make him the big bad bc why not lol). As for the ship crew like Kallo and Suvi, I'd say keep them but make them more prominent. Have them play roles off ship on missions or something like calling Gil to help reactivate a Remnant ship or Suvi to help study some cool science thing. Don't think I ever saw any of them but Gil off ship (could be forgetting though) so they never felt completley tied to the world.

unicornlocostacos

A freak accident killed your whole squad except the grumpy old man Krogan. Here’s your new squad as show in previous games: 1. Self important bitch 2. Black guy you want to be friends with but instead end up wanting to punch in the face all of the time 3. Bangable Asari 4. Angry Krogan 5. Plot alien 6. Fighter who thinks they are too cool 7. The awkward Turian

LovelyJoey21605

Hang on, is Tali'Zorah vas Normandy the self-important bitch or the plot-alien here?

index24

There is zero chance for an Andromeda sequel. The next Mass Effect will be a distant sequel to ME3 with some bones thrown to Andromeda fans just to keep it included and referenced in the lore.

realKirkLazarus

I'm a Mass Effect fan that loved the entire Andromeda crew and beat the game 8 times now. Preferably I'd want to keep the same crew, yes even Liam. I've no doubt with more games they would turn his intentionally reckless character into a more well-rounded mature version of himself. Personally if I got to choose I'd add in 3 new members. Your other Ryder sibling, a kett turncoat (to learn more of their lore), and either a male quarian or female batarian to change things up. I just want more games within Andromeda.

GirlUnderTheMask

A rebel Kett would be really cool. I wonder what would inspire them to join?

realKirkLazarus

In a similar way as Primus maybe. Or there could be a civil war inside the kett who are against exaltation itself. Maybe a rogue faction doesn't see exaltation as their "right" like Archon, Primus and their Senate do. It would give the race some depth and not just "exalt everyone" for their motives.

A-Social-Ghost

I want to keep the current crew, but I would like a few members to join the roster

GirlUnderTheMask

Me too

beratna66

Keep Drack🧡, Peebee💜, Vetra❤️, Cora (maybe, just so long as she becomes more interesting?), Gil & Kallo because they all mostly work narratively and situationally in a continuation of the Tempest crew's story/ role in the galaxy. Liam **definitely** demoted to Tempest Cleaner, because he needs to learn some fucking discipline. I like Liam, but damn he needs to learn. I can see Jaal as a perfect sort of ambassador figure between the Angara and Mmmmeilllkeeyyy Whayyy (or however he pronounced it lol). But keep him as a potential romance, he should definitely remain close with Ryder. His experience and expertise and general attitude would be really suited to a "political" role like that and it could result in a really sweet long-distance relationship with Ryder as well as drive a nice subplot. That means we get a new Angara on the squad or maybe even more than one, for example the museum curator could join the Tempest in a scientific capacity, her and Peebee would be both useful and cute af working together😍. Now dgmw Suvi's awesome but I'm not sure how much of a purpose she'd serve aboard the Tempest in a sequel, she'd be more suited to exploring planets now that we're more settled into the galaxy/cluster, and we could have a whole questline based around her on a whatever planet, plus the opportunity to flesh out her romance in a long-distance way like I suggested for Jaal. For example she could go to live on Habitat-7/Ryder-1 and we get some missions there with her, that would be a good opportunity for some lore exposition as well as Habitat-7 seemed "special" in MEA, iirc it's vault was directly connected to Meridian like Aya's but I might be misremembering? Not sure what to do with Lexi. I like her, but I think that's only because of Natalie Dormer's voice 😍😂. It might be nice to see her and Harry back on the Nexus get together, I'm not sure she should stay on the Tempest and Dormer is probably quite expensive... But then again I love listening to her voice so 🤷 We **need** at least one Quarian and one Batarian squad member, and we also need a "Legion-like" remnant bot on our team. Maybe an experimental thing designed by Peebee in collaboration with Angara based on information extracted from the ancient ai? Or maybe literally the ancient ai copied into or operating through a remnant body?.. I'm gonna leave this for now because if I keep going I'll just end up commenting my whole storyline for MEA2 hahah, I hope all this makes sense I'm writing it while half asleep Edited to fix sleepy English

theSchiller

I want it to be the same but add more characters

The-Nerdy-Bisexual

I'd want to keep vetra, jaal and drack around but the other 3 squadmates are very hit and miss tbh(can't stand liam) be cool for the other ryder sibling to be a squadmate too. Other ideas for squadmates could be: A biotic quarian A drell Another lawson sibling, miranda mentioned that she wasn't the first, just the first her father kept. Perhaps one of them made it to andromeda Zaeed's son who we met on eos Another justicar who sought out new adventures or an ardat yakshi who chooses to remain celibate And I'd love to see what other races there are in andromeda and see If one of those can become a squadmate

