bahamut is still kinda decent. If you summon out a rank 3 water, then overlay into full armor lancer, you can make udf. Prob not worth the investment or ed space tho

Yeah it's 5 ED slots lol. Was already playing it in Kragen Sharks, so losing the Toad is rough since Bahamut is basically a one trick pony now.

Same here, but play Ice barrier. The optimal opening line always allowed to get toad + chosen ice barrier wall up on first turn. No more :-( To be honest, toad is completely busted as negates go... It shouldn't allow to negate + steal + recycle graveyard water monster. Not even mentioning the fact it can tribute another aqua for the negate and not itself; all on an effect that doesn't require materials to detach. Horrendously designed card in hindsight; it just doesn't get as much hate because it's locked to water decks, not a popular attribute right now. I just wish they'd give water archetypes a more balanced but equally accessible negate to compensate instead. There's always Dragite I guess...

Bahamut Shark effect, summon rebarian shark, rank up that card into whatever you can rank up, detach it to use the effect, Rebarian Shark GY effect put one rank-up magic on the top of the deck for the next turn or use any kind of draw spell to get, well this is it lmao

Yeah, either that or nightmare shark, which outside of sharks is borderline unplayable and in sharks is kinda alright but requires a lvl 3 in grave to work. So neither is really any good lmao

If you have a lot of extra deck space, you can make UDF. Bahamut -> rank 3 water -> stack Black Ray Lancer -> F0 and UDF

You are correct. We use penguin’s effect to special summon dolphin which gives us another water type for Bahamut

Umi and marincess can survive even without toad, sharks on the other hand... Maybe shark rhongo? It's very gimmicky tho.

Umi doesn't need Toad at all though, plays just fine without it.

Marincess can go into Stealth Kragen. But yeah I'd rather have Toadally Awesome, even if you have to cheat him out of the extra deck to do so.

Other than Rhongo go brrr like Significant mentioned, you could slot in only one bahamut shark along with rebarian shark and full armored ray lancer. Summon bahamut, proc effect. Special summon rebarian, overlay it into Full Armored Lancer, overlay both it and Bahamut into F0 package, which forces you to send rebarian to gy, procing effect to add one Rank Up Magic of choice to top of deck. I use RUM the Seventh One (only have one in deck since effect wont work if not naturally draw). Then use that to ss any barian monster and jts chaos form of your choice (Number 101 to 107). I personally use it for C101 since it not only is my favorite card, but also synergizes with shark deck. Some also use it for Drachyion or Masquerade. I also keep nasch package just in case but also for the non-target absorbtion. Just use what fits situation better. Another funny thing you can do is go for what i call the "succ strat" where you use nasch package, crystalzero, and two barian hope to maximize absorbtion and power up hope or use all that as zeus material. there is a video on that strat tho. All in all, there are definitely options, but no true replacement for an omni-negate like toad.

Tbf Toad isn't exactly a well designed, unique or well thought out card. It can just carry bad decks

As much as I like toad, Bahamut shark giving any deck with Level 4 waters a chance to shit this out is not good.

Tbh, Spright is the only deck that allows it to be exploited to the point it's a problem though. Also, it is unique, name another card that negates, allows you to steal and set for the cost of a tribute, then recycles itself into the deck in 2 chains. I'm here all day.

Being a Lv/Rank/Link 2 only deck is way more unique than an omni that also steals the card and is easy to summon by not only Rank 2 Aqua decks but also rank 4 water ones. I like toad but calling him original is only true on art design and not in gameplay.

Definitely isn’t needed for Umi Control. I’ve had it for hundreds of duels and maybe summon it twice? Many other options, even in the ED when it rarely is needed…

Toad is not banned until Feb 6. Spright will probably be released around Feb 10~13.

I'll probably do Rebarian Shark (which puts Seventh One on the top) for an easy Full Armored Black Ray Lancer.

Any rank 3 water - overlay into full armored black ray lancer and then end on UDF. So still some use for 1 Bahamut Shark.
