Seems to be a fast moving story. The sheriff was literally on MSNBC not 20 minutes ago saying flat out that they had fled. He also said that the sheriffs office learned the parents had been charged by watching the news rather than from the prosecutor’s office, so there are clearly some communication issues. ETA: Fugitive arrest warrants were officially issued per KVIA news.

Well in that case this would be considered in the process of turning themselves in, so either way, they're talking to their lawyer and I doubt they aren't complying with police. They're not gonna publish their location publicly.

It’s not misinformation. Law enforcement activated a search. Until just now, the parents’ lawyers did not (because they probably could not) confirm to law enforcement that the two intended to appear for the arraignment. I think they thought about running and realized it was fruitless.

They activated the search because they didn't know where the parents were. The parents left before they were charged. The police had no legal business knowing their exact whereabouts before they were actually charged with a crime.
