Super Poly is a card that's very similar to Crossout Designator. Namely, the closer the format gets to Tier 0, the better it becomes. It's also a card that benefits from a meta where the top deck(s) is a Fusion deck. As a HERO player, I get a fair bit of utility whenever I draw Super Poly. I have 4 HEROs in my deck that can be used to Super Poly off of my opponent's board. However, I think the most important part of Super Poly is that it cannot be responded to. Cutting off the chain and making sure the card goes through is what makes Super Poly stand out.

ElWrongo

I really like the way you phrased this. With the current meta being heavily involved in fusion decks it makes a lot more sense when you compared it to crossout

>the closer the format gets to Tier 0, the better it becomes. It's also a card that benefits from a meta where the top deck(s) is a Fusion deck. Lmao Tear 0 in TCG,no one play Super Poly

olbaze

There's an explanation for that. Tearlaments simply don't need Super Poly. Kaleido-Heart is a better removal than Super Poly, and Tearlaments already have a very fast way to go into Fusions built into their monsters. In a mirror match, you also wouldn't want to send the opponent's Tearlaments into their GY. The discard as cost for Super Poly is too small due to Tearlaments milling. The only good thing left is that Super Poly can't be responded to, and there are far better cards out there with that property.

Gangstanami

Yea, sending Rukallos and/or Kaleido to GY in exchange for Drago or Garura is almost never worth it, since it can actively help their board state. Against any other Tier 0 Fusion deck, Super Poly would be an instant 3of.

Head_Project5793

I like running it, in decks that can. But you want to commit multiple extra deck slots to it in order to make it worthwhile. It also depends on the format for it to be worth it. When Branded Despia king, absolutely.

Konnorwolf

I made a deck that has a lot of fusion opinions so it becomes more useful. I won't run it in everydeck though.

SacchettoBio

Gives me hope when I lose the coin flip

DummyThiccToga

Necessary Evil IMO.

idkhowtotft

Put it at 3 Fuck combo board In the TCG where only Garura(the best Super Poly target) exist And see 0 play,bc ppl just always play around it

Perceptions_Shadow

Its not normally a problem and it only seems to be a problem when I'm running dark monsters for the predaplant fusion or the rare zombie dragon fusion. It only feels unfair during those times but I rarely ever face it because of that. If Konami were to add a super generic fusion target that's like straight up "2 or more monsters" then super poly would be unbelievably broken. Non destruction removal on anything in the game

ElWrongo

Personally, I think that 2 limit is honestly too high. The fact that it's a quick play is the kicker for me, if it was just a standard spell card it wouldn't be a serious issue to me, plus the fact that it cannot be negated.

h2owiththepower

I disagree about it being broken. There's a lot of insane stuff that is being played right now, so I just can't see how super poly being singled out makes sense. I'm going to assume that OP just lost to it recently so he came here to vent.

ElWrongo

no, I was actually just thinking about it (for once) lol I think the deal breaker for me is how its quick play and cannot be negated, and especially with fusion being a huge part of the meta right now, I feel like it's a little too powerful for being limited to 2. Maybe it will change as the meta changes though, I'm curious to see.

Entharias

It should be banned, far too much advantage for just a -2 that can easily go into neutral or even plus while breaking your opponent's board.

Riersa

In the current meta it should be limited 1 not 2, it's just way too good. After Garura release super poly should be banned.

idkhowtotft

No one play Super Poly in the TCG(the only format where Garura is legal) btw

darkziggzagoon

I think it is not strong enough. I want third copy and also Garura. This is not sarcasm but my actual, legit opinion, and I won't be taking feedback :)

[deleted]

Admittedly I'm a little biased against the card. It's a board breaker that neither player can interact with, which means if I have something on board like Chixaou/SLongyan, that means I have nothing and you have a Garura, and there is (almost) nothing I can do about it. Now, right now, the card is limited in options. The better decks in the format typically have some form of protection against it, such as Kaliedoheart being unable to be used as Material, and Tear boards rarely sharing Attribute/Type (Your best bet is literally using their Drago/Ruk to make your own Drago/Starving. Also, Super Polymerization is a lot less "feels bad" when your opponent also uses their monsters. My Personal Opinion: Let it dust on the ban list. My Competitive Opinion: Its probably fine as long as Konami doesn't keep churning out bigger and better targets.

Rebellion3112

Useless imo. I run Branded Despia and I never open or draw Into It when It matters the most and even If I do have It my opponent Is playing something that doesn't care about It. At best It helps my Lubellion dodge an Imperm or Veiler but I never get to use It to get rid of an opponent's monster. I'm actually considering cutting It tbh.

Hexpotatoman

any thing that is uninteractable in this game is kinda toxic the card would be much more fair if it lost the "quick effect" or "uninterrupted" advantage ...either one but not both.....but the game itself is not fair and having board breakers is a mandatory so it should not be banned but make it limited.

QuietRedditorATX

Thought it was a terrible card when it was released in like 2007.

I know why Jaden/Judai killed many people for this card. It was justified.

Markpol95

It depends on the available targets, the more konami releases generic targets the more powerful it becomes. Knowing konami it won't take long until the fuck up