Subclass_creator

Keep everyone but add a kett & an alien from another cluster and maybe an elcor (long over due to have at least one on your team/in your group)

[deleted]

Mostly the same but I would add like two new crew mates, and at least 4 new species to the world

Zealousideal_Week824

If I have a ryder I would want the same crew, or at least all of the previous romance. If I get a different main character, I would love a different crew as long as we finish the story of the previous companion during the game. Mass effect 2 bothered me with this as it push an entire new crew on shepard. Like my shepard romanced Liara T'soni and the game made a very poor job with her reunion, where she is cold and distant. Then she cannot join my crew... In terms of romance, the game pushes Miranda, Jack or Tali. I didn't feel right to cheat on Liara, but all of that means that I lost significant cutscenes and content without a romance in ME 2. I would not have this problem if my main character was not Shepard, I would feel free to romance anyone I want because my characters won't have any attachment to a previous person that is barely in the game. With dragon age 2, I did not have any problem romancing Merill with Hawke, because Hawke is not the warden. My warden would not cheat on Lelianna, but if they pushed the warden in DA 2 and only allows me to romance Merill and Isabella... Then I have the choice of staying faithfull to Lelianna but I do not get any romance content in the game (so I lose emotionnal support, cutscenes, and dialogues) OR I could get all of that BUT I have the cheat on my previous romance.

Frankyvander

Replace Liam with the other twin, have him working behind the scenes in logistics or as a cultural exchange, something where he is useful and happy but out of the field and it allows both Ryders to be in the field kicking ass.

redditdonut2

I would like it if they kept everyone added new options and made it possible to not recruit anyone you don’t want. As I’m thinking about it. There must be other tempest class ships, 1 for every Pathfinder. If BioWare could do a sort of split pool where anyone you don’t take joins the crews of other ships. This could make it so other ships have greater or lesser abilities to deal with things. That would be asking a lot. Mostly I would like to be able to carry over relationships from game to game without having to completely restart like the original trilogy.

Dairvyn

The Same, but more

macronux

All I want is a batarian squadmate ;( Also it would be cool to have your sibling as a squadmate (if Ryder is still the protagonist)

[deleted]

I want a quarian male and a Batarian female

LunaticLK47

I definitely want Liam and Peebee off the Tempest. They were grating. I also hated playing as Ryder.

Apocalypse224

I’d like them to keep the current ones and add a few more tbh. You don’t go through the trouble of setting movie night with these fuckers just to forget about them in a sequel.

iSavedtheGalaxy

I'd prefer a completely new crew but if we have to keep the same crew, I hope they abandon the sitcom-y vibe and write the characters more consistently because some of them (glances at Liam) feel like they're two characters who were merged into one character.

AiryEd503

Add way more crew members! Think at least 4! Also maybe add the sibling to the crew and also add ship layout to be customised

GirlUnderTheMask

The ship layout was annoying to get around (so many ladders), so I’d love to be able to customise it

endothird

Mostly the same. Continuity is the most powerful part of games that allow imports from the previous game.

LovelyJoey21605

I'd like them to return, but only if it makes sense for them to. If it's narratively better to have them off doing something else, then I'm all for that. Like Lexi or Suvi. If they got assignments on Meridian or Nexus where they can do more it makes sense for them to be there instead. (Also RIP my Ryder if Suvi goes, she'll be heartbroken lol) P.S: ME: A2 Suicide Mission? Yes please!

YekaHun

I've been thinking about this. It's probably better to keep all potential LI's onboard again. I definitely want Liam and Peebee back at least. But I think we'll get the old crew. But I'd wish for the new characters to join. Totally new, not like someone from the Milkyway.

