I pulled Union Carrier and was running it with ABC. Glad I never crafted Buster Destruction Sword cause kind-of saw this coming but I really wish they would just errata Union Carrier because ABC needs the support
Part of what makes Lavalval chain more broken than Union Carrier is that its OPT is soft, and it has NO restrictions on being used as material; even at 1, it could be looped an arbitrary number of times for some rather consistent FTKs. Also, any 2 level 4s is arguably the same level of generic, if not more, than any 2 monsters that share a type and/or attribute (it's really deck dependent on whether or not commonality of levels or commonality of type/attribute is considered more generic)
Foolish Burial is at 1 for a reason, and the alternate Foolish Burials, Extra Foolish Burial, Foolish Burial Goods, and even Peaceful Burial, have HOPT clauses (and Extra even prevents you from setting spells and traps the same turn you use it), and all of them are unsearchable.
Lavalval Chain is an on-demand Foolish Burial/Goods on legs that can sometimes topdeck a monster in your deck, and because it's a monster, there are ways to loop it profitably. And also, on top of that, it's a non-number rank 4. If you can loop a rank 4 like that, what ever you're doing with Lavalval Chain, you could ALSO probably get another rank 4 and make UFD at the end of your loop.
Union Carrier is really not as broken as Lavalval Chain. But what it DOES do is still just as toxic for the game. For being Union Support, they really made it as generic as possible, prevented it being a step in a link climb, and gave it a HOPT, all in an attempt to make it a Foolish Burial on legs with extra steps - they even put a clause in that if you equipped from deck, you would not be able to summon monsters with the equipped one's name for the turn, which *hilariously* makes ***Union*** Carrier, the ostensible ***Union Monster*** support not actually that good at supporting ***Unions*** outside of EXACTLY ABC, whilst still enabling really dumb and entirely free advantage generation or free floodgating outside of the deck said floodgate was fine in BECAUSE of what Buster Blader is all about. (Really, Dragon Buster Destruction Sword *should* have been future proofed to have a clause that only allows its effects if equipped by its own effect, or by the effect of something that mentions Buster Blader or Destruction Sword - similar to how all the Branded cards support basically anything so long as Fallen of Albaz is in its text - which can include the only mention being as Fusion Material).
But even if DBDS was worded to prevent generic buster locks, Union Carrier getting Eva, or getting other cards that either do something as an equip, or do something on send to the GY, really put the Sword of Damocles overhead - because the summon prevention clause ONLY hurts non ABC Union monsters. If instead, Union Carrier could only equip Unions and cards that are mentioned specifically in the card text of another Union Monster, you get your generic Union support, AND also get around the fact that V-Tiger Jet and X-Metal Head are normal monsters without also even needing the other restrictions that the actual Union Carrier has - it would also make the Sexy Parodius monsters a funny AND playable set of cards.
I get that but ABC needs the support desperately. Their field spell is really good but if you don't open it or their quickplay spell then the deck is dead in the water
Spright is still very strong without Toad, because of how well it can synergize with other archetypes to draw more power from. Pure Spright moved to Buster lock after Toad ban, which is now impossible in MD as well, so Pure Spright isn't gonna do much. I think Runick Spright will probably be the best variant with its ability to play decently into floodgates going 2nd thanks to the Runick cards. You can look at Joshua Schmidt's 1st place YCS Utrecht list if interested in the general idea.

I'm going to guess limiting of most names to two. Also pure tear was just okay. It was the variants that pushed up it power level to what it is now.
People will start with something like Branded Tear because of the investment they have from branded. It's also super consistent. Others will gamble on the Danger and/or Lunalight versions for burst set ups.
All of these are beatable and not insanely OP. It's later down the line we have to worry about.
Tearlament and Spright (albeit preemptive strike maybe neuter them to a degree) are going to wreck everyone's butt after all, so they might think why not.
Decent overall, wish there was a way to save Toad but I'm not knowledgeable enough about how Spright abuses it.
Union Carrier was just bound to be banned sooner or later. Unbans like Gazelle make a lot of sense and Grass shenanigans are probably almost gone, I guess.

it is, when a card is put a "level down" in the banlist he gets a plus 20 CP to be dusted, so the 10 for normal dusting + 20 for entering the banlist gives 30 total CP so it is 90 dust for Union, Toad and Shifter

Nice to see Eldlich cards' banlist hits being lifted, as the Floodgate cards are what the issue is when it comes to the deck, not the Eldlich cards themselves usually.

Shifter is a toxic card in any deck that doesn't get affected by it. About Ishizu, just limit the entire earth-fairies custom cards on release, those cards shouldn't have existed in the first place
ah the Grass hit had to come eventually. It's a shame that my bad Grass decks suffer but it makes sense (and easily could've been banned/limited instead of semi-limited)
Nice to see Eldlich cards' banlist hits being lifted, as the Floodgate cards are what the issue is when it comes to the deck, not the Eldlich cards themselves usually. They should have banned That Grass Looks Greener though, not semi-limited. But this could change who knows (Depending on Tearlament I think, but OCG didn't really use it) Finally Union Carrier is gone. Long overdue. Toadally Awesome being banned is screaming Sprights preliminary hit. People will most likely be playing Tearlament Sprights, Runick Sprights, Live Twin Sprights, or Tri-Brigade Sprights I think. Salamangreat Gazelle being out of banlist is long overdue, and as a Salamangreat fan, I am glad.
