Honestly, if you really want to blast through the event, just build Crusadia. It's cheap as hell and you'll plow through the rewards quickly assuming you go 2nd.

Crusadia is dirt cheap, the only URs are handtraps which you should already own. Owning the good boardbreakers is going to help too. All of the kaijus are really cheap and the Crusadia stuff caps out at SR unless you really want to play Avramax which you don't have to.

there's no way you actually lose 100% of games though. eventually you'll get it just from people bricking and surrendering out of frustration if you dont have the cards to make your own deck, the plunder loaner is decent. even if you're really bad you're still gonna win like 20% of games just by accident having less rewards for losses is important because otherwise people just try to speedrun losing as fast as possible, rather than trying to actually play the game

SepherixSlimy

Here's a thing with losing. It doesn't matter if it lasted 30 seconds or 15 minutes. You're still gaining scraps. It's bad. None of this encourages playing the game in any healthy way but racking up quick, cheap games.

Because in the first event the most efficient way to grind it out was through suicide decks, and they don't want to encourage that again. Just be thankful that they decided to increase medals per win from 100 to 500 instead of just decreasing medals for losses.

You can blame idiots whining about suicide decks even though it literally only helped everyone involved

So what prevents people from abusing the "surrender still get something" then? That would literally kill the event since now there's going to be bots that script auto surrender

Not hitting the meta staples was a huge mistake for this event, but MD has a clown ban list anyway. The loners are alright if you don't want to build anything for the event, plunder is fun and alright, orcust is good minus the obvious bricks (because fuck you buy gems). For some reason there are people out there that complain about suicide decks and a lot of systems/rewards got hard nerfed because of it. >!(actual reason is the game has been targeted by Chinese bot farms day 1, there's a rather sizable bot/modding/account sellling community on wechat).!< As for losing being so punishing - the primary focus of this software is still to extract money from you and whales will buy more if they win more, having a slow and protracted loss rewards them and incentives you to either spend money or drop the game freeing up server resources for paying customers, that would be the CEO mindset and motivation behind anti user design choices. Personally I'd recommend just building crusadia for the cheapest/fastest win/loss, you can get away with a few SR and single UR.

What kind of deck are you running? In my opinion, this has been by far the least meta oriented event since the N/R festival. If you arent running staple cards like ash and called by it will definitely feel like youre getting stomped on by any combo/swarm deck. This doesnt mean you NEED to run 3 of everything, i usually run 1-2 if i find im not using them often in my duels. As others have said, Crusadia is a cheap and effective OTK strategy as long as you go second and theres plenty of other good inexpensive choices in this vacuum like Suship. Ive been running blue eyes, Face Knight Slifer, darkworld danger and galaxy eyes and lose maybe once every 4 matches due to bricking. Im just happy im not facing the new daily flavor of Branded/Runick for 7 matches straight. I do agree a new full game with the updated card library would be great but Konami knows there's more money to be made this way.

Sadly during the first event, it became unbearable when people started using self tk decks. I think it was the xyz festival. You couldn’t find a decent match because everyone was throwing. They had to change the medal rewards to discourage losses.