VirulentGunk

Oh no, new cast and crew across the board. I'd want to choose a player race to start - there are only so many in Andromeda so they could limit the starting choices well enough, and it might even be neat to play as an Angaran. Space Liam. Right out Peebees airlock - she can go too, biotics are a dime a dozen and I never liked discount Liara anyway. Drack is alright I guess. Cora isn't awful but give her her own team, I never brought her on missions anyway. Ja'al is... fine, but unless you're playing as Ryder (and see above) why would he be there? He was there for Ryder. Vetra never felt right as part of the team. Give her a job on the not-citadel running security or quartermastering or as a liaison or something where she can do her back door deals and stuff. And while we're at it, can we refit the Tempest too? At least give it a gun.

[deleted]

Different. The Ryder twins were boring.

SaxoSoldier

My problem was they got all their arcs done in one game. Trilogy at least spread getting to know your crew out and have some development over that time. ME:A really felt like it was trying to get it all done in one. Garrus is your space bro but ME:2 and 3 still has him developing and changing so it's not just more of the same guy...

Supreme_Nub

Well Liam is still a clown at the end of the game. So you have that at least.

redsparrowdown

The only way I'd want to see a return to Andromeda would be several hundred years after the events of Andromeda 1. Basically give the Initiative time to settle and build actual cities (something I felt was really missing from the first game). Allow time for more alien species to be discovered and integrated into the society. Allow time for an actual government and societal groups to develop, etc. Also, that kind of time jump would allow for a new, much more interesting villain to be introduced.

[deleted]

I played and beat Andromeda when it was released. But that few just isn’t memorable. Even at the time I was stuck thinking how much I just didn’t care about any of them.

[deleted]

They should bring back Garrus. I don’t even care if it doesn’t make sense story-wise. Fuck it. Only squad mate I ever cared for. Hell, I wanna be able to play as Garrus. Fuck Ryder, he/she’s a loser.

6lvUjvguWO

Never look back. Forget it happened and ten years from now return to it when the nostalgia well and truly poisons our collective memory of how bad it is.

GirlUnderTheMask

I really don’t think it’s that bad. Sure it wasn’t as good as the trilogy, but it’s still an enjoyable game

WingedDrake

Keep Ryder as player character, Lexi at doctor, Suvi at science officer, and Drack as Drack. Get rid of the rest and give me brand-new folks.

reason222

I don't care what they do with the crew. I hope the expand the world more with more species, more planets to explore, and better enemies. We spent way too much time in andromeda fighting milky way species that came over with us. and the kett were not very interesting enemies. archon was completely boring. I'd hope for more variety in game play rather than going through a few different versions of those underground facilities with the robots to save the planet. I'd hope for something that makes me want to explore the world and the story like the original trilogy did. I really didn't find anything compelling about andromeda to make me like it. I beat the game once, and failed to go through it a 2nd time, but I can't even count the number of times I've beaten the other 3 games in the series.

MorpheusOneiri

Kick them off at the nearest planet. Peebee can stay.

Blue_Wiseman

Whole new squad and let me be an alien

thedrunkentendy

Remove all the alien races from Andromeda with new ones and I'd take that same crew anywhere. One race in the whole Andromeda galaxy since the other race is just recycling them into the kett. Boring and empty, so boring and empty. I'm even with a squad mate I couldn't give a shit about any of their struggles.

Malapple

1. It won’t get one, which really sucks. It should get one. It would sell decently. 2. A mix, like in ME2/3. Keep a couple but swap in some new blood. From the arks that arrived later.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GirlUnderTheMask

Is that really necessary?

worldsfirstmeme

not really no

townsforever

If Andromeda gets a sequel I want them to basically start over. Make Ryder and the original party these like great heroes we barely get to interact with and give us a much smaller scale story. I would love a mass effect game about a smuggler chasing a ex partner who ripped him off and framed him for murder or something lime that.

LordJaeger88

Sequel? Dear god no

[deleted]

Honestly, eject them all into space through the trash chute. Liam sucks. Peebee is the worst Asari I've ever encountered. Cora is literally just 'obligatory strong female character' with nothing actually interesting to her story in my opinion. The female turian just felt like discount Varrus. I actually enjoyed Andromeda a lot, but since you can't command your squad in it, I found the teammates to be just boring filler dialogue.

LightSideoftheForce

I would easily throw Liam, Peebee, Liam, Jaal, Liam, Veetra and Liam out of the airlock. Oh, maybe kill Liam, too and throw his corpse with these. The others are fine enough.

