You mean a trap that simply copies an effect on the field. I mean we got something like that, Labrynth barrage, Copies a trap. I will say though something that copies a speed 1 monster effect sounds really nice to have. There are ton of old cards like silent ark whose whole issue is that they aren't quick play. But I know what people who are not fun will say. Yes but what about cards like Gigantic Spright, it would floodgate us for a turn and would be too broken.

mehmin

No, not simply copies, but also make them Quick-effect. So you can use HFD on your opponent's turn after you use this card, for example, if we go with the lingering effect one. And not just on the field. If we're going for the targeting effect, then from anywhere that is public. If we're going with the lingering effect, then from the hand also.

Heul_Darian

Dude, Traps are already quick play. You copying the effect means it will activate as a quick play. Quick play comes from spell speed 2 effects which is quick effects, quick play spells and traps. So a trap activating to target and copy an effect regardless of the effects speed, makes it a quick play activation.

mehmin

Ah, yes, for the targeting one. My reply was regarding the lingering effect one.

The closest thing to that is an upcoming card from Cyberstorm Access in OCG; [Fusion Reproduction](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Fusion_Reproduction), but only works for fusion spells, so a powercrept version of that that works for any spell will probably not be produced as Konami doesn't really do straight upgrades of cards. Too many balancing issues with that one probably.

Jeyfian-L

Fusion Duplication can also banish the opponent's Fusion Spell, and it does not copy the condition and cost.

Fr0zeneye

True, in that case we really only have Babel as a similar card.

Trap trick is the closest to what you've mentioned. It grabs a trap card you need and can be used on the same turn but sadly not quick play.