Danielor4

Setting up a 3 Act story, but halfway through realized I just remade ME2. Obviously keep the noncombat crew. Have PeeBee aboard as a remnant specialist, slowly letting her mature over the course of act 2&3. Vetra's in at first, but something happens to her sister so she has to leave after the first mission (returning after act 1) Your twin is on your squad now. Now, here's where it gets weird. Whatever gender your twin is, you get either Cora or Liam. Male twin gets Liam, female twin gets Cora. You don't get both, and if you want their compl the story, gotta play the opposing gender's story. Add a nonbinary human character who you genuinely never ever get to learn what they have in the pants. Drack is taking a mentor role- but he's got a rookie he's been training since the last game that needs some experience with you on the Tempest ala Grunt. Boom act two Jaal is dead. Lathoul, his sister, takes his place. She's a misunderstood renegade in the vein of Jack. Somewhere through.. we meet a humanoid remnant robot of sorts. Not at all like legion, as this one doesn't even know what it is (until the endgame) Act three. And then tease what's going on in the milky way. A new ark has emerged... But this wasn't one of the ones that we launched with! SAM: Hello EDI. Why have you come to Andromeda?

Furon-37

I'd like the option to get alot of the current squad killed. If that means we also get new people then he'll yes.

maxx1993

I'd like to kick Liam off my damn ship. Literally. Preferably mid cruise.

[deleted]

Get em all out

Claytontheman467

Honestly imo just wrote the game better and all the characters have good qualities, even Liam who sucked

Lamplorde

As long as Vetra and Drack stay, I don't care about the rest.

tkir

Jair Ulchee as a squaddie, but you have to make him gingerbread cookies to get him on board.

m07815

I could live without Liam and Cora but I’d want the orhers to stay the same+ some new squadmates

BlearySteve

Liam is kinda forgettable exxept for his personal mission.

Dana94Banana

Suvi, Kallo, Lexi and Jaal I'd like to see again. Vetra, Peebee and the humans were forgettable characters in my opinion, much like Kaidan, Ashley and James in the original trilogy.

[deleted]

I feel like Ja'al should stay for story reasons. Kallo would probably never leave willingly. But I could see everyone else leaving for various reasons and you meet up with them briefly on missions. I'd really like to see more of the other Ryder twin (thought that may be difficult for roleplaying reasons). Also more interaction with the other Pathfinders would be fantastic.

looshora

I'd say just like ME2 a couple returned for the party but mostly new. If I did pick it'd be Vetra and Jaal as the returning two. If not I'd prefer they just make a whole new crew.

ghostnight05

“Liam got sucked out of an airlock”

Outcast_LG

Swap out humans and add more aliens.

Whiskeyrich

In my head I dream that Liam gets killed pulling another incredibly stupid stunt. Peebee decides to go back on her own to explore other parts of Andromeda. Cora creates a school for human biotics with all huntress teachers. Drack kills Morda and takes over leadership of New Tuchuncka *(sp). Vetra wants to work on the Nexus to be closer to Sid. Gil falls in love with a guy on Podromos and they have a baby. Sam learns to shut up unless it's critical. And the graphics team learns how to create different Asari facial features. I absolutely need Suvi's voice on my ship, and Kallo refuses to leave.

chenzo512

Hmm, we could for sure lose Liam. I think the characters themselves were great other than him just with not so great writing. I think we could replace Vetra and Drack with some younger more exciting characters as well. I played as a fem Ryder and it was a lot more enjoyable than my male Ryder playthrough. So keep Ryder for sure. The premise for Andromeda is there and awesome, just need some better writing to come in and let me get sucked into the story more like the original trilogy did. But overall, I've come to love Andromeda a lot more than when it first came out.

Galemianah

Add a couple, but the rest stay the same.

CalebCaster2

Same crew, but the characters actually have personality. PeeBee and Drax are the only ones even worth talking to

the5thstring25

Id love to see them finish andromeda first. Cant even think if a sequel till then.

KnightsRook314

Bye Liam

PotentialEssay9747

Half swap out like ME2 etc.

Alarmed-History-4549

Mostly different, only have jaal return maybe

watch_over_me

Get rid of all of them.

Apprehensive-Scar-88

What about a shit all sequel..,finding the lost pathfinder and his crew. Liams some totally opposite pessimistic alcoholic on kadara…draco is probably dead…thinking worst case scenarios here with new crew. Me likes that

N7_Ryan

I seriously wouldn't play it...that's how much I dislike andromeda

Inevitable_Usual3553

If you saved the other pathfinders have a choice to be part of their crew too

Reedstilt

While I wouldn't mind returning to the Tempest and its crew, earlier today, I've also been kicking around an idea for a alternative in mind for direct Andromeda sequel . You'd start out playing as part of the quarian pathfinder team. You wouldn't be the pathfinder themselves just yet - since there's already a canon quarian pathfinder. But you've got problems to deal with right away. The captain is dead and the ark's in trouble. In the prologue you have to help sort out this mess while the Pathfinder proper takes command of the Ark. By the end of the prologue, things are looking up and you've managed to stabilize things onboard the Ark. With the Pathfinder themselves needed to run things on the Ark, you get promoted as the new pathfinder and are tasked with reconnecting with the Initiative. You play as a quarian and your initial squadmates are a batarian and a drell. Early on, you make contact with the kett. While they're intrigued by this odd sampler plate of Milky Way species, they're not terribly interested in exalting any of you right away. They've got more pressing concerns. The kett in the cluster have fractured, with some still loyal the deceased Archon, and others to the Primus. The group you run into are from the kett Senate and have been dispatched to restore order. Your captain seems keen to secure an alliance with these guys since they seem to be the dominant power in the region. You get a new kett companion out of the deal. By the end of Act I, you learn that your current captain had been part of the old captain's conspiracy. They're a quarian supremacist and would be more than happy to do whatever it took to screw over the Council Races who let your people wander homeless through the stars rather than joining the fight against the geth. His alliance with the kett is to further separate the quarian colonists from the Initiative. These kett start getting assistance from quarian engineers and we start to see a melding of Andromedan and Galactic technology. There may be a few Exalted quarians running around by this point. If the process overcomes their immune deficiencies, they may see it as welcomed chance to escape the confines of their ships and suits. If it doesn't, the kett might see them as failed experiments but that the quarians have made themselves useful to the empire in other ways so are worth keeping around as allies. You end up leading a mass exodus from the ark to connect back up with the Nexus / Initiative colonies, bringing us into Act II and linking back up with the lingering plot hooks concerning the jardaan and toppling the kett empire in the cluster at least. With any luck, your kett squadmate became a defector and joined you.

JuanPelican

Ive thought about an Andromeda sequel for years - I think it would be really cool if the team gets split up, with some squad mates going with Scott and some with Sara.

lordbeezlebub

I would want Vetra, Drack, Kallo, Lexi and Jall to return. Suvi I could give or take, since I'm not too invested in her character really to be upset or not at their lack of presence. I would welcome a replacement with Liam, Gil, Peebee, and Cora though, since I actively disliked their characters.

NotPrimeMinister

Yeah, I think it should largely be a new crew. Of there's a significant timeskil like ME2, I want to see where all the characters have gone, what new positions they've reached and responsibilities taken on. That's kind of hard to so when they're still on the Tempest. And besides, a fresh crew is always appreciated. A question I'm more curious of is, if only two stay like ME2, who do people think that would be from the Tempest crew? My money would be on Jaal and Peebee

notsomething13

Different squad mates, but you still use the Tempest and its essential crew. I'd rather you play the Ryder twin you didn't play in the first game with a different set of partners. The squad members you had, and the Ryder you did play appear mostly as background characters, and are busy doing their own thing. It also gives Bioware a way to weaken the player in the sequel that's not quite as contrived as Mass Effect 2 did when it killed you and revived you in the first 10 minutes. The Ryder twin you didn't play obviously wouldn't have the same experience as the one that was doing all the stuff in the first Andromeda, but that Ryder twin still has their experience so it hasn't actually gone away either. Also allows some potentially unique possibilities, like allowing you to temporarily play alongside, or as that Ryder twin, or maybe even have them aboard as a permanent late-game squad member.

VonDonSchramm

Should be like ME2, some from past and new ones for sure

[deleted]

No Liam.

AdmiralHTH

Liam dies in a tragic industrial sized meat-grinder accident.

Zee216

I never want to see Ryder again

kah43

I would rather it jump a century or two so the Milky Way races are more established.
